RabbiDoracle:

Why you dey break your head on what is causing a rally in Japaul?

There were many companies on NSE that have good results that you don't even need to start breaking your head on. You will simply buy these companies.

Like I said, most people see themselves as investors in NSE when they have like 1m units of a 20kobo stocks. This should not be so. Once may want to so a short cut in a 20kobo stock and get stuck for the next 5 years.

Ask those who have universal insurance in their portfolios. It may have been there since 2008. We are talking about 12 years. Even at 20kobo, no single bid.

At thar point, you will understand that a stock at 20kobo can be very expensive than Nestle at N1,000. Because Nestle you can buy at N1,000 and sell at N1,100. But this one, no single bid once you are trapped.

I Still day inside DUNLOP angry

Madam, the information you are seeking is closely guarded. No one will know until it becomes public knowledge.
Mcy56:

Sir, the point I'm making is that there could be more to an unusual rally than just assumptions and it's not about Japaul alone.
Jaiz rallied from 40kobo to current price.
Dangflour was rallying despite poor result released then..m .by the time we knew what was behind it, the door was locked, full bids for many days.
We can do better by doing more findings rather than mere sentiments when unusual occurs.

If people don't die when NB, Oando, Guinness, FO, First bank, GTB, Zenith, stanbic, fcmb, Unilever, PZ, etc fell from skyscraper, then Japaul shouldn't and wouldn't be responsible for any death.

Very possible for them to sell at a loss , move on and diversify into other stocks,

Your N2 million can be trapped in an illiquid and dead stuck for over a year, thereby missing other opportunities

It took me 3 years to sell my Mutual Benefits Assurance and Standard Alliance shares

Oga RabbiDoracle it's not only about JP.
Of course, I always take responsibility for my actions.......but we should still know that people just air their sentimental opinions here without backing it up with any reasonable facts or figures.
Again, this is not about Japaul only, but about other stocks as well.
Sir, the question is:
Why did covid not help Meyer?
Why has it not helped GSK to over N10 despite that they even declared 55kobo dividend? Why is M &B still struggling to get to 3.50?
The point I'm trying to make is that there could be more to the rally than meets the eyes.

Both GSK and MAY & BAKER have returned double digit % gains(btw 85-117%) since we advised for a BUY here.
...FIDSON too.

GSK and M &B rallied......but I was saying same thing, that there's more to that of Neimeth which makes it special.

Majority of the shares you listed pays dividend so when left with you there is some form of consolation once in a while. I have just about 80,000 units of Evans Medical that I just wish should be deleted from my stock list but it is still there looking at me.

The only very odd stock I see in this your list is Oando . If there is anyone here that still have it in his/her portfolio then its the persons love for it. If not there was enough caution here to make such a person selloff or desist from buying if he/she has the intentions.

Yes. I read your comments.
...but me I came across an info sometimes ago about one of the big pharma acquiring the coy, only not sure of how true this is.
I mentioned this so as to drive my point home that, we can do better to know what's behind a stock's sudden behaviour rather than just dwelling on fundamentals alone.

@Bolded is most probably not correct. All the Pharmaceutical companies have surplus unused capacities so acquisition by a local player wont make sense. As a matter of fact i can go into pharmaceuticals production by contracting the surplus capacity of either Fidson, MB or Neimeth to do contract manufactuting for me. All the local pharma companies make generic drugs and there is no valuable brand or patent in Neimeth they will want either. A new international entrant possibly but Neimeth has old machinery setup and they seriously need to modernize their plant so no attraction there also.

I said it before that they guys are positioning for a mega rights issue. With accumulated loss of over N1 billion and outstanding shares of under 2 bn units they need cash to join the modern pharma era. 4 entities control 49% of shares and i don't see 2 of them subscribing to any or much rights so giving up that control has to be valuable. This will also present opportunities for other people to buy big and join the board just like the owner of Peace Mass Transit did with May and Baker. If you read the line by line well, everything in this paragraph is already in their 2019 annual report.

The market can over punish non performing businesses to the extent that some of them can sell at 90% discount of their intrinsic value.

That was what happened with Dangote Flour and Diamond Bank.

Investors should be concerned when an auditor raises doubts about the going concern ability of a business.

That was what happened with Japaul and Oando. Investors will avoid such businesses, but might be a good bet for speculators

Your still have hope that its still in existence, what of those whose vehicles was delisted like Costain and others. Pray that your company will not be delisted one day before you bail out. Why you see sometimes this car park vehicles move to warm up their engine before returning to car park, is to inform the regulators that there is still live in them. Don't be greedy when boarded their vehicle during such opportunity, leave them while still on their way, before returning to car park will be more better, than to book paper profit, and still see it disappear while struggling to escape.
