We were selling 2 million barrells at around $20 then so making about $40m daily gross then. I don't know how much Govt keeps per Barrell but I remember reading somewhere that Govt only takes half and the oil coys take half.

Did you just use sanctions and the military regime in the same sentence? Abacha could care less about the amount of sanctions Nigeria incurred. We had a huge oil windfall during the military regime and the boom was responsible for tons of the infrastructural development we witnessed during that era.
