The Northern People President.
President for the North and by the North.
If there was a Northerner with the same Qualifications with Okonjo, I bet you BUBU will not have nominated her.

A has a choice. In fact, he withdrew the nomination of a northerner to support your Igbo sister. Yuonov Agah served meritoriously for two terms as WTO deputy DG. You guys should show gratitude and stop being ungrateful.
Internationally who between the two has the capacity to pull weight and represent Nigeria well?

Be frank and use your intelligence. It's all about international diplomacy. If you're a student of international politics and diplomacy you'll understand this.

Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is known worldwide and for your info Buhari didn't just take the decision alone his advisers might have advised him on the advantage of having such calibre of person in that office.

Like I told you earlier, your opinion or how you feel is irrelevant. We don’t do unnecessary emotional hatred in my part of the country. Nigeria’s interest comes first before any other sentiments.
Your part of the country must be the moon because all parts of the country I know have a definite commonality.
A basic resentment and phobia of the Igbos. Take it or leave it, it doesn't matter, I know already how hypocritical the people from your part of the country can be. So your claims and erroneous assertions are purely balderdash.
It's senseless, meaningless and extremely irrelevant.

kahal29:
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the nomination of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, former coordinating minister for the economy, for the position of director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), TheCable can report.

In a document seen by TheCable on Thursday, Buhari withdrew the candidacy of Yonov Frederick Agah, Nigeria’s permanent representative to WTO, for the same position.

The election is scheduled to hold in Geneva, Switzerland in 2021 for a four-year term that would run from 2021 to 2025 after Roberto Azevedo, former director-general of the organisation stepped down a year to the end of his second term.

“The embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and permanent mission to the African Union (AU) and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) presents compliments to all embassies and permanent missions in Addis Ababa and has the honour to inform that the Federal Government of Nigeria has withdrawn the candidacy of Ambassador Yonov Frederick Agah for election to the position of director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO),” the letter seen by TheCable read.

“Nigeria is therefore pleased to request the support of esteemed AU member states as well as permanent missions and embassies in Addis Ababa in favour of the candidacy of Okonjo-Iweala.”

Agah is Nigeria’s permanent representative to the WTO and WTO’s deputy director-general.

Okonjo-Iweala currently chairs the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), a public-private global health partnership with the goal of increasing access to immunisation in poor countries.

She also sits on the board of Twitter and is a former managing director (operations) at the World Bank.

On March 7, President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa appointed her a member of the country’s economic advisory council.

A month later on April 10, Kristalina Georgieva, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), named Okonjo-Iweala a member of the fund’s external advisory group.

Okonjo-Iweala is one of the four special envoys appointed by the African Union (AU) on April 12 to mobilise international support for its efforts toward addressing the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2012, she contested to become World Bank president becoming the first female and first black candidate.

She was listed among one of the top 100 most powerful women in the world by Forbes four consecutive times from 2011 to 2014. She was also listed as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world by TIME magazine in 2014.

Adesina was nominated by gej and not buhari...he was already a candidate when buhari won, he only supported him but wasn't the one that nominated him
I know.

Buhari had the option of not supporting him which could be costly for Adesina.

So what was his point on Buhari loathing everyone in GEJ’s cabinet?

Nepotistically, he could still have damned it all and support the candidature of the current deputy DG of the organization. You cannot be coming up with excuses such as this when the president appoints or support an Igbo for an important position then turn around and accuse him of nepotism when he appoints or support Nigerians from other regions into positions. It smarks of hypocrisy.
