I was tempted to shoot an insult for the first time on NL but I realized there are far greater tribalists on this platform than you. You could have contributed by the first line alone but you went ahead to insult the intelligence of a people who played a very dynamic role in their capital during the last election. Tell me, are the Yorubas the only one practicing godfatherism? We have the same level of sickness as Nigerians and you think it's a tribal problem?

1. Gov. Godwin Obaseki has no congent reason for not tolerating and managing a man who risked loss of reputation, goodwill and relationships to make him governor because he believed he was a technocrat that Edo State needed. But Obaseki has rebellious personality, which is likely to make him disloyal. It is the same spirit that made him to refuse to appeal his disqualification, which is a direct disrespect to APC hierarchy and dishonour to his sympathizers in APC NWC and NEC.

2. As far as Oshiomole is concerned, this fight is about his political life and that of his followers. The death of CoS Abba Kyari who loathed him and supported Obaseki was an 'answered prayer". The truth is that a 2nd term for Obaseki means that Oshiomole would be as good as dead politically because Edo State would be hellish for him and his supporters and there will no space for them any longer in Edo APC.

3. As far as politics is concerned, nobody can at this stage predict for sure that APC will lose governorship election. In Nigeria politics, the victory of any candidate at election is sum total of effort and influence of supportive party members at ward and constituency levels. So, intensive and extensive campaign will be key. Unfortunately, Obaseki refused to swear in some State Assembly members. These members and many other heavyweights in Oshiomole's camp have their supporters and constituencies. Moreover, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is not a newcomer to Edo State politics if he wins the primaries.

4. It is natural that some people are disappointed with how the bubble burst for Obaseki. Interestingly, the feeling of tension and sense of disappointment that followed the imposition of Obaseki 4 years a go was a lot more intense than what it is today. The truth is that being outmanoeuvred in political game is part of politics.

Why exactly do you mean by "rebellious"?! Even Oshiomole has attested in the post that Obaseki's has rendered selfless service to Edo state without asking for money. The only "rebellious thing" here is that Oshiomole was not allowed access to the state treasurary to drain it.

That is why we are not making progress as a nation. Most of them feels Obaseki should have handed over the state treasurary to Oshiomole just to prove "loyalty".

he was in the economic team, he advises the governor on economic issues, implementation was not his job, same reason he was not pursuing contracts as attested to by oshomole himself

He was an economic adviser who advised on state eonomy and not consultant. So he was part of implementation too. Allocation of resources for hospital project vis-a-vis the social would have been done by him. In any case, he wasn't just an adviser, he was Oshiomole's 'personal person' then. Reason why he was made governor against odds.

Politics is a game.It is played by the smarts not anybody.you must perfect your skills to succeed.It is a game of tricks and maneuvers.you must be on top of your game to outsmart your opponent.This is same in all games whether football etc.It is not about ones achievements alone but you ability to capture and remain in power through tick and tin.I don't know why some us see it as one way traffic.Whatever happened recently didn't happen over night.it is a case of one believing in his 433 formation and the other believing in his tiki taka and spiecing it up with match fixing to get an edge.Commend both contestants ,it was worth it.one loose the other gained.lets move on.Thanks.

I am not ignorant. Economic team is a TEAM that involves rep of key ministries. Finance ministry does budgeting based on tactical and strategic economic plan of the state as advised and advanced by Economic team. Economic adviser functions at governor's office and he has ears of the governor who is the overall boss of all commissioners.

oga I can't shout, advisers don't implement executive projects, only commissioners and ministers do, adviser do not even have govt mechinery to implement any executive project because the ministries and parastatals which govt uses to implement it's projects are under the commissioners and ministers, educate yourself please.
