Sorry about your loss. Pls provide the following answers to the following questions;

1. Who or where did you source it from?
2. Where you given their medical records?
3. What drugs/medication have you used since Saturday?
4. What feed are you giving them?
5. Is there any heat source provided for them? (Or how exposed is your housing?)

Let's start with the above.
By the way, why are you using that for the feeders? What about your water container? I will love to see it.

I got it from an advertised site on . I didn't want to start with a day old to avoid what I'm experiencing now. When I told him on Sunday after on fatality, he told me to give them procold.

I was given a list of drugs but yet to get them. I've been indisposed so tried the organic method by putting garlic & ginger in their water. I have been feeding them with Mabs Feed Broiler Starter. I use lantern.

There are so many red flags in your answers; from the source to using procold, to you not buying drugs and then opting for organic approach using ginger + garlic. And let's not forget the use of lantern.

I'll start with what I can see, and what I can see clearly shows your birds having coccidiosis (what's their feaces like?). Try and visit a paravet and a good anticoccidial should be given to you to be administered. Pls, get the drugs.
Moreover, from my little observation, you need to get a good feeding trough for your chicks that limits feaces to food contact. It also helps reduce wastage and wastage. Likewise, provide clean source of water for them at all time. And pls, don't just let the little birds stay on the wood like that, get wood shavings or something to put on the surface for them.
Lastly, clean regularly. At least twice a week (if only you could provide us with a full view of where the 40 birds are being raised).

Oh, and of cos, do away with the lanterns. The dangers outweighs the good, especially if we don't know how ventilated your cage is.

For the organic treatment, I usually employ the use of Bitter leaf extract (with or without scent leaves sometimes)

Note: Do ask your source what he has given them thus far with regards to medication.

Someone told me to use kerosene lantern to brood.what are the effects
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by sodeeqsulaimon88(m): 2:26am On Jun 04, 2020
my advice to everyone is that we should always try to get our birds from confirmed source coz some doc sellers are really cunning they can sell cockerel in place of broiler.
Op dont you think doc broiler for 80# is awkward and him saying he wants to rear till december confirmed my suspicion that its cockerel he bought

It is common practice to used kerosene lamps, charcoal pots etc. to brood, but, when using any heat source other than electricity, the brooder room should have a vent on top to allow fumes to escape.
There is the general misconception that the brooder rooms should be completely sealed up even when using lanterns/coal pots. This in most cases causes respiratory issues in the chicks.

Moreover, lanterns has most times been linked to fire incidence in brooder rooms if not properly mounted and guided from birds pushing it over.

For me, I have even stopped using any other heat source apart from electric bulbs, that's if I am even using heat at all. It all depends on the time & season I am brooding. Why provide heat if the room temperature is just right? grin

Why? What are your observations?
Re: My Kuroiler Birds From Day Old by jidestroud(m): 3:07pm On Jun 05, 2020
Great News

My DIY incubator I made proved to be worth it after all. Six (6) fertilized eggs were used for the experiment. Today marks the 23rd day of the incubation. 4 eggs out the six eggs hatched so far. I will wait just one more day to see if the two remaining eggs will hatch.

I will be starting another thread on the incubation process for my kuroiler birds. This time around, I will be using 30 fertilized eggs.

They are dying in numbers. Just five left now and they might go the way of others looking at their condition (pictures attached.)I got them Cocinor but wasn't working. I called him about the loss & he told me to get those drugs in the pictures, applied them yesterday but from 23 they have all died remaining those five who were separated from the rest because they were more active. Even a broiler I have keep as a pet for over two years & had undergone different situations is infected & is also folding & not eating. The situation is dire

Sorry to read about the loss.

At this stage, since you are unable to get the medical records of the birds (pls and pls, never make such mistake again, although it could be lied about too sha), you must treat as if they haven't been given any treatment at all. I will advice you use antiviral drugs to treat for Infectious bursal disease (Gumboro) first of all.
Do also get them multivitamins to be administered.

Also, pls provide warmth for them. It is very necessary.

Clean and disinfect the whole cage before introducing them back inside.

By the way if you are in Lagos, do send a mail across to me, I wouldn't mind sending 5 noiler chicks to you.
