Nowenuse: Which aniocha oshimili. You said you schooled in uniben with ur head didn't you notice they were more urhobo in uniben. Ask anyone around urhobo are going to schools though they are still many people who don't go to school that's the problem with a big population. Who the hell is aniocha/oshimili. Only ika (agbor) have ground in the entire delta north. Then asaba. Asaba is a shadow town to onitsha. It can never grow pass a level. In fact it's an annex of onitsha, most of the buildings and business in asaba are owned by the igbos then urhobo before you see agbor. Aniocha/oshimili have no impact whatsoever in local politics. They may have Lagos base elite.. Obiaruku neutralize abraka. People that used to transport to abraka to withdraw money from atm Kwale no difference between kwale and that village ogwash. Delta North got three major urban centers asaba (igbo colony now with just govt house) agbor, obiaruku. Others kwale Is it the delta north that like school too. |

Mystiquefia: Education Generally Deltans are one of the most educated minded people in the whole of Southern Nigeria. But in this regard we have to give it to the Aniomas as there is no family from that area without someone with a masters or PhD degree. Aniomas were among the first educated people in Southern Nigeria by virtue of Onitsha. Most Aniomas at that time attended schools like Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, which was established in 1925. St. Thomas College, Ibusa (1928) St. Charles College, Onitsha (1929) Whereas their urhobo counterpart got exposed to education in the early 1940s. The first school in urhobo land was Urhobo College, Effurun which was established in 1946. Aniomas boast of professors like Obi Prof Joseph Chike Edozien, the Asagba of Asaba. Professor Emmanuel Nwanze, former VC of uniben. Etc. Also we can't leave out the fact that the famous Olaudah Equaino the first black man to write a book hailed from Ashaka in Anioma. Political relevance Anioma also trumps in this aspect as far as Nigeria is concerned. They have held sensitive positions in the past. They boast of notable names like Dennis osadebe who was the first premier of the Midwestern region and he was also the leader of the movement to create the Mid-Western region during the Nigerian First Republic. He also held the position of the Senate president from 1960 to 1963. We should not forget Ngozi okonjo iweala who i describe as the most powerful black woman in today's world. You can check Wikipedia for her CV. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ngozi_Okonjo-Iweala Even in this current regime they hold the most posts. Godwin emefiele holds the position of the governor of central bank of Nigeria. His deputy also hails from Anioma. That's mad ass political relevance Human capital development There is a reason why the Managing Directors of most firms and organisations hail from Anioma. Aniomas control about 50% of the banking and finance sector in Nigeria. IGR and GDP It is Crystal clear that the urhobos beat the Aniomas in this aspect Industrialization Urhobo 60% Anioma 40% Warri is currently more industrialized than Asaba although Asaba is fastly catching up. Urhobo boast of towns like ughelli, sapele, Abraka whereas Aniomas boast of towns like Agbor, kwale, obiaruku. Asaba is also expanding into towns like ibuzo and okpanam. Don't forget most Anambra indigenes now build houses in places like Asaba. This might give Anioma an edge in the future as both Asaba and onitsha are twin cities. Entertainment Urhobo 50% Anioma 50% Urhobos are mainly found in the comedy part of the entertainment industry. They have produced comedy greats like I go dye, I go save, Ali baba, Akpororo etc...Warri is the home of comedy in Nigeria. Aniomas are mainly found in the Nollywood area Of entertainment. They have produced veterans like Enebeli elubuwa, Emeka ossai, Francis odega etc... Also asaba is the home of Nollywood. Sports Anioma 65% Urhobo 35% Anioma lead by a wide margin. It is rumored that people from that area churn out the most athletes in Nigeria. They have produced greats like Stephen keshi: Former captain of the super eagles Took Togo to their first world cup The second person to win the afcon as a player and as a coach The first black man to take a country past the group stage of the world cup etc Sunday oliseh Jay Jay okocha Nduka ugbade Joel obi Wilfred Ndidi Chidi odiah etc Urhobos are also not lacking in this area as they have produced talents like blessing okagbare, Augustine Eguavoen, oghenekaro etebo, Tammy Abraham etc. All in all the two groups are wonderful and unique people but we just have to give it to the Aniomas. The amount of the human resources from that area is mind blowing. Too many great brains from that region. A region that produced the largest ground troops during the civil war. A region that produced warlords like Joe achuzia, Nzeogwu, onwuatuegwu, okwechime, Albert okonkwo etc A region that produced wonderful brains like Tony elumelu, Jim ovia, Nduka obaigbena, Benedict Peters, Austin avuru ojunekwu, Pat utomi, Ibe kachikwu etc is not to be joked with. 5 Likes |

Nowenuse:coward Nnamdi Azikiwe that foolishly sold the South to the North? conceding the prime minister position to northerners. Azikiwe and Ironsi foolishly trade the future of Igbo's to northerners. their thirst for power made them took power to the center when we were enjoying our federal structure and Igbo's have continue to pay for that foolishness. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Nowenuse: Greetings Nowenuse. One fact about the urbanization of Delta Central is the contributions of not only the Urhobos but Isoko, Ijaw and itsekiri who mostly dominate the oil sector, Most see Urhobo land as their major place of investment, hence the swell in population and urbanization. While Asaba can compete with Uvwie/Udu/Okpe/urhobo parts in Warri, it's no where near these places in terms of IGR, income flow and Industrialization, although Asaba is far more organized. As far as oil remains our major income, no place in Delta can compete. Agbor is in the same league with Agharo, Obiaruku sees Abraka as their major town, most come in to work then go back on a daily basis. Aniomas are trying when it comes to Education, but I still think it's a tie between Deltans. I give it to Enuanis though, I noticed they have this zeal for education as far back as the early 60's, but in recent decades, every one is catching up. Oil messed things for us which somehow had a negative impact on our mentality, the free money made some of Us reluctant but Urhobos from Agbon, Ughelli etc aren't really affected by this free money mentality, people from that angle are far more educated and hardworking. 2 Likes |

Apart from anambra and maybe Enugu people, the aniomas are the most powerful Igbo groups, I sometimes envy them in their dominance in banking sector and polical spaces despite their small population and non oil. Anioma best urhobos in everything except industrialization which is due to urhobo proximity to oil. 1 Like |

Efewestern:Agbor isn’t in the same league with abraka. Agbor is a residential town , it has a college of education and pioneer nursing school, Abraka is a village , without students abraka is dead . Ogwashi is even more urbanized than Abraka . Ogwashi is also a town with or without it’s students , the school area is very far from the residential parts and it’s very active with or without students . U can’t compare abraka with Agbor or ugwashi . U just Can’t . Even in land mass they r not mates , both Ogwashi and Agbor are local government head quarters , abraka isn’t . Abraka is a village 4 Likes |

Honestly the abundance of human resources in Enuani is unparalleled. If not because our SE Igbo kinsmen have a larger population and of course the Igbo gene generally strives for excellence, Anioma would have closed the gap with our Igbos East of the Niger by now. But Igbo bu ofu, whether East or West of the Niger we're one. 2 Likes |
