Nigerian army dont need this kind of coward , social media starlet soldiers . I hope they will make an example of him . this kind of video is more effective than all boko haram videos propaganda .

I see that there are too many photos of Nigerian soldiers on social networks with their faces uncovered and sometimes in operation . in algerian army for soldiers taking pictures is forbidden specially during operation, it's direct the prison for you . only official military media can release pics and videos . or only during exposition for public and even when some photo leaks, they blur their faces so as not to have problems

information warfare is very important against guerrillas, terrorists and even in classic wars

Yeap you’re totally right.
This is deferent; if you want to resign do something else that wouldn’t lead you to jail !
If you’re not been to any tour in the part of the country forget about resignation, people who have completed their 3-4-4 years tour can try there luck.
The Harmonised Armed Forces Terms and Conditions of Service (HTACOS) suspension thing his just for the time being.

Flash
Army
The Troops of Combat Team 1, Operation KANTANA JIMLAN on long range admin patrol along Buni Yadi – Buni Gari axis encountered multiple Improvised Explosive Devices and Boko Haram Terrorists’ ambush, eight kilometres ahead of Buni-Gari in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State on the 18 of May 2020.
Two soldiers paid the supreme price and three other soldiers sustained injuries as a result of the IED explosion. Additionally, a recovery truck, one troops carrying vehicle and a water tanker that ran into the IED were destroyed by fire. Three terrorists were neutralized while unconfirmed number escaped with various degrees of injury.
However, due to mental snap/distress occasioned by fog of war, two of the soldiers who escaped the IED and terrorists’ ambush recorded the incident with uncomplimentary remarks, about the Nigerian Army and her leadership, which was released on the social media. Although this kind of outburst is expected in war, the soldiers involved have been identified and would undergo observation and counseling.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria will remain unwavering in its quest to end the terrorism and will do everything possible to ensure there is no repeat of this kind of traumatic incident/outburst.
The Military High Command commends troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE for their unwavering determination, hard work and resilience.

Excuse my ignorance, but if the video depicts successful ambush, why are there soldiers walking around playing to the Social Media Crowd that love to encourage them to dissert the army? They, Nigeria soldiers, seem so vulnerable out there crying and looking lost and easy to mow down by the ambushing forces. Perhaps I’ve watched too many movies in which when soldiers meet an ambush like this they are usually picked off by the force that lay the ambush. In short, where are the Bokoharam terrorists that apparently successfully set the ambush? If the Nigerian forces entered a minefield, which is what it seems like, why are they moving about so casually wailing and not moving cautiously? And aren’t minefields unfortunately part of the historic reality of the NE as in many other conflict arena, so why this reaction?

ISWAP actually released, allegedly, very gory pictures of the attack. They claimed 4 soldiers were killed in the IED explosion.

And yet the Nigerian vehicles on Fire are not in line, it’s like very lucky positional placing of those IEDs (I guess I imagine IED’s as explosives deployed roadside)

in other words, over such broad land how did our vehicles find the IDE's?

TROOPS ambush Terrorists today in Borno

To laymen like me, this vid fulfils some of our impressions of what an ambush may be like: there are Bokoharm vehicles on fire, Boko terrorist dead litter the earth, sporadic gunfire suggest Boko are still being gun down (although it could just be soldiers firing into the air in jubilations) the scene is hot; but the first vid depicting Nigerians solders ambushed, is dead and if the reason for this is that the battle is long since finished then the soldier lamenting smacks of being affected – in other words, for political considerations. The fact that the vehicles are still vigorously flaming suggests something fresh although I do not know the scientific facts concerning what the duration is for vehicles laden with fuels.

The soldiers in the video r suffering from what is known as shell shock

A sudden traumatic event , like an IED going off and one being unfortunate enough to be in the recieving end even without any physical injuries will led to a highly disturbed state of mind due to the immense over pressure and shock wave . They break down , fear clouds the mind , body refuses to follow the mind , the mind looses the ability to reason.

And if one gets to see his colleagues dead and dying , it simply overwhelms him psychologically.

And in that state one would not give a fuk about mines or getting killed. Some even kill themselves.

And sometimes the victims never come out of it . They r no longer the same persons. It becomes a part of their lives. Nowadays they got a new term for it PTSD. It's related.

So no movies don't even cut close

To some extent I agree with you and I also disagree.
Having 24/7 ISR and with all weather capabilities does not see hidden IED and cannot stop you from getting hit by IED.
For ambush threats ISR assets can stop or alert you of the danger head. Bro let’s be real with ourselves you can’t be getting this kind of capabilities every time. Even the western and European developed armies don’t get all this capabilities when they’re on patrol, mopping up operations or advancing into enemy territories.
I have been in a situation that there was ISR asset overhead and there was wave and wave of air bombing but this bastards keep coming and coming from no where !
We had serious KIA and WIA that day, honestly I’ll say those guys did well yesterday by repelling the attack and still keeping the casualties at minimal.
I don’t just see why that soldier who do such video, sometimes I wonder where are the commanders.

I have never been in that position, and I cannot claim to understand the trauma he is currently under, but that kind of video can demoralize the entire army fighting in the North-East.

You're doing more for BHT than anything their own propaganda can ever achieve.

Don't forgot that the terrorists have been on the back foot.

I have said this before the first casualty of war is the TRUTH.

Fake news and propaganda have always been part of the antics of war.

However, you cannot hide the truth from those right in the heart of it. We can hype the COAS as many are doing here and say PMB is doing a great job. But the soldiers on the battlefield on the ground not only know the truth but painfully feel it with the blood they spill each day.

And many here will rather adopt the spin than face the truth. And speaking the truth makes you unpatriotic and a traitor to some.

Procurement was made and BMP1 and other armoured vehicles and equipment air lifted straight to the SE.
