I will secure Sambisa forest and open an isolation center there to quarantine all our present and former politicians, retired generals and all the corrupt civil servants. I will revitalize Agriculture and also carve out lands in Sambisa and lake chad basin and give to all the quarantined a hecteres to manage and farm so that there will be food in the country. They'll feed themselves there since I'll turn all of them to farmers but I'll provide, security, shelter and other necessities for them. The center will be fenced properly and no one will dare leave the centre for any reasons because high ranking security personae will be placed in the entrance. They'll all stay there till they meet their creator. With these half of Nigerian problems will be solved. Secondly I will organize a national conference that will last for 2 months with sincere and reasonable people in Nigeria to figure out the best way to move the country forward And rewrite the country's constitution. 3 Likes |

Just a single step is enough for Nigeria to be great again.. Restructure Nigeria back into her regional government. Where the federal government funds not seen as national cake, and lust for federal power. Where each regions has it own police and other security departments (apart from military) Where each region manages her resources and remitted little percentage to the weak federal government. Where each region makes her own law and have her constitutions. Where the president of the federal government is selected for a specific term among the premiers of the possibly six regions and not elected. With all these there will be transparent limited funds, and some region will surely succeed rapidly not because of oil, but because of competitions to succeed...if it worked for the old Western region when there was no oil then, why wouldn't it work now again.... 2 Likes |

chukel: The thread is not about this APC government, it is about what I would do if I were president. And that is what I would do, with the aim of making this country industrial. Infact, by ending subsides, we can save trillions for the treasury. Fighting corruption helps too. As for APC and PDP, I don't even like them or support them. They have their ideas, I have mine. |

Looking at it from the realistic point of view, I will concentrate on 3 major sectors, power, infastruture and agriculture. There is no doubt that this 3 areas can change the narrative, My 1st project will to revoke the fraudulent deals with those incompetent private firms in the power sector by using diplomacy and executive power to Snoop out irregularities in the deal, then bring in the real players( the Chinese) I will make they have level playing ground and a convenient environment to achieve target which will be clearly agreed upon. Road infastruture has also been a big challenge to the growth of this nation, I will sign an mou with very established road contractors like Julius Berger to fix all major roads in Nigeria within a time frame, Nigeria can easily afford this if sincererity and genuine purpose is exercised, look at the oil sector just imagine how much is lost to massive looting and white elephant projects. Lastly I will partner with all State governor s to enhance and massively increase the number of agricultural products, this will boost the employment level of the country as I will engage mostly graduates for this purpose, agriculture provides a large percentage of raw materials used in finished products that we important regularly. Let's look inwards the solution is here but unfortunately the Messiah has not arrived. |

Reverting to Regional Government with immediate effect. Every state and region will completely be financially independent. State projects will completely n solely be funded by the state, no more Abuja sharing of the cake. With that, every governor will be fully accountable to their citizens |

Stop individuals from building church Create a national road map for infrastructure every party must obey when in power Stop public practicing of any religion Increase public information management to carry everyone along with government program Take responsibility for infrastructural development from states Make every financial institutions e-system Remove state of origin from our constitution Sign road construction contact with 37 major contractor for each state Senate and Rep will be part time Ensure power generation is enough Maintain taxes especially for luxury items Building good hospitals in every LGA |

I can't be president. Why? Because Nigerian don't want Nigeria to thrive as a nation. The Fraudulent Republic of Nigeria did not only create a single Voters Register manned by the unscrupulous INEC, but actually legitimized the fraud with the 1999 document of insanity called constitution, then concretized it with a set of rubbish called the Electoral Law! I will get rid of the Constitution and the Single voters register. The 1999 constitution was written by con-men... written by complete imbeciles with criminal intents! The People were not consulted and their sovereignty taken away from them. My respect for that constitution is less than Zero. And I definitely have less than zero respect for those that employ it, swear by it or validate it! We shall pull down that constitution yet no matter what it takes! Nigeria shall know neither peace nor development as long as that fraud is the basis by which we must be ruled! We must #restructureOrBurst! Border security is yet another important thing if we must get it right. Obviously NIN has flaws and can't be trusted. In Nigeria however, property rights are a mirage...not even in the Constitution. The result is a strange constitution where the state itself owns property rights and deny her Citizens same through various convoluted clauses culminating in a demonic document capped by the Exclusive List... and worsened by a concurrent list. With these lists, free enterprise is eviscerated. And the state becomes its own sponsor; the people become the victim! The state thus wrought is in perpetual war with her people! That's the misery of most parts of Africa, and Nigeria is the flagship of that misery! 2 Likes |

The matter simple na, if I have the opportunity to be the president of this great country, the following will be my priorities: 1. Collapse the present 36 states to 6 base on the present six geopolitical zones just as Sen. Ike Ekwerumadu suggested. 2. Implement the recommendations of the 2013/2014 national conference that was conveyed by the former president Goodluck Jonathan. 3. Introduction of true federalism i.e each region control what they realized from their region and pay certain percentage to the centre thereby putting an end to governors running to Abj every months for allocations. 4. NYSC: the program needs complete overhaulling, NO corp member will be sent to school unless you studied Educational related causes. I will established massive farm in each region so that those that studied Agricultural related causes will have a place show case what they studied in school and same goes to all other fields of studies. 5. I will make sure I domesticate all contracts in the country, be it road, railway, building etc, why giving our roads constructions to foreign companies when we have local companies/engineers that can do the same job? Or why are we training engineers in our school? 6. Closed all our borders against food importation thereby making agricultural sector more attractive to our youths. 7. Death penalty to any public office holder found guilty of any kind of corruption. 8. Change from the current presidential system we are practicing to parliamentary system of government to cut cost of governance ... I get plenty things to do o but let me just stop here for now. 2 Likes |

stonemasonn: I beg to disagree on the bolded. That's matter of factly the first thing you should fix. Fixing the rail sector would ease the pressure on our roads (the Lagos and Benin - Ore experience). It'll also ease intra-city movement (and reduce cost of commuting for citizens). Research deeply, China are doing us a great favor, we just have to monitor them closely to make sure they stick to the agreements on paper |

