I got my university degree from India, lived there total eight years.
Several of my friends from different parts of India were non religious guys, but on documents they were all Hindus. This was case for majority of them.
Except few Muslims , they were only one practicing Islam.

I do understand what you are saying here, but I think you’ve got it twisted. This has more to do with the government failing in their duties and nothing to do with religion. As a matter of fact, over the years churches and mosques have done more in these areas when compared to what the government have done.

The second election was down to many major factors and religion can’t be said to be one of them.

Nigerians ignorantly feel we can pray our way to greatness. And sadly many of us feel that way, including the political class.

That's a recipe for disaster. Praying for a better Nigeria for the next 100 years won't change a thing, until we put religions aside, focus less on these fake, imported gods, and work to make the country better.
Belief in miracles and billion, trillions of prayers don't make a country great; we've to first change our mentality, need to be less fixated on God, and believe we're the ones that create our reality.

I do agree that most Nigerians are ignorant including yourself. But it has nothing to do with their religious believe or the reason why they pray, rather it’s got more to do with what they’ve failed do as a collective people. I say so because while you’re busy blaming others for praying or their religious affiliations, you’ve failed to proffer any clear or tangible solution.


That change in mindset will enable us to elect smart leaders with ideas irrespective of religious, ethnic and political affiliations, allowing us to place more values on science, education, and research.

Sadly, I don't see that happening in our time; most people I know are too dumb to engage in deep, critical thinking, and religions have done (and still continue to do) a lot of damage to people's critical thinking.

You’ve stated severally that religion should be abandoned because it’s the major problem. So, assume we’ve all decided to abandon our faith as you’ve advised. Could you clearly demonstrate or give us the process of how our move from religion (change of mindset) will enable us to create the reality of electing a smart leader?

P:S – Just because the government failed to create an enabling environment for science, education and research to blossom don’t mean Nigerians as a people don’t already place values on them or have failed in these areas.
