Omooba77:I know this is a public forum but if u ask me this topic isn’t worth discussing or even d mods putting it on front page. Issues of pastors, churches and tithes bring nothing but e-WAR on this forum. Let’s be guided in whatsoever we post online, why not bring up a topic that will impact our world instead of this? For whosoever that wanna pay tithe, pls go ahead and if u don’t want to, all well and good. Peace ✌. 1 Like |

Nodogragra4me: Nodogragra4me: You are not governed by the truth but by half truth and hearsay. Not really the word of God sir. Can you truthfully answer these questions? What is tithe? quote the originating bible chapters of tithe Who are to pay tithes? quote bible verses for this Before Abraham met the priest, was he already rich and did he ever do what he did meeting the priest? What did he pay with? What Abraham paid, how does it qualify as tithe? After that incident, did it continue? Who else continously paid such? Who are the levites? Does any Nigerian pastor qualify to be a levite? I will wait for your answers before continuing further. |

ThatFairGuy: I have never paid a dime to any pastor unless I seed into his life to get what he carries and there must be proof not words that you carry something ... The kingdom of God is not in words but power ... I just started sowing directly to Bishop oyedepo account on quickteller ... I mean propeht offering to provoke the same favour and financial domination he commands , upon his life on mine. Tithing is is that the meat in God's house may be full and it is a cardinal duty As for the needy, many are in that station by design ... Whatever you sow you will reap whether you are in chains by village People or free from them. Gal 6:7 There is a seedtime according to the order for God but no havest time. You provoke your havest anytime you get the understanding and you cannot harvest but what you have planted ... It is the law of the spirit . Gen 8:22 If you are against my favouring pastors you are indirectly sowing the same seed into your own life and don't be surprised when where you ought to be nominated for a job somebody less qualified gets it Some are needy and poor by their sowing ... Provoke judgement on yourself through careless utterance and the harvest most surely come to pass When compassion doesn't flow from a man with understanding towards you even with claims of not eating for days know you are under judgement for God is a God of compassion ... He fed 5000 men who came for the word without them asking him for food Your feeding is God's responsibility as a good father ...if he has your honour you will have his honey. 1 Like 1 Share |

Aderewah: The Levitical Tithe: The tithe is a separation of one-tenth of a person’s income as a gift to God. It was a devoted offering given in gratitude to God, as well as a tribute to God who is the owner of the people and the earth on which His people dwell. The foundation of the tithe is Abrahamic: he gave tithes to Melchizedek (see Genesis 14:20). Jacob vowed the tenth to the Lord (see Genesis 28:22), from whence we see that the practice of the payment of tithes was not of Mosaic origins, but immemorial. The duty was, however, commanded afresh for the Israelites. Festival tithe( Deuteronomy 14:22-27)-The general name for this tithe has been called festival Tithe over time: This is the tithe you eat , and share. You can not eat it in your house, it must be in God's presence for the celebration of the Festival tithe: a family was to use their tithes for a sacrificial meal for two consecutive years out of every three. On every third year the tithe was to be kept within the town and given to the Levite, the sojourner, the orphan and the widow, because they did not possess land.8 The Charity Tithe: (Deuteronomy 14:28–29) The Levitical tithe is not the same as the Festival tithe. Each was a tithe in its own right but served a different purpose. If you study Number and Leviticus, the Tithe is about 30% cumulative and the part of the bible you are referring to addresses only the Festival Tithe[/b] The Levitical tithe was given to the Levitical order; the Festival tithe was shared by families with Levites, strangers, the fatherless and widows. The Charity tithe was stored for distribution by the priests to those it was meant for. Dr Mensa Otabil thoroughly dealt with this topic- See links to his book below. https://www.hwalibrary.com/cgi-bin/get/hwa.cgi?action=getmagazine&InfoID=1357653949 https://www.amazon.com/Tithes-Offerings-First-Fruits-Stewardship-ebook/dp/B07Y5RB8YB/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2XKIHEJ5TH10Q&dchild=1&keywords=mensa+otabil&qid=1589104272&sprefix=mensa+ota%2Caps%2C455&sr=8-1 |

Omooba77: Why ask. Tithe is not debatable. lt is a covenant relationship. My church don't need to ask for it. l run to them asking for avenue to send it. I just did mine this morning alongside my wife. lf you want to know why ask Bishop Oyedepo what his grand mother did that brought generational blessing upon their linkage. Mind you am not a Winner.... But l believe in the Power of Tithe. Someone will not finishing taking beer and come here to educate me about tithe. 2 Likes |

somehow: Sorry brother but you don't desire an answer because it will be a repeat of virtually all I have written here concerning tithe on this very page .. go and look for them ... They answer your question .... But to add .. Abraham paid tithe even without any prompting. Why did he pay and how did he know anout tithing to have carried it out? If tithe was not a continuous affairs Jesus would not have told the church leaders that they pay tithe even to the most mundane items in their lives ... Matt 23:23 |

OOSmilling: If you are donating via e-payment to your church and your neighbor is hungry...then your Christianity is mixed. A sane and rationale church leader should never request for any form of funding at the moment. Before now churches has not created any active platforms to help the needy. If churches or Government has been active when it comes to providing solutions, then the likes of Brekete family would have been jobless. I still do stop you from donating, it's just my opionion. |

Omooba77: To begin with, the new testament abolished tithes. Now you give willingly and as you deem fit. Second, why do feel feel obligated to pay tithes? Is your church charity oriented? If yes, you can continue to give however you feel necessary. If not, you can direct your giving to the less privileged within your reach. Pastors will tell you God doesn't recognise your giving outside the church but if you study your bible God recognised the gifts of the Centurion, as well the good deeds of Cornelius and Dorcas. But most pastors won't tell you that because then that would reduce their income. |
