Kog45: I don't know why these state governors won't sell off these clubs they claim to manage... They are being run like other state owned institutions in this country... Underfunded, underperforming and yielding little profits.. They should allow the private investors take over abeg... |

Well, it's not like he has much of a choice. If Olympiacos are the most serious team in for him, then he should take it. He can always work his way up again from there. And you right, at least we get to see him in the UCL. Time will tell where Henry ends up. TheLoneCitizen: 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli:Sir the question is this, are those 3 leagues in United States operate outside the guidelines of US football authority. The more reason I said I need someone to interpret the legal implications of having another league apart from NPFL. |

Bazee, good player but not that fantastic. Ehizibue good too but Tyronne is better for me. The game is not that interesting. Gra gra footy. |

Kog45: Yes they were run by 3 different entities. I am sure that in Nigeria there are laws that counter monopolies. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 5:58pm On Jun 07, 2020 |
Tyronne is more balanced defensively and offensively. Ehizibue is very good offensively and super fast but not so awesome defensively. That's the difference. Bazee is a very fine player. He even won the penalty that Augsburg squandered. It's just the way this game has gone so far. Very uninteresting phases of action. fabyom: 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Kog45: The best time to have sack that man was immediately after the WC. The reason why many would still want him is nothing but stability. He doesn't have the guts to take us to the next level. It's up to the players to show that they want it. |

Kog45: There's no reason why Amaju pinic should step in here. The private league would just be like a a street football competition since it wouldn't be presenting teams for the CAF competitions. The NFF can't stop people from organizing a village Christmas football competition, same applies here. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Kog45: Good you have brought in the Mikel angle. Oruma/Obodo were supposed to be replacements for Okocha but they were not just cutting it like expected because they didn't have the qualities close to those of Okocha so we had to rely on Okocha a little longer. But Jay-Jay could not play for ever and that was when God blessed us with a young Mikel. I remember his first game was against Zimbabwe in our 3rd group game at the 2006 AFCON. Less than 5mins after being introduced, Mikel scored on his debute and that was when we knew Okocha's replica had arrived so we had to accept in our hearts that it was time to let go of him. 2 years earlier at the 2004 AFCON Okocha had a stand up performance and so even during the 2006 WCQ which were played in 2004-05 he was a player we really relied on especially as Oruma, Obodo and Obiorah were not measuring up as expected. Now to Kanu, Yes just like Jay-Jay, he had his best days before 2006 but from 2006 - 2010 he still had major impacts in the team even as we hardly had a player that could fit into his shoes due to his versatility. Do you recall that Kanu's last game for Nigeria, which was the 3rd place game of the 2010 AFCON, Kanu Nwankwo played the CM role. And we were like..as if he just thought the CM players how to do their job. Egbon, this particular issue about the later years of Kanu and Okocha was very much an argument back then. To some fans they were "Old tired legs" that must give way for young players. But some of us saw that the team needed the experiences of such players in the team for a smooth transition. And it was not as if we had numerous top rated young players then. Young players of that time (2006 - 2010) that were pushing for starting places in the SE: Taye Taiwo (Capped in 2005) Mikel Obi (Capped in 2006) Chinedu Ogbuke-Obasi (Capped in 2006) Victor Anichebe(Capped in 2008) Obinna Nsofor (Capped in 2007) Other up coming players then: Brown Ideye Sani Keita Isaac Promise Odion Ighalo And then the defensive crop of (all of which later made the national team): Efe Ambrose Onyekachi Apam Dele Adeleye Adefemi Olubayo Chibuzor Okonkwo As at that 2006-10 there were hardly any upcoming players that were major threats to the SE forwardd then. It was just Nsofor and Obasi and you and I know they were at that time not in the class of Yakubu, Martins, Utaka, Kanu, Osaze and Ike Uche. 1 Like |

Danielnino00: Good you have mentioned Private INVESTORS. So looking at it from the investment angle. Is the Nigerian league viable enough for you to sink Billions of naira in buying over a club plus it's facilities? What is the expected Return on Investment? |

Kog45: Good point Egbon. Some of us have come a long way with the followership of the Nigerian league and we would not want to see it deteriorate any further before our very eyes. The LMC should have a round table discussion with Private club owners and Iron out their differences. 1 Like |

Icon4s: There are a lot of private individuals involved in the league already... They feel that the current system is hindering them from making money, hence the reason why they are pulling out and creating their own league. If the NFF and ministry of sports can allow the private sector to be more involved in the running of the league,as a businessman,I'd commit my money into it (assuming of course I have the money ) Looking beyond the league, there's a lot of money involved in the football scene in this country... From the football academies to the management agencies to the betting firms ..there's money... 1 Like |

Icon4s: But, we can't help it. Hopefully, this puts pressure on the Govt owned clubs to sell off so, the entire enterprise becomes private driven, inspiring their owners to make decisions that'd help raise the standard of football in our locality. |

Joebie: The NFF would see their decision to create a league of theirs as one done in bad blood, they'd make sure these players are denied the opportunity to turn up for the NT. |
