You're not digressing as long as it concerns the Super Eagles. That's primarily what the thread is meant for, not so? Now to address your musing, my brother, like Safarigirl have answered, that replacement is CYRIEL KOLAWOLE DESSERS. Umar Sadiq is doing well for himself but needs to step up from Serbia to a higher league. I understand Besiktas came in for him but he kinda rejected Turkey. As things stands, he is still considering his options. Also, I understand he is among the uncapped options on Rohr's radar but it will take some doing for him to bag an invite coz we got this Super Eagles Striker hierarchy at the moment: - Osimhen - Iheanacho - Dessers - Maja There is a fifth name and Sadiq can make it his. Perhaps an injury can open up a chance of an invite for the lad soon. Time will tell. Hope your musing have been served now. Now follow Tolu's advice and dream well. Dream that we lift the Qatar 2022 WC title. chidi1: 3 Likes |

As reported by BBC Sport, I hope Rohr is not already finding excuses for a failure that is yet to happen. "We are not the best team in Africa" blablabla. What kind of excuse is that? I kinda agree with NFF's decision to tie this contract to the next Afcon championship and world cup qualification, as some of us have been suggesting here. If he cannot deliver, it's either he's not technically good enough or he's not ambitious enough(talent is not a problem). Whichever is the case, thank him for getting us this far, fire him and get someone better. . |

The Journos are just taking Rohr's words out of context. Anyone who watched the Rohr interview with Colin Udoh on IG live will see that he only said that (We are not the best team in Africa) to show that winning the Afcon won't be a walk in the park. Rohr never said we cannot or will not win the Afcon. As usual, many will fall for this. It's just clickbait. I know Rohr have used the "young team" excuse before at Russia 2018 where we were the youngest side at the WC and at Afcon 2019 where we were the second youngest side at the Afcon but to be fair to him as regards that interview, he did acknowledge that we should try to win the Afcon and also make a fine impact at the WC. I watched the interview and have recordings of it. benji93: 1 Like |

I have just watched the interview as well. He did say that we are not the best in the world, and we are the third in Africa. So, what was he implying? remember Udoh's question was regarding the condition that he wins the Afcon and qualify for the world cup. Is he implying that if we come third, it's just fine? Besides, there was no exaggeration in the report by BBC sport, Africa. He referred to some of the teams like Cameroon and Morocco, that were eliminated earlier in the last tourney. I do not understand what that means if not an excuse ahead of the next Afcon. If you cannot win, then you must have come short in your decisions, some of which could be technical. My main point is I am in support of such an inclusion in his contract NFF should have ambitious too, as he suggested. If he does not win his contract should be terminated. No excuses such as we played well but we did not win, the cohesion between the boys is getting better now, so maybe give him more time blablabla. TheSuperNerd: |

Bottom line is he wasn't lying. We are NOT the best in Africa as it stands. Algeria is. We are one of the best for sure but not the Outright best. And if you indeed watched the full interview, then I see no reason for all this talk. It's not like Rohr said we cannot win the Afcon. benji93: 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Eizzy003: If the chance comes, Chuks should jump on it. Sane is going and he is someone that has similar playing style with Sane. He can fit in well but he should know like Sane, he will not get a steady run of games. Not to worry, enough KNOWLEDGE to SOAK. |

andrewbaba44: He has to move fast. Nigeria is producing many unkown players that will burst on the scene. Terem moffi and stephen odey might ivertake him if they raise their game. Even Taiwo awoniyi is comming back to form. Our football academies are producing stars everyday and this is an exciting time for nigerian football. Other unkown but talented players that are not strikers are Alhassan yusuf Jordan attah kadiri Hilaey gong (the new finidi) Paul omo mukairo James Igbekeme (real valadolid) We should specially appreciate gbs academy as it us a talent factory The future of nigerian football is bright. Football academies are the basis of developing football and this can make up for our poor league or even improve the npfl |

I agree it won't be a bad move. Just that for me, it is my second preference. My first preference is for Vic to remain at Lille one more season then make the jump to a much bigger side than even Napoli. But again, joining Napoli now which is definitely a better and bigger side than Lille, doing well and establishing himself in Italy will also inevitably attract much bigger sides too. Either ways, I see good but the Napoli option is my second preference. Anyway, time will tell. Isahalbash: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: I don't think it would be a good idea for him to remain at Lille for another season.. French clubs aren't that consistent.. What if Lille sell some of their key players and it affects their performance next season ? It would affect Osimhen too.. It's better he leaves now if the right offer comes through.... |

Danielnino00: Bora - Definitely a second chance. Spain were the favourites in our group in France 98 and a journalist in Port Harcourt asked him if the Super Eagles were scared to meet the fierce Spain, his reply, "Spain Should Be Scared Of Us." Just for his confidence, I will give him another chance. Lagerback - Definitely asking him for a refund because he could have achieved way more and looked like an NFF Puppet. Berti Vogtz - Preparing to sue. Men that dude deserves a verdict to strip him naked and flogged in the centre of the National stadium to set example for the next coach not to fox with us. (Joke O!) This man allowed Aiyegbeni miss countless goals while keeping Obafemi on the bench when Obagoal was in brutal form. Most especially the Nations Cup game against Benin Republic. Even though Aiyegbeni scored, in sane situations he should have been taking off long time before that goal. The misses were criminal. 3 Likes |

andrewbaba44: The may be unproven to you on the outside but not too the coaching staff on the inside. So to you they may not be an equation but they definitely are, l can assure you. Among those academy boys are several who are out on loan. In football clubs in the EPL and even on lower leagues l see regular strong contention between recruitment and the academy. You ignore it at your peril. |
