Nairobi slums - 5% of the built up area and 2% of the landmass.

In Nairobi West and south - we have Kibera, Kawangware and Kangemi.

In Nairobi East and South - There is Mukuru slum complex, VIwandani and Soweto - again established along river corridors.

Note slum - in Kenya are either near industrial area or rich neighborhood where slum dwellers work as maids and gardeners

Nairobi North - has Mathare -Kariobangi-dandora - along Nairobi river. And that is all - one acre slum in highride and runda maybe.

People are natural resources too. All you have to do is to build your people and stop wasting foreign loans on conspicuous projects that add little to the betterment of Kenyans. Corruption is another thing that holds you down.
As long as you have majority of your people living in slums, unemployed and starving, no matter what you say about Ease of Doing Business and other cooked data that do not support the situation on ground, is just hogwash.

I will not even lie, 85 percent of Lagos island is a slum, thst is a fact poor roofing, old buildings but there is now hope because they have just finalized the design of the Lagos island regeneration plan, it basically entails moving some of the people currently living in those buildings to the new ilubirin housing scheme, rebuilding the balogun market and turning it into a massive mall, than demolishing the rest of the buildings and turning them into high rises see pics down below, the last pic is construction progress on the low cost apartments for the people living in the slum of Lagos island.

First, you have to admit that we have done well compared to our peers in Sub Sahara Africa. Extremely well in my view. Which is why we are largest non-mineral economy in SSA.

2nd, there indeed no excuse for being poor, which explains why are working hard to fix our issues.

We are very hopeful and optimistic we can fix our issues. I wish I could say the same about Nigeria.

Anyway once you manage to fix simple stuff like 24-7 electricity - we can have an adult conversion.
