1. Gov. Godwin Obaseki has no congent reason for not tolerating and managing a man who risked loss of reputation, goodwill and relationships to make him governor because he believed he was a technocrat that Edo State needed. But Obaseki has rebellious personality, which is likely to make him disloyal. It is the same spirit that made him to refuse to appeal his disqualification, which is a direct disrespect to APC hierarchy and dishonour to his sympathizers in APC NWC and NEC. 2. As far as Oshiomole is concerned, this fight is about his political life and that of his followers. The death of CoS Abba Kyari who loathed him and supported Obaseki was an 'answered prayer". The truth is that a 2nd term for Obaseki means that Oshiomole would be as good as dead politically because Edo State would be hellish for him and his supporters and there will no space for them any longer in Edo APC. 3. As far as politics is concerned, nobody can at this stage predict for sure that APC will lose governorship election. In Nigeria politics, the victory of any candidate at election is sum total of effort and influence of supportive party members at ward and constituency levels. So, intensive and extensive campaign will be key. Unfortunately, Obaseki refused to swear in some State Assembly members. These members and many other heavyweights in Oshiomole's camp have their supporters and constituencies. Moreover, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is not a newcomer to Edo State politics if he wins the primaries. 4. It is natural that some people are disappointed with how the bubble burst for Obaseki. Interestingly, the feeling of tension and sense of disappointment that followed the imposition of Obaseki 4 years a go was a lot more intense than what it is today. The truth is that being outmanoeuvred in political game is part of politics. 60 Likes 7 Shares |

“I want us to be calling that building Godwin Obaseki building.I don’t see your opponent Ize-Iyamu being able to say that. In 2007, check the records, Ize-Iyamu was hiding from EFCC. He didn’t not vote. How can somebody who didn’t vote claim that he made me.Politics is a game of treachery. 18 Likes 1 Share |

Oshiomole is well known for lying with both sides of his mouth....the major reason he's fighting Obaseki now is for his selfish reasons...After retiring the likes of the igbenedions and Chief Tony Aneinh as Godfather's you want to assume their mantle......We Edo's are sensible to know that Obaseki hasn't done badly in governance, the likes of their kabaka and other touts who fed large from the state resources are all against Obaseki re election bid 32 Likes |

That's exactly how life is. No permanent friend, No permanent enemy. Someone loyal to you today can betray you tomorrow. Someone you trust so much with your life, can stab you at the back tomorrow. Just be good with everybody but never much from them.. At the end of the day, life goes on. 6 Likes 1 Share |

“A man like that who will not ask me to give him contracts, but will promise me, comrade, you just do the thinking, we will create the means to actualise your thoughts. And to his credit today, check the books of Edo state, we did not build new structures in government house with government money. That economic team office was built through Godwin’s network. Today, it remains a permanent asset of the state government. 2 Likes |

What is making me laugh is how some members of the public who aren't politicians are arguing for why godfathers should be worshipped and not fought. You hear them saying things like "loyalty" "outshining your master" etc. The same masses who are suffering bad governance and undemocratic practices are vehemently defending their oppressors. 31 Likes 2 Shares |

Read the statement carefully and you will understand why Nigeria is where it is today. Politicians and leaders are not the problems. It is we supporters. Except we change our behaviour, we can never be taken serious. If Obaseki also failed. Is it not time we vote any other candidate? Must it be Ize Iyamu? Is it not time to tell Oshiomole we are not F.O.O.L's? Why people still listen to Oshomole kind of politician beats my imagination. 7 Likes 1 Share |
