In Kogi State, one hundred and eleven people have been successfully tested . In which all results have recorded negative. All over Kogi State, the government has focused more on sensitization programme to create awareness about the pandemic. They also teach the people of Kogi State the precautionary measures to take in order to avoid the spread of the disease, and this has yielded tremendous results.

That sounds great.

111 tests doesn't sound encouraging for an entire state though. Isn't Kogi the size of some entire countries in Africa? Imagine if say Botswana had claimed to have done just 111 tests, they would be ridiculed as a country. How else do you identify positive cases if you do not conduct mass testing.?

Actually, Kogi State has a population of 3.3millions of people living there.

Don't act ignorant, I was only referring to Edo when I stated they may be generating untrue positive cases which is even just a speculation. Edo is peculiar because the governor is fighting for direct gubernatorial primary election not to hold, he can support this notion with high Covid-19 cases in the state that will discourage mass gathering. However, it is just a speculation.

speculations without proof .... don't you know you can be sued for that ?

We all know that the lockdown was not effective in Nigeria becuz a lot of people did not adhere to it, most especially in Lagos.

In other countries, the govts gave adequate palliatives to their citizens so that they won't feel the impact of the lockdown but the reverse was the case in Naija.

So we ended up making a big mockery of the whole aim of the lockdown. You can see that as some other countries are now able to re-open fully, we are still have increasing cases in most African countries.
And now our government expects the thing to stabilise when we reopen undecided.

You are contradicting yourself sir, in one word, you accept total lockdown as a solution, in another word, you disagree with total lockdown because Nigeria Government is corrupt. Where is your stand sir? Are you a chameleon?

Read me with clear mind, then you will know that I am not a chameleon in anyway.
I was saying lockdown is the solution but how can our govt pronounce lockdown in a failed system where corruption is the order of the day?

For you to bring the lockdown into a meaningful effect, you must do the right thing that will make people obey the order to the latter, otherwise, the worst is yet to come.

It will still rise.
I was somewhere in ladipo last week and queued up at an ATM to get some cash.
Somehow, began a conversation with one muscle strong-headed, trader guy. Those kind people that when they are arguing, they will be sweating and using handkerchief to clean the sweat
Guy was proving up and down, "Nothing dey. Na lie, There's no virus. Government dey chop money".
There was no convincing this guy.
Even the boy that followed me to collect his money at the ATM didn't wear mask.
Kids in the market are not wearing mask. They're just carrying this thing round and round and spreading to elderly ones who will show the signs
I have not seen ONE market kid with face mask or doing social distancing.

Doubting Thomases everywhere... They want to experience it first before believing

even if they have NCDC might not have gotten official word for collation. I mean this is Nigeria where we don't really keep proper stats.

Some wearing a massive ankara face mask with a bottle of sanitizer in his pocket, but doubting that Covid-19 is in Nigeria cheesy angry grin

The undeniable truth is that everyone cares about how to live with this contagion.

Trust Nigerians grin. TBH some carry just to avoid police and other agents from harassment. About living with it people think it's just gonna be an easy thing undecided, how many people are even aware that we HAVE to live with it. Honestly at this point it's getting exhausting. Our Government aren't even trying to help at all.

yeah really OMG. As at the last official count 3 tests were conducted(we haven't been updated on the current data), that of the governor( grin Funny) and on the two 'alleged' index cases(they are still denying). For people saying they have reasons to doubt NCDC undecided, Ask them why they haven't moved to establish their own test centres undecided

My question is by the time the fg relaxes the interstate lockdown, can Kogi and crs still maintain their claims of being Covid-19 free?
