You keep bringing up incidents which would make me look like a Police apologist, but the fact is that in your state of outrage, you are not fact checking these incidents. I am not a Police apologist, just a factual non-emotive type of person who takes every case on its merit, knowing there are racists in every organisation and also incompetent people in every organisation. I would rather deal with facts each time. When you first brought up the above tasing incident, you linked it to racism, but the Police officers (who have been sacked and charged) were black.

So is it racism, incompetence or police brutality, and in this case are you satisfied with the response of the Police Department in sacking them and charging them?

I believe these things will always occur in a violent society like Yankee. When we should get upset is when justice is not seen to be done. If Zimmerman had been dealt with by the legal system, I don't believe we will be having this outrage over George Floyd because we would know for certain the cop would get his comeuppance in court. We can't expect everyone not to be racist (the fact Trump is President shows how racist that society is), what we expect is for systems to be in place to stop that racism affecting us, and punishment when it does. I believe that has been served to the officers in the incident you quoted above, even though their case is not racism but incompetence.

I think this is a mostly(or even exclusively) for-males thread, so I will be gone after this. I saw something you said about likes and I want to say something (as simply as I can, and without any disrespect meant at all).
Because intelligence in the population is normally distributed, the posts that are more popular (likes, shares, upvotes etc) on topics that follow logic/rationality and knowledge, not necessarily posts that are emotive/evoke feelings/empathy etc) are usually the relatively more banal. This is because it requires some form of extra something to relate with the more unpopular (but more apt) posts.
In simpler terms, getting more likes for some posts on forums and social media is not always a good thing . I enjoy getting fewer likes on my posts (maybe because I am somewhat very self involved and bla bla bla).
That said, from what I have seen on the thread, almost all of you are intelligent and have a relationship already. It’s as if you guys have created your own niche on the forum . But just saying that some posts with fewer likes may be more “it”.

Indeed, in 10 minutes, the black man was able to summarize the pain and anger of all black people in America. He laid bare the history of institutionalized racism and police brutality on blacks.

I particularly liked the part where he pointed out the fact that the foundation of America started with protest, looting and rioting. The Boston Tea Party.
