My second baby had jaundice, we didnt know until day 4 when we went back for testing, spent about 3days under the light, the thing wasnt coming down. I immediately started pawpaw therapy and that helped us together with morning sunlight.

Birth weight - 3.03kg
She was conceived via IVF as I had a blocked Fallopian tube and PCOS. Also has 2 subserous fibroids. The pregnancy was relatively easy. I only was at the hospital on account of pain from the fibroid twice when they were moving. The CS procédure went very well. I had a very positive experience and great recovery - already walking around with minimal pain. Still getting a hang of breastfeeding but taking my time. In all baby and mum are doing superb while daddy is elated.

I wish my other June team mates and every expecting person here a successful delivery.

you can express breastmilk and beg the nurses to regularly fed your baby.
we used sunlight when we were discharged too.
Ask your PD to know what is happening 4 weeks is too long.

I don't have a child yet but I have watched my sis in law almost killed herself when her baby had jaundice and the private specialist hospital she/we was/were using continue milking us till there is no money and the hospital asked her to talk her baby somewhere else since they don't have money.
4am, she got a car to take her to shomolu health centre, from there the baby was transferred to Massey. the nurses and doctors at Massey abused our lives but we didn't mind. Baby was taken from us and kept under the light with ultimate care. within a week we have our baby back.
one thing we learnt from that situation was that, private hospital sometimes intentionally delay treatment so as to milk their patients.
I was also having some treatment in same hospital, I stopped when the madam said trigger injection is 10,000 per shot, after paying 5000 for consultation each time i visit the hospital, when I told this my sis in law, she felt I wasn't serious about TTC, until the woman milked her too.
please if you have the means take that baby to Massey or any government owned hospital that you know can take care of such. I know most health centre will such baby and they transferred to a higher institution if need be.

Trust your doctor, if you have any concerns and questions, approach them. I think your case is a little different because baby is preterm cos babies with jaundice need to be fed on demand and as often as possible, so they can pass it out.

This too shall pass. Be strong.

Edit: I just read where you said he eats well and has no other issues. I dont know why he is still kept there even after transfusion. Most hospitals discharge with levels less than 10 sef, my daughter had 11.1 at first, it dropped to 9 or so after the 3days treatment and we used the pawpaw thing thereafter.

But my sister, what I want you to know, effects of prolonged and untreated jaundice is very bad. No two cases are the same.

Why not seek a second opinion, preferably in a teaching hospital.

Pls I need some form of information, I'm two months pregnant with my 4th child, I always wanted 4 children and though I didnt want d fourth one too soon as d last is just two and wasn't sure about my husband's preference but to him the number of children we should have depends on our financial power. I'm in my late 30's my husband 40. When I broke d news to him, he got very angry telling me we can hardly pay fees of d 3 we have that he doesn't need any more children at all that people will just be laughing at him that I should pls go and do what I have to do Since then he has not talked to me (And I know him, he will continue being angry till I remove this child). Our total monthly pay is around 230k. We contribute equally. He's not making effort to increase finance but just talks of business ideas but never seems to actualize d dreams just always talking n talking of plans since I know him all he do is talk no move. Well apart from goin to open leg for evacuation which I'm not comfortable with, pls my question is, is there any drug I can just swallow to quietly do d job without any complications? Meanwhile I was on birth control pills when this happened and I only saw oga like two times that particular month so I don't know how it happened. Pls what can i take without complications im like 2 months now

For that blood level, please as moms here always suggest, look for garden egg leaves and chew. It tastes like the actual garden eggs. Take your drugs too, and eat well (lots of vegetables). I do a lot of efo riro and steamed ugu, tomatoes, pepper and crayfish to eat with rice. You'll be fine.

I had wanted to say this ( taking the child to Massey), @bettylizzy if you are in Lagos, find your way to Massey children hospital for the sake of that baby and if you are not in Lagos move that baby away from that private facility, take him to general hospital or teaching hospital around you. private will keep milking you until you have nothing more left moreover they don't always have much pead consultant as government hospital. at Massey you will spend less and the child will be well attended to by specialist but the nurses and cleaners get bad mouth sha ooooo, just ignore them.

Please complain to your doctor. Blood level is low. Your doctor should prescribe drug for blood. Other sabi mamas will advice you.

Last night I drank cornflakes with my children, I didn't take much although I made it for myself but they won't allow me to shine. In the night, the tightening worsened, stomach pain, headache and nausea. I kept turning from one side to another but yet I wasn't comfortable. I rushed to the bathroom, vomiting and pooping at the same time. The vomit has a very very bitter taste, when I tried forcing out the vomit, I felt something come out from my HP, I checked it was clear, large amount of MP, I started crying and begged baby to please wait till next month cos we're just 34weeks gone. I drank 5 satchel water at a go, dunno how I did it but I did it.

Pele teamie, it is well. Just try and rest well. Since the baby is fine and cervix is closed too, there's nothing to worry about but watch what you eat. Sorry dear.

You're lucky na. Mine was 2.8kg at 36 weeks. Don't know what it is now though.

Sorry for being blunt but pls be reasonable.

When I was pregnant with my second baby, my husband and my mom was not happy because our monthly income combined as at then was less than 30k. When I found out I was pregnant, I was depressed and sad. There was no means of taking care of the pregnancy together with my first child (so I thought). I couldn't go through with the abortion, told my DH that I'll rather die than abort. I no abort when I was single na when I marry I go con start. I kept the pregnancy, no antenatal, no routine drugs. I gave birth to her at home with the help of my sis in law who's a nurse. In short, I had the beautiful princess and she became my jackpot. 40days after her birth, I got a well paid job and by God's Grace, we'll be moving to our own house by July ending Insha Allah. My third baby is on the way and I pray for more blessings.

What I'm trying to say in essence is that, every child comes with its own blessings. Pls don't abort.

Please don't abort the baby. Your husband is just angry for now but he will come to terms with the situation with time. With a monthly income of 230k you can live a comfortable life if you manage your resources well. You can start a side hustle online that can be bringing in money in bits from time to time. Some people are not earning up to 50k monthly but they are surviving.

Every child is a blessing, please protect this child and let the angel live.

Sister this goes beyond additional baby coming. Maybe your husband is depressed but doesn't know how to go about it. You know men with their ego always thinking that they can man it up. Please pray to God to restore spirit of joy to his heart. At the end this baby will be daddy's favourite and bringer of joy to your heart anytime you set eyes on him/her. Children like that comes in times like this usually comes with great destiny and huge breakthroughs.

28% is not okay at all, i suffered same blood shortage not too long ago,same 28%, I didn't take any blood tonic or drugs rather I used garden egg leaf( plenty of it), squeezed ugu water and malt and milk, then while making my tea I use a lot of milk, I checked 5 days ago and the blood level is now 35%, try these things and see if it would work for you..
