I'm more of a fixed income person, although I started just last two years. I'm too lazy to learn about equities, stock, etc for now.

I think Theconglomerate has a point though. Some guys do what he's proposing. Maybe I should just sell my corolla and buy a Benz to join That Line of business. Hahaha.

You can make a lot of more in fixed income by compounding but it usually takes time i.e 10-15yrs. Most people use it as their retirement fund.

Are there really many under 30 like me on this thread?

It is only old, tired men that invest in all these instruments with mad volume of cash generated while they were our age from the real economy.
When I see all these 2million people here talking investments in fixed income I know that they are really slow in the head undecided
It's better to use that your money and buy a big mercedes so you can look for a rich girl to deceive in your youth than to invest 2m for 200k PA... grin grin grin
Atleast the girl go pay you in the long run grin grin grin

This might seem funny but it is the truth. It happens a lot in Abuja and Lagos Island.

Women need to wise up
Women won't ever wise up,this is a very old industry.
So long as women still crave marriage and have that Cinderella wedding as part of their programming, boys will continue to swindle them especially as they grow older.
The older the more vulnerable grin
Older women pay scatter, they can pay fire grin
If you see single woman that is comfortable in her late thirties or widow, omo you don jam cow weh carry milk for breast ooo grin grin

Tell me this...

Is Warren Buffet a Genius or someone who just consistently kept investing?

They said he started investing at the age of 13, now he is 89. Hmmn... 76 years difference.

If you compound 1 million naira at the rate of 10% per annum, in 76 years that money will be almost 1.4 billion naira. Take from that what you will.

The idea that everyone should try to make money fast doing? Is I don’t know. All economies have a fixed amount of money. Meaning for you to make a lot of money some other people have to not make money like you do. Not everyone’s business will succeed because of that. We can’t make more than the economy has. There can’t be 100 Dangote’s at the same time, e no fit work!

So let people invest in what they know and start from where they understand, with time they will grow! I can bet many here have jobs and are also investing in their Skills and careers! The 10K they invest monthly will be 100K monthly one day and then 1 million one day.

Seems what Barrytone and the other guys keep explaining here is not getting through to people’s head.

Very true.
But then I was just letting them know that their 2m investment in fixed income won't make them rich..
So far as they know this and they know what their return will be without being deluded with statements like their 1million naira will turn to 1.4B naira in 76years,then I've got no issues with it.
After all, some people were created to lag behind which is why capitalism is the successful model it is today wink

You are not getting me sir. 76 years was the Warren Buffet time difference.

In your case 20 years with enough compounding from your salary and not just a single 1 million naira will make a difference.

I didn’t say continuous adding of money o. I said 1 million compounded annually at 10% for 76 years. There is a lot to learn from that. Not death, lol!

No try that Ireland especially for someone with limited means like you say.
I get homies there but their parents get money so after their studies they have a soft landing spot back here in Nigeria.I don't think you have that,do you?
They are very backward people and are racist meaning they won't even hire a motherland nigga(hardly) so it is very certain you are coming back home after you postgraduate studies to come start afresh again undecided
Go Canada thread I think that 14k you talk about is enough, forget engineering if you ask me.
Look for short professional programs you can do and cash out early like nursing.
One year plus max and you start making 30bucks an hour rather than that engineering you are calling that no one might hire you,you don't even have the funds to study it or they deport your ass immediately after studies to the shithole.
Better than go Ireland in your case better use that money open shop,it will always pay you on the long run if you are serious and consistent.

You are absolutely right. Ireland will help him waste his life . Glad to see honest people talk .

Everyone knows this. Some people are good at working and building their careers.

One day they will get to a stage they can invest a million every month.

Some people na business, they can keep reinvesting in their business.

The lesson here is learning what works for you. Not what others say works for them.

Ireland is a home to all ethnic compared to Africa where their racism among themselves are from the pit of hell...once you're law abiding citizen you're good to go. I became an Irish citizen within 5years of my arrival.
