Rider- calls me and immediately I pick up the first thing she says is where are you? I pretended like I didnt hear so she can repeat herself, She goes where are you again and I'm like I'm at ogba.

Next thing she says is drive down to lsdpc estate and I asked her where are you heading to, a long pause with errmmm I think ketu and I responded with seems you not sure, next thing she's like what's wrong with you I told you ketu.

I'm like madam pls try and get another driver and immediately cut the phone off. 2 mins later a guy called saying he ordered the ride for someone I just de laugh, say good afternoon where I de? Immediately told the guy I wont be going on the ride that she is free cancel cos she has no manners at all n doesnt know how to talk to people immediately the guy is like ok sorry about that.

If to say I mistakenly go on that ride na 1 star for end am and if you hear the girl voice be like 20 year old girl. No manners awon marlians mad people
Honestly I commend people like you and when ever I read disciplinary stories like I feel happy.

Most nigerians lack courtesy, manners, regards, respect and moral standards and some level of discipline needs to be install into them especially maybe in public.

That was how I got this bolt request today somewhere around Ogudu, actually a 2.3km PUD since its winter season I decided to do it.

Rider called with the usual "where are you, I'm running late" conversation.
Got to PU and GM says I'd arrived, he or I, can't really recall who called shall to communicate of my arrival. About 1min I saw a guy coming out of a building in front of me trying to open the car door to a Toyota muscle car parked in front of the compound he came out from, I was just watching them as they communicate while I broke and eat my cooked groundnut. He looked at his phone, raised his head looking at my direction. He started walking towards my direction, I could see him grumbling and demonstrating trying to say I should drive or should have driven down, he wanted to stop for me to drive down but suddenly walked to me. I was just observing him from a distance and within this time I'd already accessed, identify and categorized him to the kind of rider and the way I should relate with him.

He entered into the back seat through the left door while I started the trip, started my engine and was making a turn.

Me: Good afternoon, please do you have your facemask? Kindly put it on.
Rider: Please put on your AC I feel really hot, I dont have a facemask here I must have left it in the house.
I feel really hot what happened to you AC?
Me: we have to go back and get it, at this point I have already staryed turning, unless you don't want to go on thia ride with me because bolt instructed and advised we don't make use of AC this period and all riders must put on a facemask.
Rider: but I used bolt yesterday and the guy used his AC.
Me: thats him, I believe you where notified of the rules b4 making request for this ride unless you didn't read it.

He was quiet at this point as he knows he already lost the fight. Came down went inside and came back after about 3min.

Rider: I couldn't find my FM I'll buy on our way.
I was reluctant but let it not look like I dey stress over issue too much and base on d season I then continued on the ride and I noticed dude has calm down but i was just praying I don't run into lasmas or police due to him not using a fm.

Finally, I saw a shop somewhere around oregun where we bought a nice fm and the guy immediately put it on aince it was well packaged in a transparent nylon. I immediately turned on the AC then wide up.

I then told him, bro, all of this is for your own good and for our own safety because we could be arrested for you not putting on a fm in public. So please always make sure you have and use a fm when ever you're out of your house.

Trip ended, dude tx my money to me, showed me successful message, thanked me and left.

I remember when a guy sent a bolt driver to deliver certificate and they guy begin use uber app while on bolt trip for delivery.
The guy complained to bolt and bolt said d worst they can do is inform the driver to return certificate that the rules says clearly you must be in the car before you start a trip and that bolt is not a courier service.

So when it happened to me, ( I sent a package to my house price showed 800-1200 naira Card trip. When my guy end trip na 2,400 naira )
Na so I call bolt to complain the lady asked how many stops and I should give the routes we took?
I quickly said I slept off didn't know d routes . Because if I said it's a package they won't attend to it.
They did review and price change to 1,400 naira
You're a smart criminal and I categorise you to the many Nigerians that lack the moral standards and good behavior. Knowing fully well the rules if engagements you still went ahead to hoax it and because it bounced back at you you then acted smartly by telling lies twisting the situation to your own favor. Brother man, what you did was totally wrong, condemable and a restitution to that driver is needed by you else you must have committed a great sin against your creator, the driver and even the bolt coy because that act you carried out can or could have lead to that driver not been able to meet up to maybe his weekly remittance or family obligation.

My opinion though.

I would like to get more details to this trip, like;
Time, Actuat PU, final destination, how long will rider be spending b4 returning, how many riders are going and lastly I understand Ogun state does 3days on and 3day off per week on the lockdown and on that Friday which is gonna be a public holiday (democracy day) I believe the state should be open to lockdown.

Anti-Theft

I want to share an experience with you, I was to supervise the changing of Windshield for a customer yesterday, Hyundai Sonata 2011 Model. I drove the car down to Ladipo, the process of changing started with no issues whatsoever, After about one hour the changing was over and was about to leave when the car refuses to come to live.

The coming to live was not just cranking, but the car refuses to to even show Dashboard light, the only thing working was the horn. I was thinking it was the battery and guess what with all the batteries, the car didn't bulge.

