Sometimes I wonder if they are Nigerians, cause some of here in Nigeria do everything possible to better the life of people around us through personal businesses and hard work. One thing I know for sure is, everybody cannot be rich or wealthy at the same, that it worked for A doesn't mean it will work for B. This thread has gave me a new meaning and motivation to save, if I had known this thread 3 years earlier I believe my Networth would have improved drastically because of the open minded individuals we have (Mr. Ahib,Mr Emmanuel etc) they have contributed immensely positively with their financial advices, they've proven to me times without number the love they have for their country even though they have all it takes to leave the country for another but they are still here. Logically I can say we have bad leaders but that doesn't mean we should bad mouth our own country because we have been opportuned to go to other countries and thrived. Be you who or whatever, wether you are here or not Nigeria as a country will still be here and people living in Nigeria will keep breaking records of financial success which I for one can testify to.

Well said brother

How many blacks are tech savvy?? This is gold mine that can yield so much money to anybody irrespective of your race. Africans work hard, but they don't work smart.Check the black race in USA, most of them were into music, basketball, football, boxing etc. until their mates started breaking world record like " the youngest billionaire", "the greatest Inventor" etc.it was then they started waking up. They woke up, but instead of them to invent or innovate, they were busy doing copy cat. Oprah Wilfred came out original and she made it. Blacks dominate sport and music industry while the westerners dominate the tech industry. Africa American like work that requires their energy because of where they were coming from (slave trade mentality). Civilization started in Africa, but now Africa is doing catch up. Mansa Musa was the richest man on Earth then because he was dealing with gold, but how many can reach that feat dealing with gold now. Africa don't like change, we have this mentality "as it is now so shall it be forever".

Check the story of Larry Ellison, Goerge Soros, forever 21 owner. They came from poor background.

You're not getting the picture, the rest of the world are not comfortable with Blacks and that puts us at a serious disadvantage. For instance, if Mark Zukkerbage was a Black man who came up with Facebook, do you think he would have had the same success? There is a glass ceiling against Blacks in the corporate world globally.
How many Blacks are the CEO's or top executives of the Fortune 500 firms? No matter how good Blacks are in certain sectors of the Western world, there are key positions others wouldn't want them occupy even when they deserve it. A Black man will have to do three times more to achieve the same benefit or financial reward relative to a White.

Blacks are taking the path of sports, music and other similar sectors that require physical instantenous results with little or no barriers. Even in football and some other sports, more skillful Blacks are often paid less and ranks lower on the pecking order.

I am not saying we can't or shouldn't strive to do better, but as Blacks, we are at a serious disadvantage in the global arena.

Is Jack ma a westerner? Is Dangote a westerner? Is C. Ronaldo and Messi from Africa? Which African player can play like them and they didn't give world best? Is LeBron James and Steff Curry not blacks? Is Dr. Philip Emeagwali not from Nigeria? Bro, it is our reasoning that has beclouded us. There is racism all over the world, but when you are good, you are good and nobody can stop you. Just look what is happening now, African scientists are waiting for one miraclous cure for covid19, but Western couterpart are busy inside the lab. Who is stopping our scientists from inventing a drug? In Nigerian school, they bombard scientists with theory and all they do is to be arguing up and down, no practical knowledge.

Your last sentence though, very true.

Too much theory, less focus on application.

But you can also agree with me that we blacks to an extent discriminate among ourselves.

There is a high probablility that our government won't support if it was our local scientists that invented a drug for Covid-19.

Agreed that the world is not comfortable with us, we too are not ready to support our own.

Thank you, I like your last statement. We don't accept our selves and the world doesn't accept us either. How many Nigerian billionaires will first consider innoson SUV before buying SUV? How many Nigerians can comfortable wear Aba shoes? We our problem and we are here blaming the west. It took Lee Kuan determination to change the history of Singapore. Oga Ahib I greet you specially. However, I think this Canada/Diaspora journey is very relative according to individuals. For some people its been a mistake while for others its highly rewarding..I relocated to canada this year after living and working in Nigeria as a project engineer..Bros, my salary in 9ja was 150k per month but in Canada I make #1.2M net salary per month. Imagine a project engineer working in Lagos and earning 150k per month, I still have colleagues in 9ja earning 100-120k per month..in addition to my income here in Canada I get access to affordable quality health service and live in a sane environment where things are done the right way..But there are no free money in canada, everyone puts in the hours..I can confidently say relocating is the best decision I have made so far.

For people who are doing extremely well financially in 9ja it mayb be better for them to remain in Nigeria..

Does someone with a first degree in Petroleum Engineering have chances of making it big in Canada?

Wow, quite impressive. I'm curious; when and why did you relocate to Canada before you eventually returned to Nigeria? For how long were you in Canada and what did you do for a living while you were there? Now that you're back in Nigeria, what kind of business do you do?

Yes - I know what you're thinking - so many questions, but please kindly respond in details. I just want to learn from your experience.

Many thanks.

Any idea where one can get a secured Land probably in a secure estate in lagos

There's a plot and half which I currently want to dispose off at City of David Estate (Adron Homes and Properties), Shimawa. I'm offering 50% off the current price of 6M per plot. Letter of Allocation, Deed of Assignment, etc has been received from Adron, but I relocated out of town, hence the need to sell off.
