Let me update you all, I visited Galway, after hearing how Edsheeran sang about the city. He kept repeating Galway girls, I decided to take a little break off and see for myself. I'm not exactly in the Galway city. I'm currently at the county. The county is the area surrounding the city, Dublin has lots of counties, same as Galway. My friend lives in Loughrea(pronounced as Lockrea) Small town, big churches, great school, one huge supermarket(Aldi), The Aldi is super cheap, if it was in Nigeria, market women will be put out of business. We only have Spar in Nigeria, even here, spar is ridiculously expensive. One good thing they're not out of business is cos theyre smaller and scattered all over. It might be easier to get to them for emergency items incase lidl or Aldi was far. Another reason is that they host the An post, the An post which is the local country's federal post office have a partnership to host them so people can post items, send money around, and receive items. When I used to collect government money. I go there to get it in cash. The spar just give the An post a portion in one corner of the space the size of a Danfo. Yeah really!!!! And also they always have a ATM, very functional and utilitarian in perspective. For an Economist like me, I never buy a thing there, I did in my first day in Ireland. Was hungry after the flight and wanted to sleep by 6am, it was getting dark o, my circadian rhythm kicked in, I just walked 5min there and bought a meal, serve your self style. They charged per kilo I guess, theyll weigh it and that's your bill. I posted it the beginning of the thread. I'm having great food here, my host is irish and a great cook. I had my first Irish breakfast here, I insist on small portions. It helps to keep my tummy flat and in great shape. I also avoid beer, I only drink whiskey and Rum. I Checked my weight here in the bathroom, i weighed 85kg. I was shocked. I used to be in 70kg. I will have a full Irish breakfast tomorrow and will post it. The typical irish breakfast consists of bacon, sausage, egg, white n black pudding, steak, mushrooms( not like the type we eat in Nigeria, it has the texture of a boneless meat), buttered bread, one fried tomato (whole), gosh. There was no pepper, no salt, and I love it. If I wanted to eat that in a restaurant, theyll charge me at least €10. While it cost my host, €1.50 to make my portion. It was great I came here, I'm having a go at various food I will have to travel around to taste, for free!!!!!!!!. 10 Likes |

The bus came......x20 It was slooooowwwwww, the road was free and it kept dragging its feet, the engine was so calm and stable. Comparing it to the trips I got from the fast n furious way we drive in Nigeria. This was worse than brt. I got bored staring out of the window. Though I did have enough time to meditate and think and plan but stating out of the window and seeing one tree not going away as quick as it comes. You remember the gravity that pulls you back when you drive fast, I barely felt it. Though it safe to drive at the speed limit and the impact from Collision is lesser when the driver either loses control or dozes off. Lol But still when you look forward and see no vehicle ahead with No Single POTHOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! You start to expect more in terms of speed, you know It reminds me of the saying.....to whom much is given, much is expected. 8 Likes 1 Share

Samuelsegs:Lol Well, that's the thing, two weeks ago, I said something about the difference between Eating out and cooking the food yourself. It's very very cheap to buy groceries. Food here is cheap What is not cheap is service like barbing, cooking the food, bus driving, car repair, taxi, hair dressing, ha, to plait your hair might cost you about €80, this is for women o, if you're coming here, buy your wigs, also some buy wigs and all plus Extensions in aliexpress. Haircut for me is €10, I got recently got a friend that does it for €5. I still spend €5 on the bus but the good thing is that we will gist and talk about stuffs, which I may not enjoy from a random barber. I can enjoy pizza here for €1, all i got to do is go to the frozen section, buy it and microwave. While I can easily spend €14 for the same size of pizza delivered to my house, only that its fresher, and might be a bit hot. Not a fan of pizza Cake is cheap here. Label food, lol 12 Likes 1 Share |

It has a strange Italian name plus salad.i forgot it quickly hahaha. Made with Cheese, basil leaves, and fried tomato sprinkled with black peppers. Its was cool, lots of flavors and very light and quick to make. Restaurants offer arts instead of food, the food has to look very beautiful for your friends on Instagram, you never get full so you can check the menu again to unlock another of those complex dishes with your money. After devouring the food above, It was as if i didnt eat anything. I wont lie, they call it something you eat before the main course, appetizers. an Italian dish, once they add a complex name to a food, the price goes up. They dont waste time. There are experts that sit and form these names, you can see Peruzzi de Busaras salad for simple cuisine like cheese salad, and it will attract a high prize. The food above can be €30 in a high class restaurant that makes it, while my host made mine n his for Less than €3. Finally got the name Its Mozzarella Salad. My friend said that the Italians have a different and seductive name for it. 11 Likes

This food looked so good, smells nice, I forgot to ask about the name, I just dived in and I remembered you guys, I had to snap the dish from someone that hasnt started to eat. The round yellow stuff is Irish potato, theres streak, vegetables...Zucchini, sweet peppers(yellow), mushrooms, and onions with a brown gravy sprinkled with salt and black peppers. This black pepper thing sef eh, e tire me, its hot in anyway, it has its taste tho. The sweet pepper. has various colors, yellow, red and green, not chilli, just sweet 5 Likes

Chiggsglover: God dammit... I like food die.. PIZZA FAN here.. I'd easily get fat in two months i still doubt €1 for a full PIZZA it's really too cheap, I've seen the one of €4 As for the breakfast... The Irish potato and steak is what attract me most I hate onions.. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to eat that in public cuz I go select those things wey I no like out.. and as for the Italian food.. Don't tell me you eat those Leafs... lol.. I'd only eat the Cheese and nothing more.. Thanks a lot for showing us this... God bless your good work.. And how are your New irish friends treating you.. Compared to Nigerians, Hope you haven't by any chance encountered Racism.. Still expecting pictures of the City tho.. 6 Likes |

The Full Glorious Irish breakfast I took my time to savor every bite and variety. I'm definitely gonna upgrade my breakfast menu. It tasted so good, especially when it's hot. After eating this, I had to sit down and appreciate life for making me taste that, I wasnt very full and I wasnt hungry, it looks small but it kept me full for long. My friend asked me what I wanted for breakfast. I simply requested for it again. It was delightful. Me i dont like to cook, cooking has tire me, I swear. 12 Likes

Danny6552: Lol That's how 5 star restaurant serve food oooo. You'll will leave there satisfied but not full. Remember models and rich folks go for these. Unlike Nigeria, in a developed country, people go to restaurants not to fill their bellies till the next time they get money, they go to the restaurant for the experience. The aim is to present food as Art and not as a means for survival. 11 Likes |
