My advice to undergraduates is that you should start your search now. Make up your mind and invest your time into it. If If you want to go to a country that don't speak English, start learning their language immediately.


You might have 1 or 2 years left in university. If you start preparing early I can assure you that everything will be smooth when you are about to travel. If it's not an English speaking country, start learning the language immediately. You'll be very far in a year time. Nothing is impossible, you just lack the passion.

If you've have already finished school. Start researching immediately and gathering information even if you plan on migrating in the next 5 years.

You cannot be too prepared.

This I realized a while back that things can only get worse. The facts are clear for all to see. Unimaginable fraud happening at the ministry of humanitarian affairs using 600 million a day to feed school children who are not in school. the country is Still unable to pass the 4000 megawatt mark of power generation since independence, security situation only getting worse instead of better. buhari looked us all in the face and lied that he will return fuel to 65 naira a liter, that 1 dollar will amount to 1 naira, that power generation is not rocket science therefore he will fix it within six months, that he will go tough on corruption. that a 3 million jobs will be created within his first tenure. Now with all these, who in his right senses will think that this country will be better? common sense will tell you that things will only disintegrate further. God knows I am planning my exit from this miserable country with no future

Is this what my four sons will also go through? In 2014 I decided I have had enough. I decided I was leaving. I migrated to Australia with my family.
Don't put yourself in harm way for any reason.
The problem of Nigeria is in the hands of Nigerians living in Nigeria.
Try starting a gate house in your village, everybody wants to profiteer from it. The bricklayer, the carpenter, the mason and even your brother who claim to be supervising on your behalf.
They are corrupt, morally bankrupt and selfish.
Everybody there thinks about himself and nobody is thinking about Nigeria .
You don't have to be the one to go there to change anything.

You can definitely find accounting jobs. Your CGPA is very good which is also a plus. There are jobs in every field, just that jobs in STEM are more.

STEM no be everything na, other fields are needed.

Damn, you have got an excellent CGPA. There are jobs in your field, though very competitive. I'm sure you will be fine. How about you sit and ace GRE test. trust me, you will get GA's position.

GRE we meet at last, I seriously know that a time would come where I just have to put my head down and really study for this GRE.

Before this post I was beginning to think that i am starting my research to early as am a 300l student of biochemistry, and I've been hopping to run my masters abroad (high hopes on Germany). I've gone through all the threads I've found on admission, student Life, and visa relating to Germany and other countries and I've gotten alot of information to guide me through, but I still couldn't just shake of the felling that it's quite early to make such plans, but thanks to this post and the comments here it has reaffirmed me that am in the right track.

Please OP I need a mentor to help advice and put me through some things.

Bro it's not too early o. It's an advantage sef to start learning the German language and to familiarize yourself with all the procedures. You can use this time to get all the visa requirements in place so that your journey will be stress free.
