Nadheer15: I got into University of Ottawa and Mcmaster and Western waitlisted me . Pls NO MORE pm. Basically all you need to do is . Establish correspondence with the department /faculty of your choice. Preferably program cordinators or admissions officers. Make sure you ask questions so you are properly guided. If you need to secure a supervisor beforehand check their areas of interest and ensure your own aligns. Your sop will always be viewed by members of the graduate committee so sell yourself and interests well. Have your own funding just in case. Google best sop examples for graduate school. There is also lots of information on this platform that will help. God bless |

I will suggest to you and everyone else that is new to read and read at least this thread from page 1. This your question must have been answered. Asking if you'll get visa abi admission first? Haba na. This is why agents must always have clients. If we'll wanna study in world class institutes that canada have, there should be some fundamental level of resourcefulness that we should possess and it comes by reading first and asking questions afterwards. I think there's a list of countries and if you've lived in any of them for over 6 months, you should say so Jacktours: 1 Like |

Good morning everyone. So I got my letter of Admission this morning from Conestoga college Ontario, PGD cause I graduated from a polytechnic here in Nigeria. I was told to pay my acceptance fee to get the acceptance letter as well as deposit $1,000 so everything amounting to $1,500 which will be deducted from my tuition fee. The start date is September 8 2020. Wanna ask, is it possible to defer my admission to Jan '21? cause I'm considering the pandemic and the distance as well as inability to get study visa. If yes, must I pay the said $1,500 before deferring? Thanks |

please I need help I applied for my study permit on mar23/2020. I Scheduled an appointment for my biometrics a week after BT I couldn't travel to Lagos because of the Lockdown and up til now I'm yet to travel because of the interstate Lockdown. on Apr23 CIC sent me a mail that they are processing my application. in addition on may23 I received another mail from CIC that my application is in progress and abt 6points were highlighted on my application status such as: we do not need additional documents, we are processing your background check, we'll send you a mssg if this changes. lastly, we have not received your biometrics and so on. the school I applied to gave me an ultimatum until June 1 to give dem feedbk about IRCC decision on my study permit or else my admission will be cancelled, I emailed the school since I've not received a decision on my visa and 2weeks was added which is by June 15 today is 30thMay and decision has not been taken over my visa yet by CIC. my question now is is it because HV not done my biometrics thats why CIC hasn't taken decision over my visa. PLS, is there anyone here who has been able to do his or her biometrics capturing recently. is visa office at lekki now opened for biometrics capturing since the Lockdown has been eased . 1 Like |

Hello good day Well your application cannot proceed unless you get your biometrics done, and they haven’t opened to start taking biometrics. Hopefully they would open June...you just have to be patient till they open To take your biometrics damosh360: 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Luckymama: 3:23pm On May 30, 2020 |
Jacktours: There is a link on all of the questions in that questionnaire The link is in form of a question mark (?). If you click that question mark it gives you further information. In the case of this designated countries question it has to do with a list of countries that Canada has designated as countries from which if you are applying you need a medical report. Obviously Nigeria is on that list. But do your own findings as well by clicking on the question mark and reading the additional information. Usually if you click yes, amongst the forms that will come for you to fill will be a medical request form which authorizes them to request for and access your medical records. 2 Likes |

Faithyyyyy: Hello Faithyyyyy, Some of the short programs might be dependent on the previous academic background or not. You can research more on BCS, CIMA, CIIN, ACCA et al or visit the EE thread to ask questions, so not to derail this one. All the best 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by JustMellow: 6:23pm On May 30, 2020 |
Jacktours: Hello Jacktours, This question has always gotten some applicants convoluted. On the norm, medicals is required for applicants applying from most countries of the world i.e. Nigeria. The answer should be NO if you've not stayed in any other country other Nigeria for 6 months or more. And YES if you've stayed. Answering YES automatically creates a column in your GCKEY account to upload your medicals. If you answer NO, it won't rather medicals will be requested on a later date. It is the duty of the authorized panel physician to send the test result to IRCC. Also, a copy of the e-medical slip given to you can be sent to IRCC via Webform of Email. This is optional. Good evening gurus in the house My wife got admission for a Masters in Conflict Studies. We are writing the SOP now. She works in a school owned by Chinese as an English teacher in Asia. (She cannot show any document from her employer/school) (They never give from past experience… they will even sack the person if they know). The only document that can prove her employment is her Nigerian passport with a work visa and a work permit in the school name . The owner of the school never gives any document to foreign teachers. He pays their monthly salary in the bank (no pay slip), No ID card, No letter of introduction. So we are writing in the SOP that 1. She will give a one month notice to resign (so she is no more working a month after visa application). Or 2. She resigned already when she saw her admission letter to be a full time housewife because she wants to bond with her children (She will be away for 2 years so will miss them) and also to study online. Please is it a good idea? If not please advise…… Gurus in the house please help help help |
