ChrisKels: At the that time in comparison to other players who were far more deserving he should not have been invited, he had done nothing to justify that call up. That was my view then and has not changed. How perversely absurd is it then that we forgot about him for 2+ years, when he started to perform outstandingly we still did not invite him. It was when he was given the accolade as the best player in the Championship as well as invited to England U21 we remembered he existed. 1 Like 1 Share |

Bolowolowo: Year that WC jinx needs be broken. And we don't need technical boys, but emboldened boys....the mould of the russian team +some tenacity from our noisy neighbours from the gold coast. Its annoying that all the big difference of our WC fate are within the timeframe of 20mins less. Like that Argentina match.... Same for the Afcon match too. We need to do something about that. Its annoying.... 6 mins to go, goal 10mins to go, pk against us, 15mins to qualifying, 3goals, etc. Do we need a Defender in John Terry character A midfielder of Kroos/Bastian mix An attacker like Auba that knows just when to fall back and defend And some sane human beings in that glass house. We don't wana hear all these crappy gist of bonuses, allowances or shingbain related to cash..... Only then can we........ |

Guilty about what? If they ask you now how they have been begged can you expatiate? And how is it different when other countries approach our players. Iwobi, for example was approached by England even when he was heading to Nigeria after commiting. So explain to me now, does England not have dignity? andrewbaba44: 1 Like |

Joebie: You don't seem to understand my grouse. he wants to focus on age grade teams for now. And not ready for national teams And we have received words here that, he's committed to Nigeria, but only playing games with the 3 lions so as to land a big PL team. That's my grouse. Why does he have to play cat and mouse with Nigeria? Others that didn't play, like I listed, didn't they go ahead and land a big team while playing for Nigeria? Why does he need the 3 lions tag to seal a Tottenham move? Does he fear he's not good enough to get a Tottenham deal without being affiliated with the 3 lions? That's what it means. He's not sure of himself. If he commits to Nigeria, Tottenham will blow away and he won't get them again........why? Because he's not good enough!!! That's the same player people are still whining for 1 Like 1 Share |

You are accusing him of something from your own assumptions or from other’s opinions. The problem is you have a grouse with a player who has decided to continue with England. Why? Whether he plays for Nigeria or not eventually is up to him, and it’s also up to the NFF to ignore him then. Life is full of choices. Both parties professionals in their own rights. Making approaches is part of the business. There should never be hard feelings. barackodam: |

nelszx:He also mentioned that Iwobi spoke with him about travelling to and playing for Nigeria and according to him, he knows that his father is a Nigerian but he seems more Dane because his mom and sis are Danes, that's where he was born and that's where he grew up. But the good or whatever thing here is that he knows and acknowledge that he is a Nigerian and despite playing for Bournemouth and at the age of 23 he still hasn't been deemed fit to play for the Danish National team. He must have been told and assured by Iwobi that if he chooses Nigeria, he can immediately start playing for a National team and there seems to be more prospect playing at the world cup for Nigeria than Denmark. And he is a good left footed DM with eyes for passes, has a very good height and good with interceptions. So, maybe he has changed his mind and chosen to play for Nigeria. But this is where problems will come up....let's assume all the players currently touted decides to play for Nigeria and they all come good, who among these midfielders and attackers will be dropped because some seems too good to be dropped, some are integral part of the SE team, e.g Ahmed Musa and some seems to have very good prospect in the nearest future, e.g Maja. Ndidi Billing Aribo (he has done well so far playing for both Rangers ans the SE) Ejeria R. Azeez (He plays first team football for a Laliga team) Eze Iwobi Etebo (He is an integral part of the SE team and he might continue playing for a Laliga club) Chukwueze Osimhen Kalu (He is an integral part of the SE team) Simon Iheanacho (he seems to be finding his footing again and on a very good day we all know what he can bring to the table) Desser (He has proven to be a very good goal poacher for his club) E. Dennis (He seems to have a very bright future with reports of Dortmund and Leicester been interested in him) Musa (Team captain) Onyekuru (Finding his footing back again playing for Galatasaray) Maja (If given a chance he has proven to score goals and there were already reports of C.palace and Westham showing interest in him. If he goes to any of the clubs and comes good, he will be hard to overlook him). Ejuke (Seriously I don't know why he still hasn't been called to the SE but if report of Feyenoord been interested in him is true and he goes there and continue to impress, then it will be hard to overlook him just like Maja) 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Off topic because it's a vitally important one. Very early on in April l commended Nigeria for thier response to the Corina virus. At that stage the UK had not recorded any significant number of deaths. At the time the Nigerian response was better than the UK one even with limited resources and the usual corruption manipulation issues. A month plus later the very thing l dreaded has been exceeded. We have over 32,000 Covid 19 deaths highest in Europe and they are still manipulating the figures to hide the truth. The same time period Nigeria has only recorded near 100. Is this exceptional efficiency or is it that God has just been merciful to us. 1 Like 1 Share

Joebie: Culture norms and values birth perceptions and mannerisms that people presume have universal acceptance and practice. When they simply do not. Because this whole idea of "begging" is in all honesty crass degenerative ignorance. It reminds me of this practice in our Nigerian universities where innovation, new ideas and concepts are supposed to be birthed. But are effectively murdered at inception. When a student present a different notion or approach to a Professor or lecturer. He will be dismissed with " who are you, what do you know" continued persistence and you have caused yourself to fail. And students will justify it, " imagine he is questioning a Lecturer. |

ChrisKels: No l didn't say that, stop misquoting and twisting my words and intent. That's what your prejudice at work. For a long time Ejaria has expressed interest in Nigeria. Indeed he waa invited to the U17 Nigeria selection him and Ademola Lookman but after performing they were never selected. So it's not today he expressed his interest. He has been perfoming for a long time at a high level at the age of 18 was playing in Liverpool first team. However, we chose to invite the two Nwakali brothers who had done nothing to justify a call up. 1 Like 1 Share |
