Please reduce university grading system too as everything in Nigeria is degrading.
They set that cut off bcoz of northern students. By this they v opportunity to go gov university instead of private.
Nigeria can only get worse. I've lost hope.

All these trash cut off are only for the dullard arewas, I'm sure South West universities will never take less than 200 as usual. Even the 200 is of very low chance. If you're choosing UNILAG for example, you must not score less than 215-220 to stand a chance for the lowest course in the school. That's standards.

What people don't understand is that the cut off mark posted by universities is fake. Please aspiring students, don't look up or set your target towards that mark. Add at least 100 marks as your target to that publicly declared cut off mark.

The departments admit students from the highest score and they normally have a quota to admit, and once the number is reached, that automatically becomes the cut off mark. Thats why students that have average jamb score of 250 and above still don't get admission. The competition is high now.
For instance, a department has a quota to admit 100 students. If the top 70th student got 294 as his average score, that automatically becomes the cut off for that year, the truth is that schools no longer determine the cut off mark by themselves. The rest 30 students are now given to the catchment area, educationally disadvantaged areas, man know man, and other wuruwuru. So if you're hoping to get on merit, u have to jettison this public cut off mark, add another hundred marks and double your effort.

We keep. Lowering education standards in this country. Tomorrow now somebody will say poly degree and university degree should be equal. Are their admission cut offs equal?
