This is a very sad news, I doubt if all passengers were in their life vest, it would have kept them afloat for sometime before rescue came. Rip to the dead and quick recovery to the hospitalise.

If you are frequent user of marine transportation, get a tested life jacket for your personal use. Most of the life jackets handed to commuters by the operators are either expired, inferior or unsuitable.

It is God that protects us but we also have a role to play by investing in PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT.

If the boat has a roof, people would find it difficult to swim through the open doors or windows. Even with those life jackets provided, passengers may drown.

So sad.

Everyone or anyone living is coastal cities and communities anywhere in the workd knows that with onset of the rains seafaring becomes substantially more treacherous. We still donot have the requisite knowledge and infrastructure to make water transport safe enough to drive the volumes that will make it a viable industry. This doesn't help at all.

When will we hear good news in this country? If it is not mindless accident, it is accidental discharge by security operatives, if it is not armed robbers, it is kidnappers, if it not Coronavirus, it is massive heartbreaking cases of corruption. And you need to buy fuel or diesel for your generator either to charge your phone or watch this nonsense news on the TV, or hear it from a weary voice on the radio Times are hard, but Nigeria's case is different. Even news coming from abroad concerning Nigerians is virtually all bad news of some either having been arrested or of Nigerians wanted for one criminal offense or the other.
Fire service operating only when there is no fire incident, but when there is a fire incident, they will have very good and useless excuses not to appear, and all staff receive monthly salary promptly for not performing at all! And along with that multiple ghost workers! And Nigeria is the only country I know where ghosts receive salaries, allowances and promotion! Ghosts!
More annoying is when for days you have had no Nepa and the next announcement you hear is that the National grid is down and that there will be blackout for some days - as if there had been light previously
A country where a politician will donate ropes for tying goats as a constituency project How did we get here? I wonder what is there for future generations - men of 80 years and above are getting appointments in a society where over 80m are jobless youths!

So No life jacket,.. provided while boarding.... Nigerians are Always after profit ventures.. human safety does not matter..
