Boyhood: What about a person that’s just starting out? Say hypothetically, if someone registers through a company like United Capital to buy shares how would such a person register for his own e-dividend ? |

ojesymsym: What if the money is not there?. Those that can afford the foreign rice at that high rate are few. Btw, i use to buy foreign rice and share to people. When the price of foreign rice rose, they told me to buy local rice for them as that will ensure that it gets to so many people instead of the few that will share the foreign rice. Pikin wen dey hungry no know the difference between foreign and local rice. 2 Likes |

Good morning my big Oga Mr McJay. I have to agree with you o, that it is more sensible and wise just to waive the two months rent for the sake of peace and to get rid of a bad tenant. Tenants just need to know that legally any additional time spent needs to be paid for in full. I will be grateful if you or any of our big Ogas and Madams in the house has a Know your Customer "KYC" template for prospective tenant, that can be shared. Landlords among us should please regularly inspect the meters in their properties to ensure there is no illegal or "bypass" connection. My tenant in Magodo absconded and left me a bill of 945 thousand naira (yes just under 1M naira on a prepaid meter o!!!) to pay, when she was caught by the Ikeja Electric Vigilance team. She did not pay even one kobo for electricity over the preceeding 4 months. She had apparently engaged someone to tamper with the prepaid meter as electricity supplied was not being read by the meter. The property was charged 150K per month, for 6 months as loss of revenue plus 45K as VAT. My case is still unresolved and with the NERC regulator MrMcJay: 4 Likes |

IamR: I got my statement almost 6 months of venturing into Eurobond and I saw that my capital was less of over 1k$ as at that time. I have applied for liquidation. I will write about it when I get it within one month as stated in their letter to me instead of 72hrs. Leaving the money with them will incur more losses. I have consulted one or two Gurus outside Nairaland and I think the best thing is to liquidate the investment. Would I get it within one month? I am not 100% sure. My lawyer is on standby though Hello IamR Please can you expatiate on the bold part....I thought Eurobond is a fixed income investment ? Did you loose that amount because of early liquidation ? |

olujaidi:I see CBN devaluing the naira again. Dollar don pick race again this morning as Buhari said na June 21 them go open everywhere. Also NNPC blundered last night to hint they make just $3 profit a barrel of oil at their $25 benchmark because they spend up to $22 just to produce a single barrel of oil. This has boost speculator confidence and the slow and steady upward rate of the dollar has begun. Whoever that don't want to buy local produce should get ready to plunder his reserves till kingdom come. 400 range is naira's new reality apparently. 4 Likes |

Theconglomerate: Lol. I think the only thing that can improve this is sustained cash intervention. Thus far, that hasn't happened. I think they've chosen to protect the reserves as much as possible - maybe gathering the necessary firepower to intervene. I don't think the NNPC "blundered". It's been that way for years. It's just a Google search away. Kachikwu attempted to reduce it but obviously his efforts were unsuccessful. |

ahiboilandgas:He is not limited to exchanging his naira for dollars. What if he also looks for a way to start earning dollars?Have you also thought about what will happen to his standard of living if he does this? Devaluation will make Nigeria an export based nation with everyone scrambling to earn fx. That is what we need right now. 3 Likes |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Theconglomerate(m): 11:41am On Jun 02, 2020 |
ahiboilandgas:Poverty index is increasing because there are over 70m+ unproductive people up north dragging the nation backwards and destroying it's statistics. Turkey is not a shithole country and devaluation is not for them. You only devalue currencies of shitholes so that they can sell whatever crap they produce internationally and destroy importation caused by lack of production/industrialization,so making comparison with Nigeria and Turkey is not good. You should make comparisons between Nigeria and olden day China. This is fair comparison. You cannot go to an already industrialised and self sufficient country with higher standards of living and start talking devaluation,it's outright wrong. 3 Likes |

Is there really a benefit of removing people from the farm, educating to only know how to speak English and become entitled to some goverment jobs? Shouldn't we find a way to educate them to still be farmers but educated farmers. ahiboilandgas: 13 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Theconglomerate(m): 11:57am On Jun 02, 2020 |
ahiboilandgas:They are economically idle. You can't be doing subsistent farming and earning peanut year to year and dragging the nation behind and you tell me you are busy.Busy how? If they were really busy,it will start to reflect in their lifestyle. Not some almajiri goes to work in an Alhaji's farm for a plate of food without meat and you want me to applaud them for being busy whereas they are just barely surviving? That is economic madness. That is where Nigeria poverty and poor data is coming from. That is the reason most of them live in huts and are going blind due to poverty and inaccess to clean water till date and polio, cholera, less fever and terrorism is still ravaging them. Nigeria needs Capitalism, not farming for a plate of food. 6 Likes |
