Wow, how appalling that these celebrities couldn't point out that this girl (Tina Uwa) shouldn't have been in the church all by herself studying in preparation for school resumption. She could have done that at home.

We have one of the most corrupt system of policing, some of the weakest laws and most docile judiciary in the world. Illiteracy rate is still at an all-time high, one of the highest in the universe. We have the most corrupt tertiary institutions in the world, where the population of male cultists more than doubles the population of women in some institutions.

So how do you tell a hemp-smoking red-eye Lagos tout and cultist about Human Rights?

Should women constantly fear this kind of men? Absolutely! Even some men fear them too.

While the approach of calling out men is not out of place, we have to tell ourselves the truth. The entire system is faulty. The system needs realignment. We have to get it right to see a difference. By 'it', I mean our education, our laws, policing and, in fact, the religion, we claim we love so much.

One thing is certain, the Uniben girl was not raped by a group of morally-minded and well-trained educated men. Somehow, we all know the category of people that will openly gang-rape a lady. And somehow, the society has failed to do something about this category of people. We all know them, we all know who raised them. We all know where they came from. As tragic as the incident may be, I have lost sympathy for women that go through such acts of violence. Why?
