Bull crap baldadash. You know nothing kid. Instead of you to be fighting for an egalitarian society in which rule of law and good governance prevails, you're ranting about religion. Is religion the cause of poverty in Africa? Is religion responsible for the poor governance we have in Nigeria or Africa? Infact religion opposes the oppression of the masses as well stated in the holy books

Let me tell you, most of the highly developed countries we have today, their foundation are based on the tenents of bible principles. UK, US, France, Italy, Germany are where they're today be cause of their believe in religion. US was established by respectable men of God like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and other men of God. Today america motto is God bless america.
Even the greatest scientists the world ever had, many of them are from Christian backgrounds. Michael Faraday was a church organist, Isaac newton was a church chaplain, Robert Hook was a pastor, he helped built the Westminster abbey. Most of world inventions today are from Christian adherents. So be guided op. Religion has helped to bring morals, and discipline and not otherwise.
Fight for good leadership and governance and leave religion out of your misery.

Qatar and United Arab Emirates are one of the most developed and richest countries in the world.

They practice Islam not Christianity.

How did their country get so rich and developed without your favourite religion Christianity

Religious war is responsible for the loss of millions of lives in history.

The Christian crusaders slaughtered millions of people to spread Christianity.
The Muslim jihadist killed millions as well to spread Islam.

Go and read your history books.

The damage religion caused mankind far outweighs whatever good you think it did mankind.

In the dark ages religion tried to block the progress of science and technology.

The Catholic Church in the the time of Spanish inquisition executed people who tried to develop the knowledge of science.

Go and study the stories of martyrs of science and you will see dozens of scientists who were killed for practicing science which was considered to be from the devil by the Catholic, Roman and Spanish inquisitions.

List the good things religion brought to mankind and I will list a hundred bad things it did.

And you are pharisee-ometre or what?

How can one lump all the ills in the society and try to pin it on religion alone. Religion isnt a magical fix but must be diligently applied. Anyone blaming religion for not solving mans problem is being stupíd in full. Religion is a channel to God but many see it as tradition because they were born into it and that explains why religious strongholds and clusters exist from place to place around the world.

I wonder who you are having this discussion with.

Over two thousand years ago, there were no religions but each human culture had it's own theology different to each other like their languages. What we need today is theology which is the study of God not religion.

You see why so called Christians envy ritualist and are after easy money.
God doesn't dash money like that, He gives the wisdom to makes more goods, products & services and when supply beats demand, life becomes easier.

With my personal Experience, Observation and inner conviction, I think I dont want to be part of any religion again. This thing is truely an opium of illusion meant for people who cant take their destiny in their hands and for a sheeple masses.

Despite withdrawing from religion I found myself even having a better moral compass which I cant explain. We are throwing away common sense, hardwork and universal principles to leave in illusion. At the end of my observation I have come to the conclusion that its what you do for yourself that counts more.

When I see poor people dying of hungry in a country which have the capacity to be the global industrial hub I know we have throw away common sense, Nigeria biggest investment to South Africa is Religious buildings (Church) while here in Nigeria the South Africans brought us MTN, DSTV, SHOP RITE e.t.c which employs thousands of people and gives profit to our Investors inventing in the stocks and shares of those companies I realise religion is lack of common sense.

No amount of religion can make you succesful without application of common sense.
No amount of religion can make your marriage succesful without application of common sense and consideration for your partner.
No amount of religion can a nation grow and prosper without application of common sense, productivity and good policies.

At the end of it I think am leaving religion, its not worth it. Even uprightness and moral comes from a person inner conviction and not because of religion.

Dear Poster, the reason why u made your personal opinion public is left for u to answer.

With all what u wrote up there, it’s too obvious u went to d market but u never focused on what u wanted to buy; therefore giving room for distractions. If u are a true Christian; I mean a real follower of our savior Jesus Christ u won’t put up this post at all. Going to church won’t save u, yes but it does have a way to uplift ur Christian life.

If u are a true Christian, u can’t avoid not going to church. The world may come to an end soon, let’s be more committed in our Christian race. Shalom!

he doesn't need your imaginary Jesus christ he needs common sense to rule his word and to impact his community.....To be morally upright is just by common sense...Anyway religion will become extinct soon. The white men fooled our forefathers with religion, Our forefather lacked common sense and it is affecting us till today.

It is very clear that you've not encountered God...
Let me tell you why you want to be an athiest

1. The freedom to believe and live the way you want is so important to you than the fact that they is someone in charge of the whole thing and having a standard that will hold you accountable to, is just way too much to submit yourself to him- because that means he might put a wet blanket in some of the things you want to do

2 maybe just because you can not prove his existence, you now concluded there is no God.
Before you come up with a reply to this go and think again...
Please Let me show you JESUS...I know God allow me to show you God...

Yes Christianity is a lifestyle or relationship or whatever u want to call it but it is also a religion, the term "CHRISTIANITY" represents an abrahamic religion which originated from Jesus Christ. Whatever u wish to consider it as is fine but the term Christianity fits into whatever the term religion represents.

