Jwonder: Yep! The market is not buoyant enough for high end goods. See how Itel, Infinix and Tecno that nobody want in the West are the ones Nigerians flock to buy. Vodafone, Bouygues, EE, AT & T and others have avoided 9ja telco sector like plague. Companies in other non-food & non-essenco sectors will struggle seriously going forward. 6 Likes |

Mr Price shouldn't put exclusive blame on Nigeria's business climate. After all, they closed their stores in both Australia and Poland earlier. They should rather learn how to run a sustainable business in many different climes simultaneously. 8 Likes |

Septuagenarian:lol U should be begging them to stay a little till corona aftermath when things begin to pick up and normalize again. Come to think of it, how many times have u seen jobs and utility created? They would rather embezzle and launder it elsewhere. For these investors to take it upon themselves to invest despite the volatile unfavorable unhealthy environment, I think they should be commended. 1 Like |

adioolayi: Oga. If you go to Ghana or Togo to establish a business and cannot bring back your profits to Nigeria or worst still your capital or God forbid the loans you took to establish it, what will you do?. The ability to move your resources at will is key to the ease of doing business and is fundamental to foreign investment. In a nutshell if you make it hard for capital to go out it will be hard to come in. That is not rocket science, it is common sense and that is why the only group of investors willing to do anything with us are the Lebanese, Indians and Chinese, a group not known for ethical practices. And no country can do without foreign investments, no country has all the human, monetary and material resources to develop independently. 3 Likes |
