Nigeria midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu is set to join Turkish Super Lig club Istanbul Baseksehir on a permanent deal. Azubuike linked up with Baseksehir from Egyptian club Pyramid on a one-year loan deal last summer. The two clubs acccording to AOI Football are in advanced talks to make the deal permanent. “The paper works have been done, but clubs have reached advanced discussions so it’s just left for all parties involved to sign and then the deal is done,” Okechukwu revealed to AOIFootball.com. The 23-year-old has featured in 17 league games for Basaksehir this season. Okan Buruk’s men top the table with 59 points from 28 games. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Highly-rated attacker Chukwubuike Adamu was at his blistering best as Liefering beat Wacker Innsbruck 4-1 away from home in the Austrian Erste Liga. The 19-year-old scored from the spot in the 39th minute, before adding gloss to the scoreline with a 57th-minute strike. Chukwubuike, who also scored thrice in five UEFA Youth League games before Liefering were eliminated now has 12 goals in 17 league matches this season. Wanted by Arsenal and Others His brilliant form in the UEFA Youth League attracted interest from a host of top European clubs, with Arsenal believed to be the front-runners. AC Milan, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Liverpool are the other top European teams that are tracking the progress of the Kano-born attacker. The twinkle-toed attacker has also been compared to PSG superstar Neymar due to his deft touches, fanciful footwork and colourful hairstyle International Scene Chukwubuike is expected to spark a tug-of-war between Nigeria and Austria in the coming months as he's still eligible to play for his country of birth despite representing Austria at youth level. In three games for the Austrian U-19, he has scored three goals - proving that he can deliver for both club and country. Another talent spotted a one to keep an eye on 2 Likes 2 Shares |

JayromWrites: You are changing my narrative and proposition completely to suit your own. To summarise I made it clear the EPL is the most competitive league in the World. Best is open to debate. With regards to the Championship it is the most competitive and best 2nd tier in the World. It is undoubtedly the 2nd tier with the most finances and better players mostly follow the €€€£££. Last seasons Newport County in the 4th tier of English football knocked out Leicester City 2-1 in the FA cup. Does that make them better ❓ l dont think so. Athletico Madrid played a very defensive game and were able to win the game. They played thier tactics and they won. Is Athletico Madrid better than Liverpool ❓ Again l very much doubt it. Everton will beat Villa Real IMO, l watched them struggle against Glasgow Rangers to draws and played the last half with only 10 men. Does that make Rangers better than Villa Real❓ Not exactly. With regards to Everton and Villareal they don't have the same level of quality and will certainly not be able to deal with the physicality of Everton. It is not as simplistic as you are trying to present. Consider Etebo, who has had a torrid time this season in the Championship. Has gone straight too La Liga and is getting SERIOUS game time and doing quite well. Getafe is top 5 team in La Liga. Do you think Etebo will be considered at Man U, Wolves and or Tottenham these clubs are all below 5th position in the EPL. Considering the quality these clubs have in midfield. Villareal is 6th currently do you think they will beat Wolves, Tottenham, Sheffield United, Crystal Palace. I doubt it. Now let's go to bottom 5 of La Liga , with Celta Vigo, Mallorca and Leganese. Look at the players they have and tell me they will beat Watford, West Ham and Villa In football nothing is certain but on paper just looking at the players I very much doubt it. I am looking at the value placed on the players. You will now say l am biased. But if you like look at Fulham and their players and transfer value. I actually consider Mitrovic a EPL quality striker playing in the Championship. You may say money is not everything in the end your €€€£££ will make a big difference IMO. 1 Like |

komekn: I think England is yet to bring up brilliant tactical minded playing midfielders. That is something they are yet to sort out in their training patterns. Billy Gilmore is showing signs but when will we see a large production of players with the kind of Quality Paul Scholes showed. I think that is something Pep is trying to instill in Foden and I hope he assimilates it fast. Or, Pep might have to go to the market for a Silva replacement. I am talking of the kind of tactical quality we find in Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Carzola, Koke, Xabi Alonso, Thiago, Isco and Sarabia. Look at this clip of a young Oliver Torres. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__z3eX9mWcE |

Paul Bassey blasts LMC, says they have not given ‘kobo to clubs in three years’ Chairman of Akwa United Football Club of Uyo, Elder Paul Bassey says he has a problem with the League Management Company, LMC, on how they are running the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, in the past three years. In an interview with Inspiration 105.9FM in Uyo today, Bassey said the LMC must look for investors to invest in the league. The LMC was issued license in 2012 to “organize and regulate the top tier league for the purpose of organizing and promoting the league to meet global technical and commercial standards.” “My problem is with the LMC, if you set people together to run a league for you, they must look for investors,” Bassey told Inspiration FM. The veteran sports journalist and administrator said NPFL clubs in the past three years are sponsoring themselves to play matches, stating that LMC has not given any money to these teams. “The problem we have is that for the past three years, clubs are sponsoring themselves to matches home and away, the LMC have not given a kobo to these clubs, that is why when people say government has no business running the league, that government should hands-off, but if government says they are not sponsoring the teams, football will die in Nigeria, if you want to face government out of the league, it has to be a gradual process. “For the past three years, LMC have not done anything, they will stay in Abuja and give instructions to teams. In January, we played six matches in one week, we are a government-owned club, we receive subventions at the end of the month which covers four matches in a month, yet LMC will tell you to go and play six matches, they will bring fixtures and call it a reschedule match, they don’t do anything. Elder Paul Bassey calls on the League Management Company to give the opportunity to other bodies to manage the league if they cannot carry out their core mandate. “If they cannot manage the league, they should give others opportunity to try, in 2018 we had a problem, 2019 there was a problem and 2020 the same thing, if we continue like this, there is no way any investor will want to invest in this league.” Source: TheAthleticNG https://theathletic.com.ng/paul-bassey-blast-lmc-says-they-have-not-given-kobo-to-clubs-in-three-years/ 3 Likes |

Victor Osimhen's Dad, Mr. Patrick Osimhen, was finally laid to rest on Tuesday, June 23, at Ojodu, Lagos. May his soul find good rest. The time of mourning is over. Time for Victor to rise from this and push on to the next phase of his career. Never an easy experience losing your Dad but Victor is a strong lad. Time to move on and face the challenges ahead with an even stronger mentality. 5 Likes |

komekn: I'm not shifting the post You made it seem like outside Real and Barca, the teams in the La Liga can never compare to clubs in England Football is not linear equation Etebo was always bigger than the championship and Getafe is not a traditional top 5 team, they are having a great season, and Yes!! He will have a starting shirt in teams like Sheffield United. The premier league is the most financially buoyant league in europe but football playing, it's not 1+1 Celta Vigo will surely pick at least 5 points from games with Watford, Villa and Norwich And also bringing Rangers to talk town Villarreal.. Which team knocked out Celtic from Europa?? A team from Denmark Nobody is saying La Liga is better or the segunda division is better than the championship but then, you can't just talk down the league because you want to talk down a player. Las pamas came and played great football.. Girona also played good football... 5 Likes |