God does speak to us. Can you figure out how?

At your example, you say all of that becos you do not understand d resons for the evil and suffering in d world.

Now lets go back to what d world was like when God first made it: A beautiful garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were to fill d earth with children and subdue it. But they were given a very simple rule. The devil however made them an offer which he they considered more superb than d one God did them. The result of that decision is what we are still experiencing thousands of years later.

Now God is his infinite mercy recognises that his intentions for humans was not for them to die at a 100 years or even fall sick. So he makes a remedy for people who do not wish to tow the part of Adam and Eve by providing the ransom. If you believe as recorded in John 3:16, you'll be saved.

You see ehn, service to God is quite easy and straight forward. But people have complicated it with several dogmas and doctrines. If you desire to know the truth about God, you could.

Think about how God took his time to prepare the earth, 5 good days, before making man on the 6th day. And tell me if God did not create man for enjoyment. That same God is the one you're describing as abusive.

Why not take time to get to know him better?

Sadteen:

If God wants a relationship with him, it should be a relationship where only one party does all the talking. Relationships thrive when there's a good healthy interesting conversation in it. You don't claim to want a relationship with someone yet you act as though very oblivious to the likes and preferences and feelings of the person. Most humans want a relationship but an engaging one where both parties are very much invested in seeing the relationship grow. In the case of God and his children, it seems to me as an abusive relationship where the children are forced to love God because they don't want to go to hell. In this same relationship, his children are also known to swallow a lot of bullshit and accept mediocrity as fantastic because again they are scared of what God will do to them should they speak up or challenge him

For example: a child of God will sing praises and love songs to God even when he or she hasn't eaten in days and is starving, when he manages to find food let's say the food of very poor diet, he will leap for joy and start singing and praising God for being very good to him. At the end of the year, he goes to his local church for Thanksgiving for the goodness of his God when his God was very capable of providing him with better. This same person would call out or insult his biological father if his (father) is capable of taking care of him but isn't and providing him with poor diet when he could easily bless his son with a rich diet to nourish his body

This is not how to be in a relationship with anybody how much more a whole heavenly father. I don't know how people manage such relationships and still fake happiness when deep down in their hearts they are unhappy, their hearts yearns for better, for freedom, for love with action and more

Which kind of heaven on earth are they living in when loads of them are homeless, millions of them living with mental health disorders like depression, various anxiety disorders, many are lonely without anyone who loves and cares for them, loads of them abandoned in care homes etc. Is that what heaven looks like to you?
Western world only seems like heaven when people view it through the lens of Africa. For such whites who know only the life in the West, most of them dont think they are in heaven.

NB: South Africa is not part of the Western World. It is a freaking African country, just that they are more developed than Nigeria and other backward African countries.
first of all south Africa is western, western country is not by continent, Australia is western, new Zealand is,japan and south South Korea is,when you say western,it means practice not location, and when i talk about heaven dont mean paradise but eternity, don't get it twisted, when someone die they say he goes to heaven, paradise or hell no one is sure, but the way pink people lives, they don't care about eternity, thats why even when they find out asteroids are coming towards earth, the dont go to fasting and prayers to enter paradise, they either look for a way to stop it or get busy finding another planet that can inhabit mankind.

Playing religion will take no one to heaven. After all, many of these thieving politicians are given front seats in church, read 1st and 2nd lessons and after church, return to their looting and womanizing ways.

Rather, have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and do what he says in the bible. Ask God to give you an interpretation of what the words of the bible say rather than swallowing all you hear on pulpits hook, line and sinker. That which God reveals to you, no one can take away.

Christianity is a not a religion. True Christianity is a way of life. The Pharisees were practitioners of religion, and yet Christ condemned them because they did not have love for God in their hearts.

How can you love God whom you cannot see, when you cannot love your neighbour whom you can see? You hate people from a particular tribe, you hate people because they are progressing more than you, you stab people in the back to climb ahead, you gloat over people's misfortune, you live in malice and unforgiveness, you are not a Christian even if you attend all the programs and services in your church.

Not all who call on God, will enter into the kingdom. Why did Jesus make that statement? Go figure.

I don't get u bro!

We need to a have a Relationship with JESUS CHRIST.

Christianity is not a Religion as people say!
Being a Christian is having a Relationship with JESUS. In a lay man's word it is Having JESUS in you.

A Sinner man /woman does not have JESUS irrespective of Whatever you claim you are.

A Christian is not a Sinner and a Sinner is Not a Christian.. 1 John 3:8-9

Having a Relationship with JESUS is the key!

You do that By Acknowledging you are a Sinner
You Confess your sins to JESUS
You Ask JESUS to come into you. See the Prayer of Salvation on our Signature.

If you do that and you mean it, you are automatically saved! You are born again!

You need to begin a solid Foundation with JESUS.

You have The Holy Bible to guide you
You could also get a Bible Believing Church were you will be taught to know more about JESUS.

Don't fail to repent whenever you go astray!
