Isn’t this shameful?
Why can’t we have a national carrier? I imagine how much we are losing as country from the aviation industry because of misplaced priorities. Today we talk of Egyt Air, Rwanda Air and Ethiopian Airlines...and we claim to be GIANT OF AFRICA. It is really sad.

Ohh Educate yourself my man... In flight training we go through hours of training with simulators before we can even be allowed anywhere the airplane... If you are going to be flying a 737, it's definitely compulsory you take a flight simulator course in a 737 simulator same goes for any other type of airplane

Boeing 737 NG is one of the most widely used planes with over 7000 in service. Also it is still being produced till date. Your comment is misleading.

it is used to train pilots before they are allowed to train with a real plane....it gives you the feeling of flying a real plane, but it's not a real plane...

College of Aviation in Zaria has been doing live flying before you were even born.
Name one airline that uses a 737 for flight training.

It's for training pilots.
Before now, Nigerian carriers spend 2bn yearly to train train and re-train it's pilot in South Africa.
With this simulator, that era has ended!!!

Many people here asking why Nigeria does not have a national carrier? Can anybody name any of our government agencies that are functioning? from law enforcement, NEPA, Electricity, Military to Banking that performing or delivering to the working masses? Even from American government to Jamaica do not have national carriers. We don't have a maintenance culture nor do we have enough capital to operate such a capital intensive operation and the Nigerian factor (entitlements).
