guy Owerri is a mess when it rains..

I rode through ihiagwa nekede Naze, down to wethral and to urata where I visited my aunt at holy family motherless baby home.. the roads are a mess.

While coming back, I followed control obinze road.. guy imo state road is a slum no cap.

All these while of dry season what were they doing?

I even saw the demolished ojukwu tunnel.. many abandoned projects..

The only smooth ride I had was obinze porthacourt road which I know is a federal road..

Try ride around Owerri when it's raining..you I'll confirm these things
we wonder who was the governor for 8 yrs

What our leaders in IMO from top to bottom even aides know is, when they get money, they use it to go to clubs to owerri to form woke after spraying money that form bosses when its almost finished they use the remainder to hurriedly do projects.

Reason why the north seems to be richer even in scrace resources, e dae hard for u to hear say all those northern Muslim leaders go to clubs to start forming hushpuppi, e dae hard for u to hear say them go church, pastor see them organize Thanksgiving, then u would hear just for them to form boss they would donate 10million of public money.

Only thing that eats northern leaders money is wives and children, so they usually have enough extra money to spare making them even when they steal its not too noticeable cause the spending rate on unnecessary things is very low

Eastern leaders are very greedy. I was so disappointed at the Enugu road thats less than 2months old thats already collapsing, same thing happened in abia even in IMO state all these people don't have us in mind they only have themselves and their families at heart.

Wike is a hero compared to our eastern leaders. Everytime wike does a project its of high quality.

People would say don't compare rivers state to IMO, cause they receive more, that's the scam they always used until Dave umahi proved them all wrong.

We igbos need to stop this wealth intimidation lifestyle or extravagance lifestyle, whereby u go to occasions and start spraying money, that lifestyle has pushed a lot of our youths into so much vices that some would never come out from.

U go to a traditional wedding, start spraying money, next thing u see a responsible young man thats focused trying his best would think he is not doing enough, cause he is still struggling next thing u see he meets this people to show him the way, before u know it that focused young man is heading in the wrong direction.

Ohaneze leadership. They act like bunch of palm wine tappers that makes decisions from palm wine joint.

The ohaneze youth council is the worst, those ones act like a rogue Igbo organization. Ohaneze youth council insulted Igbo leaders and they are still there.

If I was an Igbo leader from the moment they made that declaration that Igbo leaders should be stoned, DSS would pick you up that day u would come and explain what kind of foolish thinking is that.
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Coldie(m): 5:12pm On Jul 04, 2020
All the Igbo leaders in Apc are just wasting their time, none of them is credible enough to be president or vice, the highest they would become is just either Senate president or deputy.

Is it Rocha's okorocha that constructed one road over 5times in 8years and rain kept washing it away. That constructed a flyover with billions that motor can't drive over, that constructed a tunnel that he himself can't drive under. Nigerians know all these things, they won't talk yet until he is really a threat.

Or is it Orji uzor kalu that stole his state dry. That even in the north they know him as a scammer, theres this news in the north that years back when Ouk hadn't become a governor he donated a huge some of money in an occasion the size was tremendous, people applauded him, only for them to check it later to take it to the bank and found out it was paper with naira notes ontop.

Who can we present in Igbo land under Apc to represent us?

You were making sense until you dabbled in this.
Funnily enough, you posted a few comments above complaining about how the so-called eastern politicans are lavishing our people's wealth, as they have nothing to show for wasted years.

The truth is, respect is earned. If an elder starts misbehaving, he will lose his respect before the young ones. No two ways about it.

Those privileged idiots cannot be wasting and looting the money that is supposed be used to better the lives our people and you expect the youths to still respect them.

Some of you don't understand that a criminal (yes, a corrupt politician is a criminal!) does not understand diplomacy. The only language they understand is the use of force. They steal your money, the EFCC prosecute them and they bribe their way out of Nigeria's corrupt justice system.

China is not stupid to have a law that hands down the death sentence on corrupt politicians. If we don't get to that stage in this country, we will keep fooling ourselves.

Certain actions must have capital punishment as a way of formatting the brains of some senseless idiots.

Do you think attacking Igbo politicians physically will make them sit up? Have we taken the route of organising public protests and seeing whether it fails or not? When you attack the Elders dont you think their security details will shoot at you thereby wasting lives needlessly? Think before talking my guy.

Coming to #8, you see, things don't always play out the way the government thinks

I have a friend whose mother receives pension from one eastern state.

They were asked to come for verification, else those who didn't come for it would be considered "ghost pensioners"

Right now, the woman is in the United States to babysit for one of her daughters who just put to bed.

Because she cannot show up for verification, they stopped her salary. Funnily enough, she has overstayed her visa. She is even working as a nanny in the US. I'm just wondering what will happen when she finally returns.

My point is, sometimes, it may not be fraud. It could be as a result of circumstances

I mentioned that Ihiagwa/Naze/Nekede road some posts back. Construction work started on it when Ihedioha came into office, unfortunately the info I got said that the construction has stopped and the place is not messed up.

Yeah, Obinze/Portharcourt road is a federal road built by Arab contractors starting right after that big hotel supposedly owned by Nwankwo Kanu. Painful thing is the road didnt get to Portharcourt, I think they stopped the work around Poly side

This is the first rainy season after Rochas left office and we are seeing all this. That begs the question, what happened to the roads he supposedly constructed?

