Please ogas in the house. I would like to ask ,those years that company declares divident and 1 for 1 Bonuses. How was d price markdown because going by d recent formula in the house, price would have been equal to zero!! Just wondering!!

It can't be equal to zero. Just use the formula on any of the company that declared such coperate actions in the past, and u'll find out.
If u can put out any coy that declared a bonus of 1 for 1 plus dividend in the past, I'll help u run the computation to determine mark down price.

To illustrate;
Assuming a coy X declared a 1 for 1 bonus plus a N2 dividend, and each share of it(per equity) was sold for N50 at the close of market on qualification date or before mark down date, then using the formula...
Mark down price(Mp)= Pbm- [Pbm[Br/(Br+1) + Dd], Pbm will be 50, Br=1/1 while Dd= 2.
Hence Mark down price Mp= 50- [50 [1/1÷(1/1+1) +2]= 50- [50[1÷(2) +2]= 50- [50(1/2) +2]= 50- [25] +2= 50- 27= 23.
...so the mark down price for a coy that declared a 1 for 1 bonus plus N2 dividend and which was selling for N50 before mark down will be N23 !!

Like I said before, the important thing is to know how to use the formula well(proper rationalization)
I've already proven the accuracy of the formula with the VITAFOAM example(when it gave a 1 for 5 bonus and paid a 25k dividend for the 2018 calender yr), but I will still make an example of it with JULIUS BERGER at the close of market this Friday(qualification date)

Hope its clearer now.

Good evening people,

I currently have a stock trading account with United Capital and I want to open another one with Morgan Capital.

I saw a stock transfer form and I am not sure I understand it. Is it for me to transfer my shares from United Capital to Morgan?

Also, I have a CSCS account I opened with United Capital. If I move to Morgan does it mean that my United Capital account will be closed?

Pls help cry

The share transfer form you were asked to sign is for you broker to use in processing your signature specimen with CSCS in the likely case you qualify for a dividend and the registrars require it.

Morgan will provide you with a fresh CSCS number. However you may consider using the same CHN for both accounts.

(In my case, I had Dang.Cem in my Morgan and Greenwich accounts and I expect to get dividends from both because they share same CHN.)
I hope this helps.

Something isn't right with the ASI index calculation.

NBrew gained 10%. Stanbic, Guinness, Dangote Sugar gained almost/or 9%.

Dangote cement was amongst the gainers.

All banks gained well.

Yet the index increased by 0.07%.

The index needs to gain nothing less than 2% with all these heavyweights gaining.

House
ignore stone throwing and digest this food for thought.

Warren Buffett’s famous first rule of investing is ‘never lose money’. His second rule, of course, is ‘never forget rule number one’.
identifying investments where you can be sure that you won’t lose money in the current environment is however extremely challenging.
Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway currently has more than $130 billion in cash because it is finding it so difficult to find appropriate opportunities.
‘Preserving capital, at its core, is about maintaining the buying power of what you have.

Not really.
The heavyweights(mkt cap) didn't gain that much.
NESTLE closed flat(unchanged), MTN also unchanged after a slight intraday drop in price, AIRTEL also closed flat while DANGOTE CEMENT gained just ~2.46%.
When u factor in the fact that GTB, ZENITH and the other three 1st tiers were mainly the heavyweights that gained, then u'll see why the rise in index was marginal. ...of the FUGAZ, only ACCESS and FBNH witnessed maximum gains.
And don't forget that DANGOTE CEMENT was also marked down today, so that should take a bite from what would've been the start off point of the index to the opening and close of market.

U can do the estimate. wink cheesy grin

Let me share my experience.
Not all registrars require you to send a share transfer form.
First registrars and CardinalStone agreed to process my dividends without requiring my brokers to process a share transfer form for my FBN and WAPCO respectively. Only a signed copy of my E-mandate form was to be sent via email.
However, United securities requested that my broker process my share transfer form with CSCS in order for me to get my Dang Cem shares.
So, I’d advice that you contact the registrars for each of the stocks you’re expecting dividends to know what’s required of you.
NB: Many brokers have challenges processing shares transfer forms (signature specimen) during this lockdown period because they’re still working remotely, we hope things will continue to improve as measures are relaxed.

As per my observations, some banks will experience pullbacks in the coming days after which they will make new highs, I am expecting FBNH to pullback to up to 14%, Guaranty to about 12% and FCMB to about 7%. After these retracements , new highs will be hit, my readings are based on Elliott waves analysis. I might be wrong sha, lets see. grin grin grin cheesy cool
