You can pray at home to God. God is omnipresent, wherever you call on HIM, He can hear. You don’t need to go to Ota before you can speak directly to God. There is no alternative to where you can buy or sell. Traders need to sell some of the perishable goods otherwise, their stocks will perish. Buyers also need to restock otherwise they will die of hunger. Bishop Oyedepo should understand this. Whatever message he needs to preach, there is alternative to getting the message across to your parishioners. It could be through telecast, digital channels or through social media as most of the church leaders are doing today. What is Bishop Oyedepo’s alternative to food? It is time to reappraise messages from these pastors especially when they say “I hear God expressly spoke to me that .......” are they the only one God is speaking to? Ejima1: |

Temysteve:Just couldn't scroll past this stupid comment. Check yourself to ensure you are not cursed with major lack of common sense before cursing someone else with your lousy mouth. Oyedepo is a god of men like you and not a man of God. Go to church with your entire family and worship him please and hopefully get infected. Leave others to keep safe. |

Hello Bishop Oyedepo, my apologies if you or any member of your church find this offensive, it is my own opinion from my ignorant mind so to speak. Whatever message he needs to preach, there are several alternative channels to getting the message across to your parishioners and the world at large, as a matter of fact, you are able to reach out to several millions than those that will come to Ota or any of your cells. It could be through telecast, digital channels or through social media Platforms as most of the church leaders are doing today. What is Bishop Oyedepo’s alternative to food? It is time to reappraise messages from these pastors especially when they say “I hear God expressly spoke to me that .......” are they the only one God is speaking to? God is not interested in the church buildings, He is more concerned about the salvation of individual soul that are likely to perish because the message didn’t get to them. Leave Ota and go to the isolation centres and lay hands upon the sick, they need you more there than in the auditorium at Ota at this present time! Chimezirim121: |

The church has been shut simply because our activity is confined to the buildings, loyalty is hardly given to the Head of the Church -CHRIST, However followers give various self acclaimed Pastors and Bishop all honor. Hardly is the church a positive influence in the market place, rather we copy many of the actions of people in the market, so why will the market not remain open with churches on the receiving end and now shut up. |

[quote author=Niorte post=89302179] I had always thought you were wise, never knew you are this STUP1D! To call a servant of God foolish is the height of stupidity. By the way, if we are to debate logically, it makes no sense to ask market/businesses to open but the Church should be closed down! Is Corona virus more effective in the church than in the market? Is the church more disorganised than the market? If they can allow people to go to work, to enter public bus, if they can allow people to go to market and offices but cannot allow church services to hold then their brains are malfunctioning. Church is one of the most organised setting. Aside the praise and worship/offering sessions there is no moving around. The church can afford to do social distancing, provide nose mask for all her members. What am I even typing? Whoever supports that market can open while the church should be closed lacks but logic and common sense Correct! Meaning the trio of you, the Bishop and the Tanzanian president are the sole custodians of common Sense around the globe. |

Chosen1984: If you need to go to a building to worship an omnipresent God, pray to him, and study his words, isn't that saying something about your faith in his omnipresence? Matthew 6: 5-8 actually encourages us to pray in private, so for whatever 'true Christian' needs a building to pray might need to re-examine his faith. If you carefully study the Pentateuch (i.e. the books credited to Moses - Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy), there are several parts of it where the Bible advices on disease control: Leviticus 13: 45-46 advices us on isolating people with infectious diseases for roughly 14 days (similar to what we have been told about the Corona virus). While the Bible does mention leprosy, you need to understand that this was a blanket words for pretty much all infectious diseases. Ïn a situation where the people who spread the disease the most are asymptomatic, do you not reckon that the wisdom of the Bible would point towards avoiding large gatherings (e.g. church services)? If you go on further to Leviticus 15: 1-12, the prescriptions on infectious contaminations, largely mirror what we have seen and been told in the midst of this pandemic by public health officials on decontaminations. In the words of my Lord Jesus Christ, 'The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath' (Mark 2:27). He went on to ask the Pharisees ‘Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?’ If you going to Church could spread a disease that have killed several thousands the world over, are you saving life, or helping to take it? If you truly study your bible by yourself and dwell on its words, you would become discerning when some of these supposed preachers are leading you astray. I leave you with God's words in Proverbs 22:3 - "A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished." So, what choice would you make in these times; to be the prudent Man, or the simple-minded? |

Bishop needs tithes and offerings as usual, all churches still closed till further notice sir. That's an order from the government. Obey the laws of your land sir. Nonsensical so called pastor. |

Maxymilliano:I concur with you. Oyedepo sells hope and prosperity gospel to the gullibles and sheeple in exchange for their tithes, offerings, seed and Shiloh sacrifice. Bottom line - Oyedepo is right that the church is also a market. |
