Why not just allow for TRUE FEDERALISM? Where everything and everyone is independent with checks and balances ofcourse. Instead of this selective approach. Anyone is a good step |

This is why strong will is necessary for credible leadership. Instead of going back n forth with the useless governors, sign the bill and everybody takes a chill. This is a good move and pdp should know better not to criticize a bill as popular as this. Next, we need financial autonomy for INEC 5 Likes |

Ordinary judicial and legislative autonomy, which should be fulcrum of a federation, politicians are against, and you think they would support financial and political autonomy aka restructuring and resource control. Even the local governments rejected their own financial autonomy from state governors. Nigerians politics is mainly about self interest rather than group interests. 5 Likes |

Lostz:You are right.... but, it would go all the way to the Supreme Court, which can take a few years. The status quo will be maintained (meaning the executive order will be in force) while the case works it's way up the Supreme Court. 5 Likes |

Governors should take a chill. This is not an empire but democracy. Ever since they surreptitiously bundled LGA, State Legislative assembly and judiciary unto themselves they become too powerful and controls many things. That's why the mixed feelings about state police. 3 Likes |

Lostz: And you think Buhari will listen to any High Court? If you wish well for Nigeria and for yourself, you will praise Buhari for this James Bond move. Recall that he has earlier signed an Executive Order granting autonomy to Local government. This is the type of Restructuring that I clamouring for. Let State Governors too sponsor bills for more independence of the States and Resource Control. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Nobody with his right thinking sense will support the governors here,am not surprised seeing some foo**l on the front page castigating the president without reading the article. PMB actually play smart here,if it passes through national assembly am sure those former governor enjoying their retirement at the red chamber will never support it,the best he can do is to give the executive order. Nigeria's governor always behave like emperor, they control the judiciary, they control the legislature and also remote the local government chairmen as they like, this is era of democracy for goodness sake,we can't continue like this and think Nigeria will get better. 12 Likes |

Let us appreciate the unseen hands behind this executive order: it seems the President's new secretary is advising him well. Does the national assembly not enjoy financial autonomy? Let this happen at the state level let me see how these governors would continue to misbehave. Please if it has not been done yet, local government allocations shouldn't pass through those governors. That PDP governor saying the executive order is tantamount to dictatorship no go pass Wike. The governor who said it cannot be done by fiat no go pass El Rufai, and the journalist just said north-east so they no go pin am. How can I not want my name printed and you are saying where I come from? Let me see the governors with balls that can take the Presidency to court. 4 Likes |
