Church do not physically open for now; I want to ask Do you still pay your Tithes and Offerings?

Those who pay it because they love God enough to pay it will do so. Those who love their money too much to free 10% of it will not.

Besides, Matthew 23 v 23 said tithing (the former) should not be left undone, but that we should also pay attention to weightier matters of the law such as justice and mercy in addition to tithing.

Paying tithes and owing your workers is a sin.
Paying tithes and driving past that poor beggar you pass on your street everyday is a sin.
Not paying tithes and giving to the poor is robbing God.
Paying tithes and offerings and giving to the poor, but preferring to let your parents starve or having to ask you for money first before you give them is a sin before God.

Giving is a 5-fold ministry of which tithes and offerings is just one of it. You must also give to the poor, give to your parents, and give to God's kingdom projects WITHOUT being forced to do so. You must do it cheerfully.

If you give all 5-fold and you do it grudgingly, God will not regard such, for God loves a cheerful giver. If you pay tithes and offerings from illegally gotten money, for instance if you apply for travel or hotel reimbursements with overinflated receipts or you are into Yahoo Yahoo, your givings will actually bring a curse and not a blessing.

If you do all this, but carry unforgiveness and malice in your heart towards someone, or you hate people from another tribe, then your offerings, tithes and giving to the poor will not be regarded by God. God says, you must cleanse your own heart of these things before you drop your offerings.

So it is not about whether you pay your tithes and offerings, or whether you give to the poor. What is the state of your heart when you do these things? What is the source of the money you are using to do these givings...is it pure? Do you hate people simply because of the tribe they come from?

We must check our hearts properly.

Yes. I do.

Not because I want anything in return from God but because I love God and besides church workers need to be paid too. Q

Yes o, come and pay yours to my ministry. There are quite a lot of struggling folks around that I can give the money to since you don’t need it.

If not that some of you are crassly wicked, why would you be advocating for the payment of tithes at this difficult period when people are struggling to barely eat once in a day?

Yes, infact every sunday (since the quarantine) we hold service in our house and everyone gives their offerings. Infact i'm the treasurer sef. When the quarantine is lifted, we will give the offerings to the church we attend.
Okay.
I have the opinion that the money should be distributed to the needy in your church. You know them. So we could survive thjs trying time together. It will not be sweetsounding to hear that a member was lost due to hunger, or was found in an ungodly act because of hunger.
It's just an opinion.
Take it or leave it.

For one pastor to lavish away on worldly materials right before my eyes? Mba.
Never did. I give my money directly to needy folks and I will never pay tithes to any religious body, house or man masquerading as a man of God.

How will church staff be paid this period if church doesn't get income?

My tithes goes to my aged parents every month!! If they want to pay tithe from it, that's their business!! even when I have not earn anything for 2 months now, I still sent my tithe to them!! can someone tell me if anything is wrong with how I tithe??

You’ve done nothing wrong, bro. In fact, you would have been worse than an infidel if you’ve done otherwise.

If you're convinced as a Christian to pay tithes, you won't say this.

That is why the spirit of poverty has been haunting you up and down. I pity your condition, you think you can deceive GOD.

Yes I still do, as before.

The lockdown made me 'see' a reason to increase my offering. Because I have located more people around me who need one or two things that I can give/provide for them.

God help me.
