Last minute moves to save the re-election bid of Governor Godwin Obaseki by the Presidency last night appeared to have hit the brick-wall as Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, said they were going ahead with the direct primary scheduled for June 22. https://www.sunnewsonline.com/edo-guber-moves-to-save-obaseki-by-presidency-flops/ 1 Like 2 Shares

PDP should adopt Obaseki. To me he is more popular than all their 3 aspirants combined. You cant be more popular than a sitting governor (good or bad)..most times negative criticism is also good publicity Politics is all about taking risk, PDP should take the risk and give obaseki the ticket. He has more financial leg and spending power than their 3 aspirants combined, he will only do 4 years in office, that ize ize iyamu of a fool might want to do 8 years which means edo south may hold power for 12 years.. I am sure people from edo central and north should calculate and allow obaseki complete his tenure so power return to their constituency. 106 Likes 8 Shares |

If obaseki was told previously that his second tenure ambition would be in a state of jeopardy with a little dramatic display of political higi-haga whereby he did rally around topsy turvily in talks with political parties like a free agent whose football playing contract as been terminated, he would have discard it and see that as a total hogwash. Las Las! Lesson learnt is never start what you can't finish. 19 Likes |

Is there anything like presidency currently? The language is even colloquial since nothing good is happening there. Tunde Yusuf is the current defacto president after Abba Kyari death. Obaseki is a goner as long as presidency is concerned. Gone are the days when presidency has fear, integrity and courage. It has gone with OBJ and what we are seeing today is remnant of what is left in the system. 6 Likes |

In Nigeria when you hold a political position share the money amongst party members whatever is remaining you can use that to build deplorable roads for the people, with that the political class and the citizenry will celebrate you. Nigerian have a covenant with suffering. 6 Likes 1 Share |

The 'classic Obasek' my guy! I can imagine the feelings right now. Shaibu and the rest misled this guy and shaibu will be the biggest loser in all of this when Obaseki eventually decamp and loses at the main election. 10 Likes |

Is the presidency not concerned about the flaws in Obaseki's credentials?? Do they want a repeat of what happened in Bayelsa to befall them again-since the eyes of PDP has opened to using credentials against the APC. Obaseki should just go and sit and enjoy his loots, because he is a gonner 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Gov obaseki shot himself in the head. He drew the first sword by refusing to swear in 14 democratically elected law makers out of 24. Because of his desperation, he also refused the reconciliatory moves led by Gov ganduje as well as that of the National assembly intervention but now wants sympathy from people. All these pdp crying on his behalf are only waiting for him to contest so that they can benefit from his removal by the court. A lazy party that is calculating on an error to be committed by the opposition so they can steal the seat again just like Bayelsa. Obaseki is gone and gone for good. Next time, you don't try to wreck your party because of personal desperation 18 Likes 3 Shares |

Obaseki should do the needful and cross to the PDP. He will give APC sleepless nights if he crosses. Edo state is a PDP state. 7 Likes 3 Shares |
