Volunteer, do internships and get the necessary experience. Forget chasing that "big money job", you will get it eventually with commitment and willingness to learn.

Once you have the needed experience and skills (real applicable skills o and not theory you learned in university), you will be on a position to get the big job eventually.

Anyway it worked for me and I've turned down big job offers that I wouldn't have dreamed of even applying for 4-5 years ago.

HOW A Q and A APP USER BLEW OUR MINDS. DO THE SAME!

We received a mail from a regular Q and A App user who had used FREE job test preparation materials on the App to prepare for a Job Test.

It's international development (NGOs) actually. There's a wide range of skills and experience you need. From public health, water sanitation and hygiene, shelter, monitoring and evaluation, statistics, accounts, human resources. I work in water sanitation and hygiene but where you get in depends on your experience and interests

Forget Facebook, Instagram and the rest for now. They won't help you. Also try to have at least 300 connections to make you seem credible. Post things (articles, pictures, etc) related to your industry.

2.) Make a list of at least 300 companies you'd like to work with. Find out the names and emails of the person hiring, e.g, The Hiring Manager, The Human Resources Manager, etc. If you can't find those, the CEO will do. People are more likely to respond to a ''Dear Mrs Kemi'' or "Hello Mr Dozie" than a "Dear Ma" or Hello Sir". Remember that LinkedIn you joined, it will come in handy here.

Send each one an email, stating whom you are, your qualifications, what you are bringing to the table, i.e, how you can help their company. Make it short! Busy executives don't have time to read long emails. Also make it about them, they don't want to read your life story. You can google job application cold email samples to get a clearer idea of what I mean.

3.) Don't wait till you're done with NYSC. I made this mistake. Start applying like two months before passing out. After NYSC, apply to a minimum of 30 jobs daily. Don't just apply randomly, that's how people are scammed. They apply to so many jobs that they don't know whether the one sending them message is one that they applied to. The mistake I made during my NYSC was that I didn't save for to start a business from my NYSC stipend. It wasn't actually a mistake tho because I had alot of people to cater for with my 19,800... I hope you have a business in view brother..life is hard after NYSC.

I used my service year to aquire in demand skills like web development/design(with HTML,J's,PHP,css and cms like WordPress), search engine optimization, content and copywriting, and improved on my graphic design skills.

I leverage on LinkedIn to position my self as a viable employee and I other social platforms to get the latest job updates. I have received invitation for many of my applications but cannot travel for them due to distance.(I started applying from June). I have saved little to help me start something small for the main time . BTW, I would officially be rounding up my service year in few days
