Nairalandmonika: That’s your opinion. What is more important is for the government to start the project and pay for it fully just like Lagos-Ibadan and Ibadan-Kano. 3 Likes |

This project would have made mad sense, if all the steels and beams were produced locally and not imported from the same China. Atleast we have the raw material and the know how. The Chinese can take over the company on a PPP basis and produce those raw materials locally. Just imagine the jobs that will be created along that value chain. Anyway. It's a good thing. If we can push goods inward at the cheaper rate, cost of living will drop. We should also work on empowering the youths. But they turn serious problem. 1 Like |

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the payment of $318m (about 123bn) as counterpart funding to the Chinese Government for the Ibadan-Kano standard gauge project. THIS SHOULD BE A BITTER LESSON TO EX-PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN. Jonathan government could not complete the EAST -WEST ROAD IN THE NIGER DELTA REGION. Now a Fulani man is SPENDING Niger delta money to give his people the best of infrastructure. NORTH do not have sound EDUCATION but they know what is good for their people and their region. SOUTHERNER CAN ACCUSE BUHARI OF being a sectional bigot who practice tribalism and ethnic politics but the old soldier do not care. 2 Likes |

It's okay for him to take loan provided it's for good reason, if Abuja to Kaduna rail could generate #109m I imagine what will be the proceeds from Ibadan to Kano, food will be cheaper because of cut in operational expense and even safety. thesicilian: 6 Likes |