If I were the president of Nigeria, I would do the following : 1. Massive security reforms: make the police laws and criminal justice system more effective. Nigeria is massively under policed. Create federal, state and local government policing and make sure all members of the federal police are university graduates with a good welfare system, and modern federal police stations with well equipped ICT systems in every state. Also create an active forensic department. And get the best and brightest to head the various units in the police force. Also create excellent welfare system and modern equipments for the army, navy and airforce 2. Undertake massive infrastructure works for roads and railway networks in the country. No need for awarding contracts as it is just a waste to the country's treasury and another way to steal funds. Under the ministry of works and ministry of labor, create a database comprising graduates and secondary school leavers. Create a skill to work system which certifies artisans and apply them under the ministry of works to build quality roads and lay quality railways across the country using raw materials that we have in abundance. (this plan takes care of unemployment and fixes all federal and state roads in a period of 2 years) To make this work, utilize the services of Nigerian Society of Engineers, COREN, and the various engineering departments in the universities that cover each zone of Nigeria to oversee and make sure the quality is standard. Also stop all importation of heavy equipments, engines and railway coaches. Our polytechnics, universities, and home companies should be encouraged to partner with the foreign based ones for a transfer of technology and technical skills for assembly and eventual production of these items. (a detailed national plan as regards industrialization should be put in Place and activated). Also ensure persons of impeccable character and goal getters whom are well qualified and understand the overall goal and bigger picture are put in charge of the affected ministries, parastatals, and agencies. Pass laws that make it a criminal offense and makes it possible for the prosecution of directors of companies involved in contract scams as well as everyone linked to a poorly executed contract done for the people of Nigeria. 3. On the economy, create entrepreneurial labs in all the LGAs of the country manned by well qualified personnel whom have a good welfare structure in place for them, and are accessed on the successes of the various entrepreneurs they incubate and bring up. Every graduate and every business man with a business plan should be given direct access to these entrepreneurial labs whom will assist them in fine tuning their plan, recommending for funding and activating the business plan. There should be a direct linkage between these entrepreneurial labs and the various business schools/business Admin departments of various universities /polytechnics scattered around the county. The funding for these entrepreneurial growth should be at least 15% of the budget with contributions from the profits of firms as well as the CBN and Banks. 4. Massive investment in the education sector and the health sector. Give ASUU, NASU, and every university / polytechnic union what they want and more. Then put in place adequate monitoring mechanism to take care of truant Lecturers, lazy Lecturers, those that engage in sexual exploitation, cultism, etc. and completely deal with them and flush them from the system. The system should be merit driven and reward hard work and research amongst the academic community. Concerning the health sector, immediate upgrade of 1 teaching hospital in every geopolitical zone of the country to international world class standard. To achieve this, create a solar farm/alternate power for the supply of electricity in each of these teaching hospitals as the lack of it is the No. 1 problem hospitals face. Also head hunting of the best doctors and nurses and continuous training and certification programs for them. This would halt the medical tourism to other countries. Revamp the NHIS and make it a citizen friendly scheme to bring quality healthcare to every Nigerian. Also unveil a road map /long term plan for the health sector and protect the plan through the use of certain laws/regulations. This would enable different players in the health care sector key in at various levels and plan sufficiently as well as make the required investments. 5. Immediate institutional reforms for institutions such as INEC to make the electoral system more transparent, and make all votes count, and make it impossible for violators to go scot free. Prison service reforms especially as regards this on awaiting trial. Pursuing a complete computerization of the prisons service which would be linked to the police force, and also the Judiciary. 6. Creating a clear cut foreign policy of "Nigeria first". And implementing same for all Nigerians in any part of the world. 7. Proper manning of Nigeria's porous borders by deploying technology. Having a border station at every 50km of the border and utilizing drones for aerial surveillance. These border stations must all be linked by quality roads and a wire gauze fence erected with mines placed properly to stop any incursion through an unauthorized pathway. (this particular proposal is very doable and achievable especially in the far north. And for the riverine communities, proper mining of unauthorized zones with video and drone usage would halt entry through unathourized pathways) 8. Finally, creating a framework for illegal oil bunkerers / refiners operating in the Niger delta region to be supervised and enable them operate legally. Also setting up as much privately operated modular refineries as possible. Making sure that Ajaokuta steel and other steel companies are operating effectively and efficiently (liaising with NSE & COREN) to achieve this. To achieve this, I would need to appoint the best brains even if it entails head hunting Nigerians from any part of the world. To make up my aides and ministers. I should have a coordinating secretariat at the office of the presidency that would serve as my war room, and it would be operational 24/7 3 Likes |

Abolish the land use act. Restructure the country, based on Geopolitical regions. Liberalise Gun laws in the country. Let the citizens protect themselves and their community when the law enforcement can't. Decentralize the power grid and open up the power generation industry to private investment. Set anti Monopoly laws. Set a clear separation of church and state. Copy south Korea in that ever able bodied male has to undergo 2 years of military training. This should increase the discipline of the citizens. Anti grazing laws, it's 2020 ranching is the way to go. Etc. 1 Like |
