It is the party members that will decide so if the Governor is not a good party man he is good as gone, but if it was a personal issue with person of Oshio and has the support of the party members then he will surely win, this is the same case with Ambode, how can u be an enemy to the majority that brought u to power? Obaseki is a goner if he doesn't decamp now to another party. This is first a party battle before the main election and the forces against him in the party are veteran politicians. His Deputy Shaibu and the SSG, Osarodion Ogie he is banking on are not strong enough to help him out. Out of 24 members of the House of Assembly, he has just 9 on his side. Obaseki was not strategic enough. He can't win this. 2 Likes |

ogbonti: you lie my bro. Politics is about setting you plans right and having the right people to support you. in this case I believe POI has made the right move at every stage. The problem Godwin Obaseki has is that he allowed, the selfish advise from Philip shuaibu and the SEc to the state government Mr Osarodion ogie to mislead him. if I were to be in Obaseki's position I would have acted as a fool in my first term. immediately I am sworn in for the second term, I will then begin to destabilize Oshiomole structure and then many people would have worked with him. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Esseite: My brother, which politician no be thief? They are all thieves. Oshiomole only said that then to further reduce the chances of Pst Ize Iyamu under PDP then. It was political talk and rascality. Leave them, they're all the same. It's just that it's obvious that Obaseki did not manage party leaders well. |
Re: More Trouble For Obaseki As Loyalists Plot To Abandon Governor by fistonme(m): 5:16pm On May 30, 2020 |
bankole200: Exactly! but Obaseki allowed himself to be carried away by advise from inexperienced politicians. He thought because he was called a technocrat, that makes him smarter than every other person in the room. He forgot that a good leader should be able to work with all shades and characters of people: The good, the bad and the ugly. He refused to heed wise counsel. instead he chose to throw away the baby and the water. In few days time before the election, many people here will be amazed how the governor will be dumped by those he felt are his trusted allies. 2 Likes |

ogbonti: you are funny. don't forget certain matches are won even at the end of the first half. the only wait for them to come back in the second half do a little whiling away of time till the final whistle is blown. when it is election proper, the tune of the music will change. who ever thought Obaseki's camp will become so disorganized at this time such that they all begin to drop names of the president, even the late abba kyari. let's not forget POI won the last election even when he was in the opposition but he was rigged out. now he is back to the house he helped build. as you have said let's all watch who wins the war. |

Re: More Trouble For Obaseki As Loyalists Plot To Abandon Governor by Tareq1105: 5:46pm On May 30, 2020 |
juman: Just as Obaseki lack the wisdom to manage the party members. Obaseki is not a politician at all. Immediately he became governor he was scheming to make changes of positions among party Exco that were elected at a convention / Congress. How is that possible? He wanted to replace the State Secretary and few others. These officers called Oshiomole to inform him about the governor's game plan. Obaseki is so naive that his plan could never happen without a convention / Congress. Since then he's been on the radar of the political bigwigs of the party in the state. To me, Obaseki is a bad manager of Men. |

[quote author=Trumpcard05 post=90125982] A good leader is supposed to be able to carry his people along, obaseki has failed in that aspect, who rubbishes people that brought him to power in any given opportunity? How do you want party elders obaseki has labelled as thiefs to support him during election now? And it's a good thing obaseki refused sharing EDO money with APC chieftains but the questions is, what did he do with EDO money? Shared it to El rufail and kayode fayemi to unseat oshiomhole, if you are asked to list obasekis achievements as a governor you will start listing abstract things even a local govt chairman won't be proud of, if he really worked in EDO he should be popular amongst the people hence he should not be scared of primaries that will test his popularity. |

Miracle1991: Exactly, Oshiomole said it to weaken Iyamu support base. Politicians would say anything to discredit their opponents. Check the number of PDP governors Oshiomole abused and called thieves in 2019 elections. You would think he would never greet Atiku again if you check the number of abuses Oshio Baba reigned on him. It's all political talk. You beat your wife, she abused you. Does that mean she won't enter house to sleep again? Is the abuse from her heart? It was bcoz of the way she felt then. 1 Like |
