Hello

For (2), try the following code when prompted:

56346

The code should unlock the stereo, however if it doesn't you can post the VIN here or send the VIN to CarGuideNG privately via WhatsApp

Contact details in signature.

Thank you very much, it worked.

That leaves me with the key fob. Anyone?

EOD is from 2003 - 2005.

The 4 cylinder automatic transmission, preferably a US spec

I know I mean 2002 accord or EOD 2005 which is easier to maintain

The top ones are not as important as 4 and 5 in the picture.

4 is the top dead center, the cam shaft must line up to each other (5) if not, it needs setting.

Thanks a lot
Had to replace both cams ,chain and adjuster for it to line up
Car now moves better only problem is there’s this strange noise between 2000 and 3000 rpm

In most cases, when repair work is done and power is improved, any new sound would be from crankshaft. It could be wornout crankschaft bearings or wornout crankshaft journal.

You just need a very good mechanic who can listen and accurately tell you the problem.

It depends on what is bad.

There are 3 type of bearings; main, conrod and trust bearing. The last is a rare occurrence.

If the sound is from main bearing or journals, your engine must be dropped for a repair or replacement bearing or crankshaft but if it is conrod, that is easily replaceable while still on the car.

It is not easy to diagnose but an experienced mechanic can listene and differentiate.
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by SpeedRacer(m): 7:14pm On May 15, 2020
You know anyone you can recommend to me . Because The guy that assisted with changing the camshafts is saying the noise isn’t coming form there but I think it is and the sound was never there before replacing the cams chains and adjuster.
Engine replacement isn’t an option with this economy

What am telling you is a likelyhood of which I experienced.

I have not listened to it, so my suggestion is not to be taken as a diagnosis which I cannot possibly do remotely.

I cannot recommend a mechanic because of location difference.

Lastly, what did your mechanic say is the problem? Did he check valve clearance after last job?

Can someone prescribe where I can get my Honda scanned in Ibadan.

Car jerks aggressively at idle with gear in drive and AC on. Had to tune up the RPM to get to idle properly now RPM is on 1000 instead of 600 it used to be.

This is impacting fuel economy, Check engine light is on as well.

Hello. Have you been able to scan?

Basically, thats the expected diagnosis.

I have gone down the repair road, I must confess, it is possible but the road is bumpy.

The issue here is that, the last crankshaft I bought for the car was 40k and bearings were 15k. You will spend anywhere between 80-100k to repair with no guarantees. Experience of the mechanic matters even more than the money you will spend. So if the mechanic cannot give you a guarantee, am afraid, just look for 250k and save yourself the headache and possible loss of 100k.

Hi guys,

A friend of mine needs a minivan for commercial use, after searching for the best make to go for, we finnaly settled for Honda Odessey, we actually wanted to go for Nigerian used sienna but still, it was too expensive compared to our budget, so we had to choose between Honda Ody 2002, Nissan quest 2004 and Mazda mpv.

So after comparing all the 3, we finally settled for Honda Odessey 2002, we found someone who wants to sell he's, the price is within our budget and from pictures, the minivan is still clean but however, he said the car is automatic transmission and the only problem the car has is that it doesn't change/shift gear on time, but he said he will fix it and we will pay 470k for the minivan, but if we are going to fix it ourselves, we will pay 450k, and from the pictures he sent, I saw the minivan has already done over 224 000 in mileage.

Please am a total novice when it comes to cars and so is my friend, we don't want to end up with something we will only use for a few months and problem will start..

Please your advice is needed, is this car good to go for or should we run away from it??

Please see picture of mileage below

if you can't afford the Sienna, it is better to buy the Mazda mpv than the Odyssey and the quest.

The Odyssey in question has a factory fault of gear failure for the 4speed which is 99 to 03 model year. The Odyssey body falls apart and doesn't do well in water logged areas as it start rusting by the tip. The car rear isn't strong for cargo hauling at full load your exhaust go hear am cheesy

It is advice able you rather search for Honda shuttle/Isuzu Oasis they are basically same thing. The shuttle is far reliable than the Odyssey.

Check your power steering oil containers, it's often neglected by car owners & technicians. When dirty, it pushes dirt into the pump causing damage and failure.
More tips coming.
I have even experienced that of steering racks changes twice with my Honda halla and Honda shuttle, though, have concluded that Honda cars has that problems, my brother too changed his pilot steering racks too
