For Yorubas: What Is Our Long Term Goal by Nobody: 9:57am On May 06, 2020 |
What exactly is our national goal? We know that Hausa/Fulanis want to keep Nigeria one and dominate it. We know that Ibos want to divide Nigeria and go with the SS What is our own unique goal? We just registered our ethnic group in UNPO, which may suggest to other Nigerians that we want out of this union. Yet we are positioning for presidency in 2023. It's good but I want to know what our people think should be our end game. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Omoluabi as a concept is the long term goal of the Yoruba. To be a people of progress and dignity that can stand shoulder to shoulder and even above with other races and nations. Imagine Wakanda being real Yoruba have tried to achieve this and have not really suceeded. However we can see that a little progress has been made. Amotekun was the loudest sound Yoruba have made to show Nigeria that being excessively dragged back by Nigeria will be resisted. In summary Yoruba want progress ..within Nigeria if possible..if not then without..and Yoruba will try to withdraw as painlessly as possible if it comes to that. The above is the lofty goal of both the intellctual and averagely educated Yoruba. And even the dignified members of the peasant level..but many Yoruba have been brought to a very low level of mindset (backbiting, thuggery, ritualism, filthiness etc) which must be considered. 25 Likes 4 Shares |

Long term goal is not secession or holding on to a failed union, long time goal is human and infrastructural development of our region, tell me any states that do everything in unison like Yoruba states, where’s there’s freedom to practice the religion you like, support any candidate you like, that’s our long term goal. Our long term goal is to retain the industrial hub of the nation and the economic capital too, our long term goal is to connect all yoruba major cities together with a road like East - West line (USA), our long term goal is making Yorubaland peaceful so others can come to live and prosper and in turn increase our IGR, our long term goal is security of lives and property in our region, (creation of amotekun and very soon state policing) our long term goal is maintaining the best crop of lawyers in Nigeria Incase there’s a reason to secede, there won’t be bloodshed... If you study Yoruba history, you’ll know our thirst for liberty and progressiveness knows no bound, why our forefathers left ife to conquer territories Maybe if IPOB study more bout the ANC and Mandela, they’ll know what’s call a struggle, how to liberate your people, sacrifice you’re to make, the type of government you want to run, your economic policy, Kanu hasn’t talked about that, just insulting... I wish they succeed with their secession quest, but Kanu is a distraction for their course, they won’t agree lol I believe ndigbo have more prospects than kanu, go through history, secessionist leader doesn’t do act like him I haven’t find that in biafra related post, just making mouth and beating chest But if the Yoruba nation decides to secede this union one day, nothing on earth can stop it... you can check history 15 Likes 2 Shares |

JOHNSONSOLAFUNMI:nice one dear...I like this But there is a problem. What you have written here is also the goal of other regions. The north believe they can achieve it by controlling Nigeria's government. The Ibos believe they can achieve it by breaking out of Nigeria. The Niger Delta believe they can achieve it either by getting resource control or Niger Delta Republic How can we achieve all this. What is the plan? Presidency? Sovereignty? Restructuring? How? 4 Likes 1 Share |
Re: For Yorubas: What Is Our Long Term Goal by Nobody: 12:12pm On May 06, 2020 |
The country should be divided along culture/language/religion/moral/norm/belief lines. We are just not united at all and it's better we get a divorce and go our separate ways. The Ibos/Hausas/Yorubas have ruled Nigeria since 1960, 60 years after independence and Nigeria has regressed back into the evil dark ages divided by religion/tribe/culture/morals and beliefs meanwhile the world has left Nigeria behind. Nigeria is not a functioning state and the earlier we separate the better for us. 6 Likes |

jacksonkennedy: Yoruba still hold influence in the country policy, fine it’s the north turn and they’re misusing it and that’s okay Restructuring is fine, Yoruba nation has always lived in peace with other kingdoms, hundreds of years ago, we just need the western region government again but this time run like a federalist state, oyo running her government, likewise the egbas, ijebus, ijeshas... and other subgroups, more power to local councils let’s see how 2023 goes, it’ll be very interesting 2 Likes |

JOHNSONSOLAFUNMI:with our influence at the federal level, are we having better roads than others? Do we have better electricity? Are we better secured? Are our hospitals ahead of other regions? Are our universities involved in better research? Can we truly say that as at today, that we are doing really better than any other region (especially southern states) What agenda are we going to set for Tinubu or osinbajo or whoever gets there in 2023? Or is the plan to have a yoruba man there for bragging rights? If all we need is a yoruba president then we can have that in our separate country. What exactly are we expecting to achieve with a yoruba man in Aso rock? I just need us to set a clear vision. It doesn't seem like we have one yet 2 Likes 1 Share |