So I called the owner to explain and was expect a threat from him and all, but he was calm and even was trying to proffer solutions to it.
At the end I resolve to calling a programmer to reprogram the car security system after concluding the car actually went into locked down mode.

So the reason I putting this forward was because I want you all to learn and understand the work of your anti theft system, the car went into lock down mode just because it detects a break-in from the windshield changing.

Always I repeat make sure you remove the battery if you are performing any major work on cars that the system is hyper sensitive.

Thank you

Make we no just go there,
So because driver wants to meet up he will now defraud people.
If d driver had said I can't deliver package if u are not going on d trip I will cancel and Move on. But he agreed and decided to play smart.
Trip of 30mins Eko hotel to surulere (no traffic at all). Trip Ended 2hrs... I had forgotten I sent something until I got alert. I simple told bolt fare displayed is diff for final fare. Bolt asked how many stops and route ? If there was no foul play dey will tell me oga dts ur fare.

For example I took a rider from bourdillion ikoyi he was goin to cms/ajah park.
We faced awolowo - falomo so I can go thru TBS and cms. But there was heavy traffic at falomo, so rider asked me to turn back let's go back thru boudillion to third mainland and use carter bridge cos he was late. Trip ended 1,400
2days later uber deducted 600 and said I had issue with a rider (route and all).
I wrote uber and explained how I took d normal route and rider asked me to turn back cos of traffic, less than 2hrs they refunded d 600 naira and apologized.
Some drivers are not sincere, always trying to play smart.

If I start telling you how many times drivers have tried to use sakamanje for me some I ignore and some I will tell dem I don drive on uber/bolt, before dey go apologize. na why if I hear driver say dem block or barn am I go like ask wetin he do.

Driver go see me near there car and quickly cancel trip and tell me why did u cancel sir? I go say I no cancel, then they will say oya let's do offline since it's cancelled. Why because dem no wan pay commission. Most time I will go on d trip because I know as e dey go.
I can go on and on
Driver go still want collect cash from me on card trip with bold face. bros leave am
Maybe not Nairaland drivers but drivers dey scam riders steady

This is another reason for block account, drivers needs to take note of, I have never heard they block people for this. Anyway I don't think it is a permanent block. You need to contact Bolt support, so that they can look into your matter. Set the radius on your app to 2KM so that you stop getting request from far distance and try as much as possible to limit client did not show and missed request

Question: Do you guys allow the 5mins to elapse before cancelling? Me I've been cancelling and nothing has happened (yet).

Went out when the cloud was getting dark hoping to get small change. Rain started heavily and was about turning back home when request entered. Called rider, number didn't connect. I was close to PU and I slide on "Arrived". If if not close to PU, I still do that once the number didn't go through. Later cancelled after 5mins.

Second request came in. I had to go and make a turn that would take me about 10mins for a (definitely) N500. I made the turn alright, but didn't stop at PU. Straight to my house.

Very true. Cos of AC. I weigh the body language of d rider as regards Ac. to protect ratings.

Cos a lot of them say they are not aware of d new rule involving use of AC.

So before I start trip, I politely chip in some side comments.

Me: we HV bin instructed to stop d use of AC now... But if you feel ..( won't finish statement,...) observing the rider's body language.

Rider case 1: keeps mute or says ehehen , I am not aware o. Decision tree: put on AC.

Rider case2: leave the AC n wind down windows its for our protection bla bla Decision: switch off AC.

Different categories of riders n level of safety awareness as regards Covid -19.

I understand how it feels to be cheated especially when you're ignorant of how things work but notwithstanding, it still doesn't justify a wrong doing. Let's call a spade a spade.

According to you driver knows the role of engagement relating to parcel carriage and still decided to go on the ride. My question is how sure are you about this claim of the driving being aware of that taxify role which makes them not to be a carriage agency or company? Because, honestly, I myself I was never aware of that role and I was not informed as well during my training with bolt. Don't attribute ignorant to whixh is not an excuse to this else you too are as guilty as charge or even with a greater charge than an ignorant person.

Another thing is apart from the fact that you lie to defend your act of breaking the role which you're aware of, did you try or related with the driver to know what happened and why the fare exceeded the normal amount? But because you think you're well informed, educated and experience/farmiliar with the modus operandi you instead reported the driver directly to his contractor. And now you went on to being the judge and at the same time the acuse and the lawyer with a conclusive assumption that particular driver used "sakamanji" and even stating reasons to why most drivers are barn.

Brother man, nobody is righteous and that includes you and me. And if things like such happens next time try to investigate b4 making conclusion and taking actions and judgment.

That young man could have missed his route maybe because he's new to the job of which I'm sure you will admit to have fallen victim to something similar during your early days in the hustle. How would you have felt had bolt or uber axed you for simple reasons like this just because a rider reported you thereby taking away or cutting short your only means of livelihood

Good or bad!

My opinion again. Please don't take it personal.

Respect brother man!!!

all I can say is that you should be careful about your rider did not show cancellations. Always try to check the percentage at the end of the day

About your question... yes I did cancel all trips after 5 minutes. Well I’m left with the option of doing only Uber but Uber no be work. I’ve moved on already.
