makano:They are same points: OND + HND, OND + B.Sc, B.Sc + PGD, PGD or additional stuff could be ATS, CIMP, CIIN, pre or post undergra etc (make sure you use, do or did an assessible one). Masters and PHD can stand alone. B.Sc did stand alone for threshold points for draws back in the day, now unless for PNPs or for activity at the bottom rung. Some people even do B.Sc + Masters claiming NOC and degree requirements for some provinces-believeable, conversions, others do/did out of low knowledge or 'stronghead'. Professional degrees are standalone, please check them on page 1 or RRC site. |

AJLB: a. Use the name on your passport. Im assuming you have done one with your married name. If you have then just use that as its your new name. b. Depends on what name you used as an undergrad. If you were still single then, then use your maiden name. As a follow-up to link both names. Send a message to wes through the contact form, state your reason for different names and send your change of name affidavit to them by fax. After doing this, your WES report will show your present name. Hope this helps |

Mamaroon: As in, I was too surprised to see the moniker again, but that's life, naija patriotism is not worth dying for jawe. Thanks a lot, no I haven't heard from them, although I raised another CSE/Webform some days ago, they haven't gotten back on that. I am assuming the delay is due to the Festive period, and hopefully, they will respond once they return. Also, just for the information in case you're in the same boat, there's this group on canadavisa where an Inland/CEC applicant actually called and he was informed they have started issuing PPR for inland(which truly started last week), and outland to begin June 3rd or so. But, just like any information on the internet, one needs to take it with a pinch of salt. I am very hopeful and praying hard that the June 3rd story is true. I hope this is helpful. And, I'll like to thank you for reading. 8 Likes |

makano:BSc, ACCA, MBA etc can be evaluated but you will only get point for the MBA which is the highest qualification. People usually do CIMA, BCS and other certifications to augment their points. The point for combining two or more certificates e.g BSc + CIMA, OND + HND is higher than only BSc. And in this process, PhD carries the most point under educational attainment. Followed by MSc/MA/MBA and some professional degrees like Pharmacy, MBBS, and LLB (if IQAS is used in evaluating). With all this said, it is not important to evaluate your BSc, ACCA alongside your MBA as they won't add any extra point than what the MBA would bring. Also, the time you will use to get the transcript for BSc, ACCA from the awarding institutions to the evaluating body might prolong the evaluation time beyond necessary. Do you get this now? 3 Likes |

sesan01:Hello, do you stay in the US? What have you noticed about your VO that made you suspect it might be the same for those that applied in the US? I'm asking because I just found out Montreal VO processes most applications from US and desperately praying mine dosent fall under that category because my medicals will expire soon, just after projected date of completion. Thanks |

WeAreDLucky1s: Cool. All the best with everything. I guess IRCC are also probably also thinking about how transmitting passports will work i.e. syncing with VFS who might require appointment for everything going forward, when they eventually re-open (#social distancing things). 1 Like |

Naxavi: I do not think this should be a problem, all that is needed is your marriage certificate, just try to update each other's picture on social media coz they will deff do background checks . 1 Like 1 Share |

Hi everyone. What does it mean when they say the background verification, security background and criminal background are all valid in the reply of a CSE. Does that mean all documents are cleared? |

Theta1:Hi. Do you already have the PhD or thinking about starting one? If "no", I think BCS would be more advisable given the relative short time it takes to complete compared to PhD. Between, before thinking of a PhD, I believe you must already have a Master's degree. So what exactly do you need PhD or BCS for if I may ask. 1 Like |

Theta1: Why compare a whole PhD to BCS that is equivalent or not even up to a BSc? Or do u think by attaching NOUN to it makes it inferior? If your question is about getting more points, go for phD if you are ready to remain patient for another 4 - 5 years. 2 Likes |

Wendyok:Hi. To your questions: 1) Writing IELTS by you two doesn't change anything in as much as you use your given name(s) to register for the test. So you know, IELTS is valid for 2yrs and changing your name at any point after you must have taken the test with a particular name doesn't invalidate the result you get from the test as long as you do your change of name legally and you have necessary documents to show for it. 2) You can add him to the process at anytime as long as you two are married legally (court wedding). But the thing is: if you add him before you get invitation to apply "ITA", your CRS point will reflect his position which in most cases will reduce. Except both of you are below 30, have MSc or "two or more certificates" and score the CLB 7 (LRWS: 8, 7, 7, 7) in your IELTS. In that case, your overall CRS must be high enough to fetch ITA once they start FSW draws again. But if you two get married after you must have submitted your eAPR - application, his addition won't reflect on your CRS point again. 3) On waiting to get married to start the process, that is definitely an option for you but the question of "time" is what you need to think about. ECA takes between 3 to 8 months to complete. IELTS is also there. So how soon can all of this be put together? Not to forget that when you submit your application, you will have to wait between 3 to 12 months again to be approved. I hope you can see reasons not to delay starting the process especially when you have the resources to deploy now? I will also advise you to read page 1 of this thread. Because the questions you raised here have been answered there by people at one time or the other. Reading that if you have not done so already will give you a better understanding of what is expected in this process. Cheers. 3 Likes |
