"Baba, talo bere ẹjọ, clarification lọwọ yin" loosely translated means "Baba, who asked you, for clarifications" It seems you have loads of spare time to begin indulging in mischiefs and providing unsolicited information.

You're just getting inflamed over nothing my friend! cheesy

Whether you like it or not

Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT, CANNOT and CAN NEVER be your brothers in FAITH, PERIOD! cheesy

Myer:
How do you even rate spiritual gifts?
The one you rate 0 or 1 could be the most important gift in a dire situation.
There are 9 manifestations of the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Rating zero or 0/9, is giving allowances for either I don't know, I have no idea, I don't want to stretch my neck out, I don't want to publicly commit myself to seeing I have rated the gifts, the bible hasn't rating any to be greater than the other, I prefer to keep quiet on each ones importance et cetera

Rating 1/9, means, the gift given this rating, is the lowest in importance out of the 9 manifestations of the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Is it now clear? Capisce?

Nobody is getting inflamed. Have you seen the fire brigade turn up ni. Or you've heard their siren.

Nobody gives a rat arse about you or JW. Why you bothered to try to sling in that "waasi" rant and rave, is just humorous, thats all

Never mind me Sir, after all the book itself is contradictory (according to Myer) so there shouldn't be a surprise when an adherent is behaving funny! cheesy

Lol I call it as it is.
I'm not bound by any religious creed not to be able to speak the truth.

It's you who sees the obvious contradictions in the bible and even in your organisation but you dare not speak. Otherwise you'll be castigated.

JW as an organisation is a byproduct of the extreme effect of the contradiction of the bible.

Example of which is this thread, while every one else believes in spiritual gifts, your leaders managed to impose their misinterpretation on you that 1 Corinthians 13:8 means spiritual gifts have ceased.
Does that not contradict the very essence of spiritual gifts in the bible? Mark 16:17-18

Does this thread or writeup rather contradict spiritual gifts? Spiritual gifts wasn’t the focus of the writeup. The focus was the type of “tongues” practiced in the Corinthian church as it is done in many churches today. Did Augustine, Martin Luther, Charles Spurgeon, D.L. Moody, William Booth, Charles Wesley, John Wesley, speak in “tongues” as it is done today in Pentecostal Churches, C&S, and CCC? The writing was to serve as a stumbling block and if you stumbled, the Lord knows why.

OKAY, now i understand you Sir!

What JW Organization are echoing can't be grouped as prophesying because they are just contemplating on the fulfilment of prophecies written in God's word!

What Paul was saying is that the gift of prophecies will end when all what God had in mind for the future has been carefully documented. That's the import of the last four verses of the Bible when God said
"NO ADDITION and NO SUBTRACTION!" Revelations 22:18-19

So it has been done away with Sir! What we're doing now is watching out for the fulfilment of Bible prophecies.

NO MORE PROPHECIES OF ANYTHING NEW! smiley

The arrogance of ignorance.

You believe the book of revelation was the last prophecy because those who arranged the bible made it the last book? cheesy Please stop.

Have you even heard of canonisation?

It's difficult having any intelligent conversation with anyone from JW. Your organisation already warped your mind with years of misdoctrinations.

You misunderstand.
I was referring to him specifically.

While everyone else on this thread believes in spiritual gifts, his organisation doesn't, and with scriptural reference too. Hence the contradiction.

Although, there's a contradiction in Acts 2 and 1 Corinthans 14 about whether tongues are known or unknown right?

It takes being open minded to see the contradictions.
I used to not want to see them too.

My friend, you need not worry yourself over whatever anyone believes about this book, you said it's full of Contradictions.

So whatever anybody feels, think, say or do about this book should be a welcome development, at least from what you've concluded on the this book ! cheesy

Hmmmmmmmm,

I think all those people you mentioned don't have the spirit of God because they never spoke in tongues Sir! cheesy

The truth will never contradict itself!

All these gift were for a purpose in the first century, and once that purpose has been met the gifts are no more needed!

Martin Luther King said "I had a dream"

But today a Churchgoer Pastor will attach the title "Prophet" to his name afterwards! cheesy

I didnt actually miss the joke, what I've done is go ahead of you. Its true we both are speaking the truth, however the disagreement is because I am aware you believe there are existing from the original texts inconsistencies and contradictions in the Bible, when there is nothing of the sort in the original text(s)

Nobody actually wanted to be identified with our founder too! John 9:22 compare to Act 24:5

As for the unwilling tolerance, it's because America has declared freedom of speech, expression and worship, otherwise we know you and your cohorts will not spare us after knowing we won't flow along with you! Act 4:18, 5:28

Jesus sent out his followers as "FISHERS OF MEN" so you're 100% correct about the men caught by Jesus' disciples! Luke 5:10 wink

But even the Hebrew language and Greek also have multiple interpretations of the same words/sentences.

Why do you think there's a myriad of bible translations?

Stop comparing yourself to Christ or his disciples in the bible. Your very nature only reminds everyone of the Pharisees and Saducees who also felt they were more righteous than everyone else.

It seems you put the bold as to be a future events even from context of 1 Cor 13, I hope tongues and revelation are also seen as same by you since they were used in the same explanation as prophecy. We can conclude there is still TONGUES AND REVELATION, but not of speaking or revealing new things. Just thinking!!

I’m sorry about my response then. Now concerning the man behind the name 69, I think your approach to him is misplaced; do you know why? Do you remember when Jesus spoke to the woman at the well, He dealt only with her sin? when she saw that she was being ripped apart, she wanted to turn the discussion away from her personal life and let it become a church vs church talk - “Our fathers worshiped on this mountain; and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship." That is what you and Muttleylaff are doing; you are playing on his turf. It would be acrimonious conversation in the end...so you have to take him to your turf.

Jesus, Pharisees, Saddusees, Scribes and the rest are Jews Sir!
