Conductor261: Ohhhk...he sha said after he ran a scan that...the result revealed either the auxiliary Barr, alternator or the charging system... |
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Conductor261: 11:58pm On May 13, 2020 |
osy77: A cursory search showed these Common Causes This error is caused due to one of the following: Keeping ignition on with the engine turned off Leaving the lights on Parasitic current draw draining the battery when the vehicle is parked The battery is no longer holding a charge, test and replace the battery Too many electronic consumers connected to the auxiliary outlets Defective alternator or voltage regulator Loose battery connection or ground Serpentine belt damaged or off Check out these causes one after the other. Starting from the simplest ones ... Check battery connection and alternator charging voltage

seanfer: Awesome...thanks. I will most likely stick to Google all through the way. Hopefully, I might get a friend who is a bit familiar with the roads to accompany me. But either way Google will be my friend. I hope not to jam too much traffic on that day. I will also hold some naira notes too. As for the papers, I need to recheck these. I have non-factory tint and I have a tinted permit already. I learnt that I will also need a doctor's report as well. Don't know how true that is cos I have never been asked that so far. But I am already processing one sha to ensure I don't get delayed unnecessarily. |

dljbd1: Make sure the Doctor's report is back dated to a week before the permit is issued. |

dljbd1: I know the Onitsha to Abakiliki route like the back of my hand. If I'd be around and/or available when you're ready, I would be glad to guide you through that axis, we could make a convoy out of it maybe reach out to me when it's time. Frankly I think that it's a thing of shame that we are a community of auto enthusiasts and we don't have these road trips and car meets, like cars and coffee hangouts, more often. |

osy77: 50k for a motorcycle or generator battery? I have one lying around here, bought for 3k. The voltage converter isn't up to 30k sef - this is a major rip-off. Don't touch that alternator. Contact oluwaseunla even if you're not in Lagos for remote diagnosis. While you are it tell your guy that I said, he's mad! When you change the aux battery, the voltage converter also known as the capacitor must be changed to eliminate any issue that may arise from the swap. It is a very common problem for new Mercs. In short, a simple scan would have pointed him to the right cause of the malfunction, which would likely be the capacitor alone. 1 Like

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Eddee(m): 11:48am On May 14, 2020 |
AmuDimpka: Don't do this unless you've photocopied your life and it's at home. I've been involved in a terrible accident, it took me a long time to comfortably grab a steering wheel. You don't want to find out the hard way. |

Eddee:Enugu to Abakaliki is GEJ's handwork 100%,done as far back as 2013. Umahi is just in d process of dualizing d last approx 10km from the State University permanent site to Abakaliki town and also added streetlights. Same with d Abakaliki to Ogoja road.Done during GEJ time,100% though I heard some portions are getting bad. Abakaliki to Afikpo too though a portion of it,about 20km was abandoned since 2012.Umahi now finished it when he came in by 2015. Umahi has done a lot of internal roads sha, though mostly with his signature cement roads. 1 Like 1 Share |

ogbuefi677: Ah, thanks for the update. I keep wondering how durable this method is? Someone said it's better than the normal bitumen/coal tar - is this true? |
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by AmuDimpka: 7:59am On May 15, 2020 |
Eddee: Oga if you are a long distance Traveller , and you go to roads that you don't know the condition of the roads, it is commercial buses are best bet to follow because they ply that road staedy Lagos Benin express way have some portions that are bad ...before Ofose village and these commercial buses know these roads when to follow a particular lane...Google map will never show you bad spots or pot holes To me they are my native intelligence in roads that I don't know 3 Likes |

Eddee: Concrete is the best . They have started using it in Lagos....the anthony oshodi oworo axis In South Africa it is being used and last decades Bitumen is vulnerable to cracks, high temperature and erosion |
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Gabapentin: 8:23am On May 15, 2020 |
AmuDimpka: oga, your exact comment was to "tail" commercial buses do you even know what tailing means? you have a tendency to use words anyhow then you complain when people interpret them how they should normally be interpreted tailing commercial buses is suicide, they know all the bad parts of the roads so they can take those parts at higher speeds and swerve and weave in and out, if you tail them you will almost certainly have an accident or damage your vehicle one can use them as a guide, follow them at a safe distance but not tail them 1 Like |
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Eddee(m): 8:45am On May 15, 2020 |
AmuDimpka: I understand your reasoning and if it works for you, great! Personally I will not tail any vehicle unless I have no choice and even then I'll keep a very safe distance. The first chance I get, I'm gone for good. AmuDimpka: Ok, great. |

Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by AmuDimpka: 11:14am On May 15, 2020 |

Gabapentin: Tail a car isn't to follow a car bumper to bumper but follow a car undetected.... That is what I mean ...I didn't mean tailgating which is follow bumper to bumper I meant following a car that knows the road ...tailing not bumper to bumper (tailgating) That was exactly what I meant....maybe there was a bit mix-up |
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by AmuDimpka: 1:07pm On May 15, 2020 |
Mokelu:.. you can tail a car at a safe distance and tailgating is bumper to bumper and that wasn't what I meant bro So why the forgiveness... Am I seeing a confessor? LoL.... Well , maybe I should have used follow the commercial buses ...maybe it is better 1 Like |
