emmasoft:This means when we go into this investment, we will only know the percentage interest after 6months base on what we are paid? Or do they disclose it in any other way? |

emmasoft: if one goes for the 182days will the interest be paid twice in 6month? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmasoft(m): 9:43am On Jun 15, 2020 |
juniorrate: VGIF is not like Tbills. There is no tenor. Investors keep it as long as they want. All interest is per annum. The six months is not tenor it's just a holding period. You are free to hold VGIF for any period base on your investment objectives. At anytime you start your investment, your interest is prorated for the period your capital is invested. Example if one invest in VGIF this morning, you will get interest for 15th to 30th of June on your capital paid to you on1st of July cos payment is made 1st July and 1st January of each year. |

NL1960: You can do that anytime. It's like withdrawing cash from your bank account. No penalty except the withdrawal is being made earlier that six months of investing and in that case you lose 10% of your accrued interest with principal intact. |

Barrytone: I do not deal with AFRINVEST so I won't be able to answer your first question. To your other questions, yes banks still sell secondary market TB. I asked in a branch of FBN on the 29/05/20 and was told they have a bout 3 tenure but the rates were very poor. The highest tenure of about 357 they had that was pegged at about the rate of 2 point something. |

Oga Ahib, if luck shines on you and your connections give you oil wells through close ties with the government and boom you are a billionaire in dollars, I would still listen to you as an investment specialist. My opinion is that we can still take a cue from them regardless. No matter how they got there funds they had the option to lavish it. Footballers lavish more. The thought of investing is even worthy of emulating. 2 Likes |
