OK, lemme rephrase instead of saying technological flaws to say it's utility as a piece technology is limited to use as a currency, as opposed to Ethereum which is used across many applications.

As an investor, my only question is what is the use of a product and try to figure out the market for it, the economics that will drive it's price, and what value it brings to society. Am I right or wrong to conclude that Bitcoin is only to be viewed as a currency, and to be valued on that basis? Excuse me for describing this as a technological flaw, I did not know you would eat me for that.

Bitcoin is not really flawed (I consider flawed to be a strong word), however while Bitcoin was a fantastic proof of concept for a decentralized electronic currency, it was not designed with some features that we take for granted with regular transactions.

While it is near impossible to fake or hoodwink (the consensus system is that good), it is not equipped with the capacity for lightning quick transactions that we're now used to in this day and age.

Matter of fact, over time, Bitcoin transaction speeds will only get slower because for each ledger record added to the block chain, the next hash needed will be much more mathematically complex and require more time to compute.


That's the flaw I think he is referencing.

I agree it needs to be faster in order to be embraced by the public- I mentioned this in the reply to Ibime. The Lightning network was created for this but it is yet to fully kick off despite the number of years spent to develop it. Other than that, it is air-right.

What's the latest news on the lightning network? Any projection when it might come into play? That will affect it's price significantly so useful to know. I don't think the public will care how fast the transactions are as it is all gobbledygook to them, what will get it widely adopted to compete with VISA/ PAYPAL etc is it will need to reach price stability. It is still a speculative instrument and no major platform will accept a medium of exchange with such price volatility.

On another note, can I pick your brain on some altcoins I am watching, if you have insight on their future prospects and how useful/ widely adopted they might come to be?

LYKKE- Stay very far away from it, its an exchange coin and exchange coin only prosper when there is better liquidity, LYKKE has been struggling for a while and nothing is going to change in the nearest future.

Except they introduce other usage for the token I don't see it ever becoming anything.


STEEM- very solid but it has just been acquired by TRON ( Justin son ) so there are a lot of uncertainties around it .. it's still a very very good project nevertheless with strong community

I don't know much about HIVE


Since you have MCO by Monaco you can also look into CRO by same Monaco they have a very big plan for CRO and all hands are in deck for the project CRO
. They are also heavily backing the CRO token to not fall below certain price. So I'd rather hold CRO compare to MCO because I believe MCO has peaked. You can always hold both
