Well sometimes, parents do make wrong decisions for their children. Just like my junior bro who is really good at playing football, finished his secondary school and he was approached by a football manager who wanted to manage him. He came with lots of offer for my bro to play abroad (USA, South Korea, Qatar and Slovakia). But my parents were against him playing. The man grew tired and left managing my bro due to frustrations coming out from my parent. Well my bro is in uni now feeling frustrated.

Ignorant parents ?

I sat for my first jamb exam which I passed but my post utme result was bad so I had to sit for another jamb .

I was preparing for the second jamb exam when suddenly my mum came back from work to tell me SHE THINKS STUDYING LAW is not a good idea that SHE CAN'T JOIN OCCULTIC SOCIETY because of a child . I refused and continued my exam prep ....

Two weeks later she convinced me to visit her father in her village not know she had told my grandfather to persuade me to drop the idea of studying law in the university .

I later had to bend to what they wanted because I didn't want to be seen as a DISOBEDIENT CHILD . I later gained an admission to study PHILOSOPHY .

FAST FORWARD to part two in the university , my mum called to tell me ONE PASTOR TOLD HER that Law is what God has chosen for me to study and do in life , I sat for jamb exam that year I couldn't make it ..


I WISH I WAS STUBBORN TO END AND NEVER BEND TO HER PLEAD OF NOT STUDYING LAW wish I had passion for .



When you know you are on the right path .... be hell bent on achieving your aim .

Suddenly most men here are saying listening to their parents is not the best that they could be bias or archaic. Are this not the same guys that will say they won't marry someone their parents refuse. At that point they are not bias.

My grandfather was a very rich but illiterate chief in abeokuta, he never believed in education so he instructed all his children to go into farming and not waste time with school but my dad was the only one that successfully disobeyed him which got him disowned but my dad fled to Lagos, slept on the streets/uncompleted buildings, finished school, started working as a labourer, the owner of one of the house he was doing bricklayer for noticed he always study during break time and got him employed at the airport, got scholarships to further his studies in London and later became the breadwinner of the family.

Parents should allow us choose our path, reading ur story, I remembered a guy who his father was hellbend on forcing him to study medicine, cut the long story short, he couldn't make it and he ended up taking his own life when the pressure on him became unbearable.

But one of the personal lesson I learnt is you have to use wisdom in having scuffle with your parents lest it turns to dishonoring them.