Look at the tunnel he built with millions being demolished just because it was poorly done. If the demolition was done by Ihedioha, I'm sure a lot of criticisms will have come up. Thank God it's being done by someone from his own party, to show that it's really a shoddy job. I don't even know if that tunnel is needed on that road.

Question is, after finding out all these, have he started paying or will he continue his discovery till December?

Is there a data of state government workers even down to LG level?

What stops the government from setting up a ICT department and every government worker is asked to go register there and have their details put down. This digital register can be used to track a lot of things.

Gradually, non-government workers domiciled in Imo state will be asked to go register also, that way we are gradually having a data of all residents of Imo state.

Before someone says it's not possible, Lagos state has what is called LASRRA IDcard, you cannot do business with the Lagos state government without LASRRA registration

As at last year, your child can't even get admitted into any public school in Lagos state without the parent producing the LASRRA card. You want government approval for your building project, you present your LASRRA card, want fumigation for your building and need clearance from local government, you present your LASRRA. With this LASRRA, your tax payment is confirmed and where you are defaulting, you are asked to pay the appropriate amount before they attend to you.

I know it's not perfect and still needs adjustments, but it's a step in the right direction. If Lagos can take the initiative with its huge population and civil service workers, I'm sure Imo will do better because it has lesser civil servants and lower population generally.

(Mehn, this guys should coman employ me, I'll even work for free just to give ideas...)

If we as a people decide to start disrespecting our people in the name of fighting corruption before u know it igbo leaders as a whole won't have respect in other regions.

If a leader is erring you dont stone or assault him then collect #2000 to vote him on election day. What u do is u vote him out.

Glad. Many people from Imo state on this thread are beginning to understand the tricks Imo governors play on us especially since 2007 when Obasanjo stopped
Ifeanyi Ararume from succeeding Achike Udenwa as governor.

Since then, governors started to do a few roads and bridges in the state capital. Some of us clapped: Imo state is developing, as sycophants of the governors, mostly the last governor of eight years posted roads and bridges in Owerri online.
It’s organized gang.

But rest of Imo state outside the state capital rot, as funds that should be for infrastructures for rest of the state disappeared.

Any one who watches the recent video on government development projects in the three senatorial zones of of Ebonyi state must weep for Imo state.

The solution is to hold our leaders accountable. We can do this by forming groups who scrutinise budgets, mount protests when the Government is head strong and initiate the recalling of Parliamentary members who go against our will. We dont have to start attacking and beating people in the streets as if we are animals.

You respect people who have respect for themselves. I don't know how many times I have to say this for it to sink in. It's funny that a people without values (Nigerians of all tribes) are talking about respect.

It's high time we stopped this hypocrisy. This country has no values. If we don't approach things differently, there will never be a change.

Those leaders continuously create a vicious cycle of abject poverty so as to use their peanuts to buy people's votes. As far as I am concerned, Nigeria has no solution because we will keep running round in circles.

You will never understand how messed up your society is until you meet someone who is really close to the toptier politicans. I won't write so much here, but just know that your country is finished.

I've read so many comments for or against Okorocha on this thread and it is clear what the issue is. Someone even mentioned Amakohia flyover and what have you. I wrote earlier that if APC had swept 2023 politics aside and allowed Okorocha choose his successor Imo would have been on another level now. Okorocha is a man blessed with wisdom way above Nigerian average and he thinks ahead of his time which might make it difficult for less intelligent people to understand him. He had a long term program which he knew it was impossible for him to achieve in 8 years but a good successor would have riden on his extremely smart program and foundation to easily fulfil a lot. The orchestrated attempt to thwart this program is headed by non-Imolites jealous of the rapid development witnessed by Imo during Okorocha especially the buoyant economy and real estate. Okorocha was able to convince African and international leaders to start seeing Owerri as a converging point for entertainment, relaxation and possibly own homes there. That dream has been put on hold for now until a Governor who understands takes over and continue with the programs. For those who aren't politicians but have been convinced to hate Okorocha because of the manipulation of their head through media gymnastics I pray for their eyes to open so that they see the evil in those deceiving them.

Yes, Brother. Although I have reservations about your constant clamour for water project, but we are now seeing the clear picture. We now understand what you've been saying all these while.

Unfortunately, Hope is looking hopeless in that regards and seems to be following the footsteps of his predecessors.

We only HOPE he retraced his steps back and do the right thing.

Imo state is even too small both in landmass and population size to be lacking development. We should be setting a standard in road construction, academic achievements, health and hospitality.

Anambra has the highest number of tarred rural roads in Southeast, I'll argue this anywhere. Ebonyi state government is already building "for the future" with long lasting construction works, what can we hold on to as government achievements in Imo state?

My brother, as much as I don't support violence, how many times have you seen this your strategy work in Nigeria or Southeast. With all the rubbish our Southeast politicians do, how many times have you seen protests and recalling work.

Pensioners have been protesting for their pay for months now, civil servants in Imo same thing, what has it achieved? Does Hope sound like someone that'll acceed to their requests soon? (I'm guessing he'll continue his investigation till the end of the year)

How then do we hold then responsible? In this thread, we've all been calling the governor, the governor, what are the house of assembly members doing? Many of us don't even know those representing us in the House of Assembly, because we only hear their names during election times.

Where are our House of Assembly members, who are they? They deserve to share in the blame as much as we blame our governor.

I wish we could find a functional way to hold them responsible
