HELP: Model Number Under Settings Is Different From The One In Download Mode by benzics(m): 12:38pm On Jun 10, 2020
Hello guys

I just got a used S9 and the previous user rooted it, as a result of this, device doesn't receive OTA updates and still stuck on android 8... Now I'm trying to unroot it and install stock firmware for android 10

The problem now is under settings my model number is SM-G960F and I've already downloaded the firmware, but while flashing I always get Secure check fail: bootloader

And I just noticed that the model number in download mode is SM-G960N... All the firmware for this model is for Korean Region only, and I just read that flashing another region's firmware can cause issues

Please I need help, am I getting the error 'cause I'm using a wrong firmware

Download the G960N and flash it, since thats the model showing in download mode That's the original firmware.

The Korean version doesn't mean it won't work here in naija, my note 5 was just like the issue you described and I flashed the Korean version. Everything worked perfectly.

Till I got tired and went for the S9+

Hi geezyk,
Did you use any of the firmware that ends with 'N' or a specific one, I don't know which to download.

Before you flash a firmware, ensure you flash the specific carrier for your phone. You can check your phone's firmware with the 'Phone Info' app

Didn't have to change anything, it's in English, I believe it changes the language according to your mobile network.

Sm- g965n in download mode and sm-g965f in about under settings
You'll have to download g965n firmware, under the firmware download page you'll see how to flash, it's easy when done right
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s9-plus/firmware/SM-G965N/SKC/download/G965NKSU3FTK1/930136/

INSTRUCTIONS (5 FILES)
Download Odin latest version on your pc

Extract the firmware file you just downloaded. You should get 5 files:
AP (System &Recovery)

BL (Bootloader)

CP (Modem / Radio)

CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)

HOME_CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)

Add each file to its respective field in odin. Use CSC_*** if you want to do a clean flash or HOME_CSC_*** if you want to keep your apps and data.
Reboot your phone in Download / Odin mode (make sure your device is off) with the following button combo: POWER + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY
Other options in case first option did not work or isn't possible.

Option 2 VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP then USB cable

Option 3 POWER + VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP

Option 4 POWER + VOLUME DOWN + HOME BUTTON

Option 5 (Note9) USB cable + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY

Option 6 (Note10) POWER + VOLUME UP

Once in download mode, connect your phone to the PC, preferably using the original USB cable you got with your phone. Odin should detect your device and a BLUE box will show up with the COM port number. (Be sure, the SAMSUNG-drivers are installed on your PC!)
Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS' in a GREEN box. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot, and you can disconnect your phone from the PC.

You can't find netflix because your bootloader is unlocked

You'll have to download it through a third party app store like apkpure

About your 4g+ I don't really know much about that, might be from your service provider.

The mobile T interface is for the Korean version of the device, you were using a global firmware before, but since you're back to the stock firmware of the device, that's just how it is. It's still one UI.

So, what can be done about the service provider, I finally got netflix on my phone somehow because I restored the apps attached to my Samsung account and devices. My Samsung health also doesn't open due to the service provider.

Thank you about the apkpure thing, looks like it could have also been option. I reached out to customer service on Samsung members about the Samsung health. Do you think that is smart?. I bought the phone new

Hello. I'm having thesame issue with you. Hope downloading the Korean firmware won't affect the language and the network settings.
